Booking for 5/19 HD (Special Friday show)
alfdogg replied to King Cucaracha's topic in Brandon Truitt
I'll try to get that promo written tommorrow. Match for this week, if I have time to write one, if not, next week: Thunderkid vs Mr. Boricua -
I still think the Pistons can win, too. Remember, they were down 3-2 to the Heat last year, and the Nets the year before that.

I'm not going to have anything tonight...I was having computer problems last night, and I have to go to work in an hour. Sorry. -
Um, did you look at their numbers? Its not like this was Malik Rose getting first place votes. Those guys both put up incredible numbers this year. I could give a shit less about numbers. If you vote Marion over Dirk or Lebron, you have no business voting on these things. It's as simple as that. Allen Iverson didn't make the playoffs. Let me say that again... didn't make the playoffs... in the NBA... everyone makes the playoffs in the NBA. He doesn't deserve first team, especially over guys like Nash, Kobe, Chauncey and D-Wade, who were all MVP candidates. The All-NBA teams are based entirely on numbers. Every award is, outside of the MVP. That said, I had Tony Parker in Iverson's spot, and Pau Gasol ahead of Carmelo Anthony. Other than that, I had all the same players right, just not on the same teams. Shaq could average 5 points and 2 rebounds and he'd still get voted first team, just because he's Shaq.

Segments regarding the HL title match at School's Out, possibly squashes. -
In case you guys didn't know, Kobe's going to be in the studio tommorrow.

Paxson has basically said the Post rumors concerning Gordon are BS and that he's not interested in trading him. I don't know if that means just not to the Knicks, or not at all, or what.
-
From a sentimental standpoint, I'd like to see the Clippers get to the finals. I can understand it if you're a fan of one of the other teams, but you'd have to be a soul-less bastard to simply not want to see them in the finals, IMO. From an entertainment standpoint (not to say that the other teams are boring, just saying), any combination of the Nets, Heat, Suns and Mavs would be fun to watch.
-
Aren't Gordon and Crawford more or less the same player, anyway? Of course, I guess that didn't stop them from trading for Francis in the first place.

Here's the answer: @ Boston 66, Detroit 64, May 10, 2002 The '04 Pistons have the next three, including two from the Pacers series.
-
At least one Pistons-Pacers ECF game in '04 had both teams in the 60's.
-
Pretty much what we've all been thinking about the quality of the officiating in the playoffs.
-
I Barkley.
-
Diop's playing great on Duncan, I gotta say.
-
That was one cheap ass foul call on Bowen there at the end of regulation. Devin Harris just coughed up the ball on consecutive fast breaks.
-
Still 2:00 in the third and this is already a higher scoring game than DET-CLE.
-
He didn't step out of bounds. They showed the replay from a different angle on the halftime show. Oh, and stfu, VX
-
That was a clean block by Evans, though. The Pistons should be playing OT, at the very least.
-
Felonies!, you're so fat you wore a blue shirt on the beach and everyone said "Hey, it's Free Willy". How are you going to respond to that? If he posts an insult to me, I'll keep insulting the jerk.

Remember, I picked the Heat at the start of this thread.

I just posted my lists a few days ago at NMB, so good timing. PG 1. Steve Nash 2. Gilbert Arenas 3. Allen Iverson 4. Chauncey Billups 5. Jason Kidd It was close between Gilbert and AI, but I gave Gilbert the nod based on his recent playoff performance. SG 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Dwyane Wade 3. Vince Carter 4. Ray Allen 5. Michael Redd Probably the easiest list to decide. SF 1. Tracy McGrady 2. LeBron James 3. Ron Artest 4. Shawn Marion 5. Andrei Kirilenko Marion & Kirilenko was probably the toughest decision to make. LeBron's still a little rough around the edges in his shooting and his defense, and while he's improved as a clutch player, I'd still go to McGrady for the big shot if choosing between the two. PF 1. Tim Duncan 2. Kevin Garnett 3. Dirk Nowitzki 4. Elton Brand 5. Jermaine O'Neal Refer to what I said about Gilbert/AI...I almost put Dirk above KG for the same reason, but KG's defense was the big difference, though Dirk has improved on his. C 1. Yao Ming 2. Shaquille O'Neal 3. Ben Wallace 4. Marcus Camby 5. Brad Miller This, of course, is provided that Yao makes a full recovery from his foot injury, and if he continues to get the touches he was getting even with a healthy McGrady in the lineup.

Maybe not to us, but there's obviously other factors that weigh into the voters' minds. Keep in mind, Dominique Wilkins wasn't voted in on the first ballot, and Adrian Dantley and Bernard King still have yet to get in.
-
They're changing that rule next year, btw. Had Dirk not been able to shoot the FT's, the Spurs would have got to choose who shot them. Starting next year, your team gets to choose as opposed to the opponents.

Duncan fouls out, but Dirk rolled his ankle on the play. Spurs lead by one with just over a minute and free throws pending
