When a band sets up a record label

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Epitaph. 94 was their year and they brought in shitloads of money with The Offspring, Bad Religion, and Pennywise among others.

Fahrenheit 9/11 Review by FOX NEWS

Oh sure the movie is going to make ALOT of money. It remains to be seen how much sway it will have over the public. As forceful and heavy handed as Moore happens to be often times, even when slapped in the face, the masses tend to not react at all. Sort of an apathy induced by shock, if you follow my meaning. All the same, I'm still not sure what significance the listing of all the famous folks means. The right wing seems to have a real distain for politically motivated celebs. When really, all they have is one vote to cast by themselves. Good review, which makes me want to see the movie even more now.

A well written column: "Cold Turkey"

I read this and was really quite moved. Let the bashing begin. http://www.inthesetimes.com/site/main/article/cold_turkey/

A well written column: "Cold Turkey"

I too thought the fuel/drug example was a good one. I don't understand the schizo comments in regards to this column. *I* didn't have any trouble following what he said. Is it a real downer? Perhaps. I have always found that recognising a problem is the first step towards finding a solution. There willl always be people who don't wanna hear it and label those folks as simply being negative. Sad.

    Michael Moore Hates America

Since when has there been talk of recruiting kids that young to serve in the military? It's the first that I've heard of it. And maybe WHEN that happens people would be willing to let them see his unbiased documentary. But to say that they should be able to see it NOW just because something MIGHT happen in a couple of years is a joke. And, Jimmy Saint, a lot of us are making fat jokes about Moore because he's fat, not to 'defend America' per-se. And I'm actually in reasonably good shape, certainly better than average, am I allowed to make fat jokes, or am I too fat of a bastard to do so? I have heard several discussions limited to a few talk radio shows that have thrown the idea around of how people might react to a draft being implemented should the soldiers have to stay for a long period of time overseas. I guess the lure of the GI Bill doesn't pack em in like it used to. The discussions weren't any big deal as in "BUsh and co. were thinking about starting a new draft". Just theory.

WWE: Day of Reckoning for the Gamecube

Lets also not forget to have a much larger space for CAWs. 32 with 2 memory cards isn't enough since I usually make a shitload of them.

    Bill Simmons Wrestlemania Diary

Maybe he IS a Rasslin' fan. It doesn't stop him from putting his points in here and there so he can backtrack on wrestling as soon as somebody accuses it of being fake and scripted. Ya just KNOW he has the whole "I was doing it for an article" bullshit excuse to any of his friends who hate wrestling, or can't get past the words scripted and fake. whatever.

    Bill Simmons Wrestlemania Diary

Anyone surprised that a mainstrean sports journalist would wanna slag wrestling? Boy, he sure does seem "edgy" and "in the know" about it all being "scripted" and "fake". Fuck Bill Simmons. Fuck ESPN. Fuck football and all other "real sports". They have no respect. Nothing would make me happier than to hear the news that the Sports Gal has fallen down a flight of steps. Word.

    Pixies

All debate aside about which Pixies album is best I think it's awesome they are doing a tour. If only they'd come to the Mass/New Hampshire area so I can see them. I should also note that the "Complete B-Sides" disc is quite a good comp. of good songs. I also like the "Live on the BBC" cd as it has a much better version of "Levitate Me" than the original recording.

So, Why did Angle turn on Eddie?

Angle has been a slow burn heel turn going back to at least the Rumble. After he got eliminated, check out his mannerisms. He acted all dick heelish with the disappointment of dedicating the Rumble to the troops and not coming through. A second chance at the SD Rumble saw Eddie squeeze by him and AGAIN Angle got all heated outside the ring. No congrats to his "buddy" Eddie, nothing but piss and vinegar in the moment. Only THIS time it was slightly more overt than at the RR PPV. This is the part that connects him to Eddie for sure (AS is right about this). But I think Angle has been working towards it going back a bit more. Including January.

    Life Of Agony January tour

I saw the Whitfield Crane version at the Orpheum in Boston a few years back opening for Megadeth. It was awful. I never got to see them with Keith. So the Worchester show looks like I might have to go. Is the DVD out yet?
  13. I was looking at e-bay today and saw that Hacksaw Jim Duggan is selling the WCW TV Title. It has a pic of him with the belt. Damn, he looks OLD. So if you game, search e-bay and find it. I found it through www.realjuggalos.com

Kurt Angle's neck worse than originally thought

Well if there is money to be made..... All the same, while it may not be a good idea for Angle to keep trudging along with all the germans and high angle bumps. I really want to see an Angle/Bret match if it can be done. I can remember wincing and keeping my fingers crossed for both Angles WM match with Brock and the Summerslam match with HBK and HHH and everything turned out fine there. Thankfully so. If Angle trusts his instincts maybe he is better off than we think. I'll also take a match with HBK, but for some reason it doesn't interest me as much.

    Matrix Reloaded

Having read a few other forums he supposedly will show up in the next film. He is apparently the reason the Oracle tells Neo to be there at "that exact time".

    MOTY for 2003

For me Angle/Benoit is the MOTY. I was so down in the dumps realising that the match I had ordered the PPV for was gonna have to follow the stinker that was HHH/Steiner. But being the wrestling gods they are, Angle and Benoit won the crowd back in a big way. The way the crowd reacted to the 3rd flying headbutt attempt... I was awestruck. Haven't seen any ROH as of yet. But some of the matches discussed here seems like a good guide to find some quality matches. I have Misawa/Kobashi on the way in the mail, which I have heard surpasses Angle/Benoit, but I'll believe it when I see it. Big ups to Michaels/Jericho as well as TWGTT vs The Filthy Animals.

What would you consider to be..

While I don't think overall it was the best SNME October 87 had Savage vs. Bret Hart in a really good follow up to the Mega-Powers angle/Honkey Tonk Man angle from the Sept before. The match was great, with some great selling by Savage, who took an awesome bump to the guts from the megaphone after jumping off the top to the outside. Plus, it was the first time I think Bret got featured prominantly in a one on one match. I took notice of Bret right about that time, as Savage, Vince, and Jesse all worked wonders in getting Bret over a a serious singles threat to the more established Macho Man.

    Life of Agony fans rejoice...

RRR is a great album that i have listened to more times than I can count at this point. The other two were a mixed bag to be sure. Some stuff I liked alot some stuff not at all. The live disc and the rare and b-sides cd were also a mixed bag as well. But damn, songs like Plexiglass Gate just own me. Great emotional metal that kicks your ass. Lets hope they can catch lightning in a bottle yet again.

Ok so we have 3 new WWE games...

Do you actually unlock anything for beating the revenge mode in WM19? Maybe I'm out of the loop but what about Ted Dibiase being a hidden character? Otherwise, I've decided to be just as cheap as the game and play the first level over and over to earn cash for the shopzone. It seems faster, as it will jump start my sim-fed.

    Bowling for Columbine...

Moore makes alot of sense. Whatever critiques you may have of him, the information is still really solid. Moreso than say... the 6 o'clock news. Black guys DO get the shaft in the news. Americans ARE scared shitless. Canada IS a vastly different culture in spite of being a kid brother nation to the US. Sad but true,. the United States has purpetuated a cycle of violence (in attitude and practice) over the years that has left its sense morality and responsibilty at polar opposites. Like it or not, Charlton Heston HAD a big chance to redeem himself after the 2 NRA conventions, and he flopped. Exposed as a racist (obliviously so), having no teleprompters, and lacking the courage of his convictions, he ran for the hills and didn't even have the guts to show these people out the door for fear he might have to continue to speak to them. Because, say what you will about the timeline of the footage from those NRA conventions, it doesn't disproove anything. They are indeed ASSHOLES considering the timing of the shootings and their attempts at damage control in its wake.

LOTR: TTT Extended Ed. DVD Details...

INdeed, the One Ring is really the true heel in all of this and I think the way things have been presented thusfar support that. Such as Galadriels speech sequence, and at the end there is a soft dissolve to the ring flipping chaoticly, just show remind and show everyone what this is all about.

    Bowling for Columbine...

Ok, I have seen the film now. What I want to know is what these lies and half truths are. Could someone point them out? He makes a good standing for himself (Moore) in the movie and I have heard alot about the aforementioned lies and such, but I haven't heard anybody gibve an example. Anybody got something?

It's not always a damn carry

I don't think calling Angle overrated is very accurate. Angle is indeed over praised in the sense of how some folks go on and on about how he is or can be the next Flair (which remains to be seen). I see the difference being a slightly different definition of the two wordings. But lets face it. Angle is really friggin good in the ring. Rarely does he have a match where i feel like its just him going through a laundry list of his signature spots. Having good matches with guys like say KANE, really adds to his rep. PLus, the guys has good to great matches all the time!!! In closing: When was the last time you saw Angle totally fail in the ring?
