Ah. I'm trying not to get all "OU will win the national title!" but in the back of my head it's hard to not think they will. They bring in Bo Pelini as co-defensive coordinator to replace Mike Stoops. Who took a terrible Nebraska team and led them to causing the most turnovers in the NCAA. You have the usual awesome defense that didn't even allow LSU a 1st down in the second half of the Sugar Bowl. You have the same exact offense that led the country in scoring and had the Heisman winning QB with a 5 to 1 TD/INT ratio. Oh and they scored 600 points last season without throwing to the tight end and with virtually no running game. This year they bring back all of those offensive playmakers and realize they have a backup QB in Paul Thompson that is almost as good as White when throwing and can scramble. So if White goes down or is ineffective you know who to turn to. You have an awesome tight end they can utilize this year in Bubba Moses. And you have the #1 High School prospect and widely considered to be a future star in Adrian Peterson entering at running back.......... I see no reason why they can't be better than they were last year. They were scary last year up until the last two games. And this season they'll be even more dominant and probably won't have the extreme meltdown. I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch but I'm finding it hard not to believe they'll win the National Title. I mean just think of it that way.

Nobody talks about 1-AA. Hey, at least we have a playoff system and a clear champion. So does the NBA..but nobody cares about that either. *low blow*

Nobody talks about 1-AA. What do you guys think will be the best conference? I say SEC. They'll have at least 3 maybe 4 top 25 teams(LSU, Georgia, Florida) Then the Big XII I think will have the same amount(OU, Texas, KSU) but the SEC will be harder to compete in. The PAC 10 will have like one good team(USC) and the Big Ten will probably have Michigan and OSU the ACC will have Miami and Florida State and I don't know what the fuck the Big East will have with those teams abandoning it.

If OU were to win the national title at the Orange Bowl then it'd be a 4 year circle. Because they won the National Title at the last Orange Bowl in 2000........it'd be cool if they played Miami though like they should've in 2000.

What everyone is doing is going off assumptions. For both men. What both men do requires tremendous athletic ability and which require's more is kind of up in the air. Mike has good reasons for why Armstrong is better and the rest of you have good reasons for why Vick is a good athlete. However we have no idea how'd they'd actually do in head to head competition. So we're all assuming one can do something else better than the other having no idea how the other will perform. Suffice to say.....this tourney is a joke and basically based off who you like or who impresses you more doing what they do. There's not actual basis for "Well he's a better athlete!"

You're going with assumptions. Lance has won one of the most brutal sports accomplishments out there FIVE YEARS IN A ROW. I put most of their play up there with golfers. Requires TONS of skill --- but athletically? Not much there. -=Mike Hitting the ball, running the bases, stealing bases, catching the ball, diving for the ball, jumping for the ball, etc........all require athletic ability.

What's sad is that Texas would probably play for the National Title every year if they didn't have to play the Red River Shootout. That's usually the blemish on there record.....and it's a BIG one. Oh btw......schools in contention and hovering around a national title bid next season: LSU, OU, USC, Georgia, Texas(if they can beat OU), KSU, Miami. I expect to see a combination of these teams in the BCS bowls.

You don't really need to root for OU to whip the shit out of Texas. On paper......Texas should be the best team in the country! But let's look at the coaching difference between OU and Texas. OU: Bob Stoops. One of the best(if not THE best) coaches in college football with one of the best staffs in football. Texas: Mack Brown.....idiot that can't even figure out which QB to use.

I mean I care about OU winning the national title game and if they can make it there that's fine. But personally I care more about them whipping KSU's asses up and down the field in Manhattan and then hopefully doing the same in the Big XII title game. I think it's just society's general hate for authority figures. Because power corrupts, and alot of cops have been corrupted with the ability to say and do most anything while knowing that you can't. Its like having a boss that is REALLLY an asshole for no reason, but you can't say anything because you need the money. Only you can't "quit" in the cops situation. Asshole cops= cop hate. Yeah but not all cops are bad. And that's what bugs me when someone sees a cop that they've never met and they have no clue what he's really like and they start putting him down. Give the guy a chance. The Germans had Nazi's....but not all German's are nazi's. There are corrupt cops.....but not all cops are corrupt.

Eh.......it's not like I ever really enjoyed any of the HHH/Shawn matches. I doubt I'll enjoy this one either. Plus I've gotten to the point where I just hate HIAC matches. Give me a good Benoit/Jericho 2 out of 3 falls match as the focus of the show.

Why am I not shocked the main event isn't the world title match? I predict Benoit and Jericho go on halfway through the show and everything is built around HHH and Shawn with the winner getting a title shot at Summerslam. Oh and.....ANOTHER HELL IN A CELL!? What the hell? Yeah.....I'd hate to think of what will happen when they really break the law and real cops show up. They'll start a brawl. One of the cops will end up shooting them in the ensuing melee. And then you hear of something stupid he did or said and you're like "What a retard! I can't believe he just did that!" I started this thread b/c I just read that OU backup QB Paul Thompson who was going to be red shirted this year and given the keys to the car next year after White left was arrested last night for a DUI. And it made me go "What a fucking moron. What the fuck is wrong with you?" And then I started thinking of other stupid things athletes have said or done that make you go "What!? WHY!?" So share some stupid things athletes have done that were, could be, or luckily didn't turn out to be career damaging.
