I didn't notice much anything in the Final Cut that was different from the Director's Cut, which has always been my preferred version. I think there were like 2 seconds in a strip club that I didn't remember from the first few times I saw the movie. That one ought to be fine.

Important achievement you missed, from wikipedia:

ICP fans give their baby a Jullago funeral.

Looking at those pictures, no wonder she didn't realize she was pregnant. -
This one should be pretty funny by round 5 or 6. I think there's a much smaller pool of great TV shows to pick from than movies or music. The medium didn't really start to mature until the 70s, and new shows excluding soap operas and late night don't generally air outside a very narrow 8 PM - 11 PM window.

Okay, that I-am-fucking-your-mom level putback almost makes up for a night of miserable jump shots.

This game has quickly devolved into a horrible shooting-off. This game would be over if Garnett would actually just do more than pull up and miss jump shots. You're 7 feet tall, man. Do something with that.

Good band, great album.

Not for the Wii, no. The PS2 had both, and Guitar Hero 2 came out for the 360 as well.

I'm gonna buy like 8 of those scarves.

Gears is actually $35 on Amazon today, eligible for free shipping too. I was thinking about finally picking it up last week, so I'm glad I got lazy and waited.

I'd hesitate to call J&MC industrial. But that's a good pick nonetheless. After a lot of deliberation, I'm breaking my "one album per artist" rule, just because this is too good to pass up given my other options. Of course, no shame (or surprise) in doubling up on this guy: Prince - 1999 I have a really odd history with this album. I first got it right after Purple Rain and was not fond of it at all. The electronic stuff, the long long songs; I wasn't ready for it. I actually gave the copy to a friend. Then I gave it a little more time and it really got its hooks in it. I started driving around with it in cities, and suddenly it started to feel a little better. I think I needed crowds and nightime and fluorescent lights. And now I put it up there at the top of his catalog, and would comfortably call it an essential album for anyone. The big singles are great, but my favorites are probably "Let's Pretend We're Married" (who else could get away with "I sincerely wanna fuck you" and "I want to fuck the taste out your mouth" as come-ons, and make them sound so pleasant) and "Lady Cab Driver," which is like the best use of drum machines, staccato electric guitar, and bedsprings ever. This is a really weird album, and it's more and more welcoming as time passes. The whole second half gets into an unbroken groove that just keeps going and going. The album's sound is very different from Sign o' the Times as well, so even though my 20 albums now have about 160 minutes of Prince among them, we're not talking too much overload. Very pleased to pick up something this good this far out.

The animated sequence in Vol. 1 also loses a lot of its luster on repeated viewings. The first time, fantastic; a lot of the surprises, however, really are appealing just because they're surprises. I like Vol. 2 better as well. Alien/Aliens has always been a tricky call for me. The former is much more layered, frightening, and chock full of subtext, but the sequel is a pitch-perfect sci-fi action adventure, which is a surprisingly rare commodity. Might pick Alien in a pinch just because there's one definitive, superb version of that; the Aliens director's cut has a lot of top-notch moments (namely Ripley in front of the forest projection, learning about her daughter) that make it better and deeper than the theatrical version, but some nonsense as well (the 5 minutes that reveal the colony before the Marines get there are probably the most damaging addition, draining the entire first act of any suspense or mystery). If you take the franchise out of common knowledge, Alien wins easily. I can only imagine what the shock of the alien's birth and how it develops throughout the film would have been like had I not been aware of the lifecycle, Spaceballs, Sigourney Weaver, etc.

I'm never up to speed on leaks.

All better: The Clash - The Clash I won't pretend it's better than London Calling, because very few things are, but The Clash nonetheless rules totally and utterly. High-burning anthems like "Clash City Rockers" and "Complete Control" speed along on a fantastic thrumming guitar and some of the best bass riffs I can recall. The album bristles with energy, aggressive on one hand and beautifully harmonized or groovy on the other ("(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais" or "Police & Thieves"). The songs seem simple on casual listen, but there's tons going on at every moment. These guys were so fucking good.

Yeah, I just can't decide what I want at this point. Need to check my shortlist when I get home from work.

This is new. And frightening. I've got to find a new apartment and would like to find a new job. Neither of these are terribly fun when it's 90+ degrees out. The summer concert line-up for the DC area is surprisingly good so far, which'll be a nice change of pace.

Boylan's is fantastic. There's a small chain called Chopt in DC (and New York, I think), which is essentially a fancy-shmancy salad place. The food's fine, but I really go for the Boylan's fountain sodas. All you can drink in blissful varieties.

I remember the first tank of gas I put in my car was $1.09/gallon. That was June of 1999. Tears, yo. We hit over $4 for regular in Arlington, VA this weekend.

Ha, I didn't even notice the post date. I guess I hadn't read the thread since. This is pretty much my favorite game of the past whenever. I lent it to a friend and I'm fiending to get it back so I can run through with a different class.

That's your problem. You haven't got any tech powers (aside from Electronics for Liara, which probably isn't maxed up). They're all robotic enemies; get Tali or Garrus or Kaidan in there and it's no problem. I did it as a Vanguard with Liara and Garrus and got through the bunker on my second or third try. Try Singularity-->Overload-->Sabotage and they're toast. Singularity-->Carnage will do some serious damage too. It's totally worth beating, because you get a great mod to your stats afterwards.

Hahaha, fuck you. That was next. Goddamn we're similarly inclined.

I can't decide if I think this or the new Adam Sandler movie looks worse.
