I bet this topic has gotten a lot of hits.

Um, wasn't Regal on RAW?

#: The idea of WWE Champion Jeff Hardy is not collectively shit upon.
-
OK, I give up. Can someone explain this one to me?
-
Couple minor notes: Alf's "three time World champion" intro includes 2 OAOAST World titles and 1 WDW World title. Chris Stevens is no longer "Sensational"...I quietly dropped the gimmick when I put him in this match.

And here it is. Sadly, we didn't get the new "LUSC-IOUS LE-ON! clap-clap clap-clap-clap" chant to go with the new moniker. Funny bit at the start with Ned's tights being down and Leon's partners not wanting to tag him. Nice hot six-man to open up the show. Very good tag team match between the Enterprise and the Love Doctors. The Docs were close, but their opponents were just too crafty. Great old school stuff mixed in with some of the high spots of today. Funny, everytime I would see "JR" typed in the US title match, I would think "Jim Ross", and would be like "why the hell is he doing a sunset flip on JR?" Anyway, another very good, very heated match, helped a lot by Riggs and Staci's heel work. Cool to see the female manager assist on the submission from the outside. And a big win for Colombian Heat, the first-ever US champion. It's been a big past year for him. Husband and wife back together in a touching moment, haha. Like the tag match at Halloween Havoc '95, only with women involved. Good heel work from the Rockers. As usual great stuff with COD. Really enjoyed that tag match. That was an interesting counter to the Mustache Ride, to say the least. The kickoff was a lot of fun. Some nice cheap heat by Black to start off, and the heel beatdown ends it, as is usually the case with these things. There will be hell to pay for the soccer ball to the face! And a terrific ladder match to wrap it up. I really thought PRL was finally going to do it at the end, but Landon got him at the last second. Good edge-of-your-seat action. The lungblower off the ladder was nice. Excellent show overall. MOTN: I think I'll go with Colombian Heat vs James Riggs. LOTN: "You've gotta say this for Ned, that's a great all-over tan he's got." - The Coach

No. It's just a random Vin Baker pic. It's become a tradition in this league.

So they were really still going to do Bret/Shawn all the way up until that point? I would have thought that as hot as the Bret/Austin feud was even in late '96, that they would have changed plans a lot sooner. Of course, the question then is what program would Shawn have had for the big show. Another match with Sid, possibly? A few more questions: What plans, if any, were there for Austin before his walkout in '02 (beyond the stuff with Eddie/Benoit/Flair), as well as when he came back in '03 before he knew he had to retire (meaning was there anything for him beyond WrestleMania XIX)? Also, what about Brock Lesnar had he stuck around?

Fourthed. Thanks Papa. I'll try to get some feedback in tonight, but if not, I'll have some tommorrow.
-
Also, if no one has any objections, I'm going to shorten the time limit to 24 hours once we get our new team.

"I'm so glad that John Cena's injured, maybe now he can finally lose the title!"
-
Hey. I was actually in the process of typing up a PM to someone regarding the spot, but my internet connection mysteriously disappeared for reasons I'm still not sure of. I PROMISE I'll get something done about this tonight, whether it be track down another manager or go with the bye team. But right now, I need to get to bed.
-
I guess if I haven't heard back from KOAB tonight, then I'll drop him and find someone new to take that spot. Another idea I had should he not come around, was to just do the draft with 19 people, then use one of my spare accounts and just throw a bunch of scrubs on that team, either guys who are injured for the year or would never play. Essentially it would be a bye week. Does that sound like a good idea?

What the fuck, Miami.

OK, I just got Marvin's choices via PM. Stevie has until 11 AM tommorrow to make his pick. (EDIT: 11:11, to be exact.) I should stress again, if you're going to bed, or work, or anywhere, and are going to be out for a while, leave me or someone you know will be around a list of your top 3 (at least) choices via PM. My work schedule is 1-9 PM ET, Friday through Tuesday.

The Chamber match is most likely going to be late. All I have written so far is the hype video and the entrances (which that alone is probably longer than most matches I've written in a while) and I have to work tommorrow. I didn't get time to work on it Thursday when I was off. Sorry. Real quick, the Chamber setup: Picture the HIAC setup, only with the chains (ala the Elimination Chamber) instead of the fence. The chains are entirely covered in barbed wire. The Chamber is 24 feet high, and the roof is flat, as opposed to the dome on the Elimination Chamber. There is an 8 X 5 cell in each corner of the Chamber, which will each hold one of the participants that don't start the match. The entrance to the Chamber faces staight down the aisleway, and is two cage doors which open outward from the cage automatically. Hope that covers it.

As far as just a closing spot, I liked the finish to Rockers/Orients at RR'91. It was a bit contrived, to say the least, but it looked pretty cool.

Just for you, Harley! Tim Duncan, F/C
-
Whoops...Dirk is a keeper. Guess Harley didn't look at the list close enough. His second choice was Tim Duncan. Pic forthcoming.
-
OK, time's up. KOAB can make a pick whenever he gets in, but until then, he's skipped. Here's Harley's pick ... a few posts below.
