  1. Is it possible that he'd wear something like a bullet-proof vest to this thing? I think it's either that or a bra.
  2. Like I said, maybe it's because he was working with Rob Faulds (who's probably one of the worst play-by-play guys I've seen/heard), but his work wasn't that stellar (examples like, 'it's hard to hit a pitch out of the strikezone' stick out). A real shame, though, especially since he'd often not go on west coast road trips with the team to be at home with his family in Florida.
  3. We'll just get a boatload of commercials for The OC this year.
  4. It's on some French channel from Quebec this fall, too. Is Vision showing the whole series or just the episodes that Fox showed before they yanked it off the air?
  5. http://www.tsn.ca/mlb/news_story.asp?id=100794 Damn. I really didn't like the guy much as an analyst, maybe working with someone like Rob Faulds will do that to you, but he seemed like a nice enough guy. I missed the first few innings of today's game and was wondering why Faulds was working by himself.
  6. Well, if the Expos moving to Washington means that the Orioles are going to suck, I guess at least 1 good thing came out of it.
  7. This one and Polkaroo.
  8. Weird. Matthews was the Jays hitting coach in 2000, when they were the AL leaders in homers (and had 4 guys with 30, like the Cubs did this year). Yet, they had a poor team OBP and were in the middle of the pack in runs/game.
  9. I remember reading somewhere that a bunch of kids in Africa were running around in 'Buffalo Bills: Super Bowl Champions' shirts.
  10. Man, if you had told me last year at this time that the Jays would beat the Yankees 7-0 in October I would have danced an Irish jig.
  11. There were about 31,000 people at the game tonight.
  12. It's especially frustrating since playoff runs have really helped teams in the past (if the Mariners hadn't made it in '95, who knows where that franchise would be today. Same goes for the Marlins, winning last year could get them a new ballpark.), but the Expos never got their chance.
  13. Isn't one of them blind?
  14. I really wish I could get to tomorrow's game, but I've got to work and probably couldn't get a ride anyway.
  15. This is surprisingly low (high?)
  16. This should be interesting. He'd be crazy to accept this now before he hits the open market, but if he really loves Toronto as much as he seems to, he might take this offer. I think it's mostly just so the team can say they offered him something so they're not the bad guys when/if he leaves. This is, of course, assuming it's true. Marty York isn't the most credible guy in the world.
  17. I'm going to guess it's Gagne.
  18. Ratings. I think a lot of people just watch it since it's the 'Tonight Show' and it's what they're used to. They probably just made this announcement now to keep Conan from jumping ship to CBS.
  19. I thought that quote was kind of strange. Saying 'all year' as opposed to his career (or whatever time frame). I wouldn't be shocked if has done some form of steroids over time (knowingly or not), but he'd be crazy to still be doing them right now with all the shit that's going on.
  20. I gave up on it. You can only take so much Paul Heyman cock-sucking.
  21. I think we're all pretty big losers.
