Hey, guys. Just letting you know a little more about my situation since I left rather abruptly. As most of you know, my wedding is May 14th - just under two weeks away now. Understandably things have been really hectic for me the last few weeks, and will continue to be that way up until the big date. After the wedding, Sydney and I will be away on honeymoon (Disney World! and no Ian!) so I expect you won't see much of me around the boards for most of this month. There is a set of rankings due and I still intend to do them - you'll probably get them tonight, or tomorrow at the latest. I may even manage a promo or two over the next week since Coyote's absence wasn't explained in storyline. But after that, I probably won't be around until early June. I do expect to return with lots of pictures.

Well, you missed the cutoff on RSVPs by one day... But dude. Seriously. If you really want to come, let me know through PM... I'm sure we could squeeze you in.
-
Drea, can you get to central Florida on two weeks notice? If you can... well... be my guest.
-
Wow, you guys remember Evan Wolfe? Why, what? Oh, no reason...
-
If there's a tie, than as the outgoing candidate I should cast the deciding vote. I feel that is only fair. Nah, it's not worth the harassment I'd get afterward
-
And you people had been so sure it was going to be Comet.

SWF State of the Union 2006
Longdogger_Pete replied to chirs3's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
I joined when I saw an article about e-feds on the IGN Wrestling site. Two feds were plugged in the article, and I applied for them both. Interestingly, the other fed (BWFE, Best Wrestling Federation Ever. It wasn't.) shut down two days later when its co-owners suddenly flamed the hell out of each other, then dropped off the face of the earth. -
I'm sure you're qualified to make that call too. Well, for a new guy, he seems to pick up on things pretty quick.
-
I must abstain from this vote, for reasons that are somewhat obvious.

Bump. So does anyone actually use this? Outside of the Is It Thoth Or Not Report that is?

Top-25 Stupidest Moments in Fed History!
Longdogger_Pete replied to the.weej's topic in Community/General
I'm surprised I only have two mentions on this list (and didn't even crack the top ten). I would've thought my Vince Russo moment would've made the list, at least. I could probably come up with a couple more. And I didn't (and still don't) think Wrathapalooza was a stupid idea. I consider it one of my better ideas over my time here. Although Wrathapalooza II was, admittedly, a better show. -
SWF Wrestler of the Month & Historian's Rankings
Longdogger_Pete replied to Longdogger_Pete's topic in Smarks Wrestling Federation
And now my own notes. Ouch @ ELM and JHawk's ranks this month. ELM jumped to the middle by barely being active, and JHawk jumped below all the warm bodies by compiling a massive losing streak. Sorry guys. Blank made a big jump, but defending your title at every... single... show... will do that for you. Akira wins the honorable mention for being the first person this year to ask me for the entire convoluted formula I use to compile these rankings. And hey look, I'm on the list! -

Most emotional/dramatic you've gotten
Longdogger_Pete replied to Angel_Grace_Blue's topic in Community/General
Emotional moments. Yeah, there've been a few. Disappointments, frustrations, mostly... but emotional, sure. Winning my third European title from Low Brass was a big accomplishment for me. (Damn, that was almost five years ago.) I felt and still feel it was arguably the best match I've ever written. Unfortunately I was disappointed the day of the show when Low Brass told me he wasn't writing. I think I would've won anyway, but the not knowing bothered me. I was frustrated when I lost that title a couple weeks later in my first defense, against Jacob Helmsley. This is my only loss that I hold in dispute, having read my match as well as Helmsley's. My most emotional period was what caused me to leave the fed the first time - when the culmination of the LDP vs. Wilson storyline was ruined when CC inserted Perfect Bo into Miami Mayhem III. Oh yeah, and then there was that time of watching the SJL die under my watch in a flurry of no-shows and without there being a damn thing I could do about it. Emotional moments? Yeah, there've been a few. Positive ones? Can't think of any. Why do we do this to ourselves? -
Told ya I had talent.

When was I in a Mall Brawl?
-
No, that one's not in there.

Longdoggah is the Skype name. We're not building rocket ships here.

If I lose my match at From the Fire, I will be out of a job. If I win, I plan on returning to the active roster. Either way, that leaves one vacant commentator's position open. There has been talk of an SWF viewer's poll to take place at AftershoX to decide on who gets the position. If this translates into an actual poll for the board members (probably not), here are ten potential choices for your consideration. (Note that not all of these characters may be available for storyline reasons; I'm not familiar with how everyone left the fed.) Cyclone Comet - The front runner, and some would say, only serious choice, as some have been clamoring to replace LDP with Comet for some time now. Axis - The return of the big Australian would be a big boost to the fed, as well as continue to make Crusen feel important around here. Edwin MacPhisto - My personal favorite, the Crown Prince of Flash and Panache adds an offbeat personality to any broadcast. Frost - He is untested as an announcer, but Robert Frost's inclusion would actually tie in somewhat with fed-wide storyline. Annie Eclectic - We've never had a woman commentator, and Annie's attitude and exuberance would certainly liven up each match. Ted Polak - No, not Thoth of Clan fame, but Ted Polak himself. I'd love to see a non-kayfabe player call some of these matches, though the heel/heel pairing with King would be unusual. Madrac - If for no other reason than to get Thoth to stop talking about how great he was. Bobby Riley - I don't think anyone's seriously considering Riley. I'm just throwing the name out there for completeness. Ben Hardy - Yeah right. Ben Hardy is off his rocker to believe he has a chance at this, but I'm sure he'd put his name in anyway. Matt "Marv Albert" Myers - No explanation necessary.
-
Crusen was Axis. Ted Polak would be awesome as an occasional guest announcer, but we wouldn't want to overdo it. God, I'd forgotten that Annie did commentary for the JL.
-
For the record, the last four names I gave were not there for serious consideration - I was trying to put a little humor into the post. Also I agree that I don't think Edwin would be available for announcer duty due to storyline, but I listed him as he's my favorite.
-
I remember that match. I made my SWF debut there in a run-in.
