  1. Actually, what you described is similar to Midtown Madness 3's Hunter mode..
  2. Don't be hasty, now. Never say an assault rifle is "unnecessary".
  3. Thought I'd pass this on, to those if you interested. Astro Boy (1980) on R4 DVD
  4. Rebuttal: If Benoit, after years of doing the same thing..can get a title run, then Jericho can, too. Especially with Jericho's much superior mic skills and the ability to get a crowd behind him. A serious push could erase the bad that's been done to him.
  5. With the size the ES games are, it'll be at LEAST 2006.
  6. I don't think there isn't anything wrong with the game, I think your not realizing something. I bet you the finishers happen more frequently for Booker T and others because there attributes are higher than yours. So therefore they will get speicals more than you will. Oh and about the charisma thing, compring Beniot to Jericho isn't a good point since Jericho is more charismatic than Beniot is. Could you use a better example? Yeah, but looking AT the statistics, some guys are obviously rated way beyond what they really are to raise overall rating, and some are underrated to keep them lower. Hence, why Jericho's charisma is so damned low. My problem with the Charisma = Finisher bit is..imagine when you fight Rocky. It's going to happen in season mode eventually, right? It's going to be pure hell dodging specials every fifteen seconds or so. People with lower Charisma have MUCH harder times gaining finishers, even if they dominate the match. That isn't quite right..
  7. There's REALLY something wrong with this game. The heat meter, particularly. The match with Booker T? He gets an insane number of finishers, about 3 to your 1. ¬_¬ On that note, some of the stats are just strange. Benoit's charisma is 6.5, and Jericho's is only a 7? What? o_o
  8. I don't like celebrating when a company goes down. (Unless it was EA, in that case..man, it'd be hard to resist..) What about a company like Interplay? A great development team in Black Isle Studios got screwed over, because of large investments in crap like Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel? Yeah, sure..Acclaim may have put out crap, but they're not the only company who puts out less than stellar games. *shrugs* I guess it's hard to be in the video game business, when the largest company can repeatedly screw over their customers, and release barely-upgraded software, and profit from it.. Besides, the LOW games weren't too bad, and actually TRIED to show some actual gameplay improvement, unlike the Smackdown series.
  9. The collision detection is still kind of wacky, and the selection of music is bizzare.. Orton and Batista share the same music, despite being listed seperately. (Especially becuase Batista's got a theme already, not just the Evolution theme.) Ditto with the Bashams. Why put guys on the music list if it's the same fucking thing? Also, the BGM's aren't very good, but it's a million times better than the random screaming shit HCTP and last years WM had. The entrances lag a bit, particularly with fog/fire effects. I also don't think there's as many camera angles as last year, but I'll have to check. Not a bad selection of moves, and it's nice to see some of them actually NAMED right! Also, is it just me, or is it hard to get heat in this game? The CPU seems to get finishers fairly often, but for a CAW, it takes a while. More thoughts later.
  10. Is the entrance creation as in-depth as last year? Man, if they'd have added Raw's custom lighting and music rip to that..it'd have been perfect.
  11. Actually, Bethesda is making Fallout 3, but the version Black Isle was making, we'll never see.
  12. Looking at those screens: Either IGN's just terrible, or the CAW models look like shit compared to the "real" wrestlers again..
  13. I think it's just that Bungie likes to screw with people. I mean, look at the first Halo. o_o (More information: halo.bungie.org's story page) On a serious note, I'm worried about Halo 2. I've heard that 4 player co-op didn't make it in, but that's just OXM.. Personally, I couldn't care less about deathmatch. It's SP and Coop I'm interested in, and there's been little to nothing at this point said about it..
  14. Statement: Kidman's a one-move guy who isn't even the best in the company at preforming his "signature move". His skills aren't up to the rest of the division, and always seems to tag with someone more talented than he is.
  15. It's not like VC ripped whole chunks out of Scarface anyway. Oh, wait..
  16. IGN: Another goodie tied to the weight class system is the attribute cap for created wrestlers. If your wrestler is diva or cruiser weight, for instance, their limit for strength and durability may not be as high as a wrestler of the super heavyweight class. On that same token, however, the super heavyweight wrestler isn't going to be very fast and will have a limit on his speed and technique attributes. These slight adjustments to the creation process should help keep wrestlers of varying sizes and shapes a little more unique and should also help encourage players to try grapplers of different sizes for different results. As for the rest of the Create-A-Superstar details, though, we'll save that for another day.
  17. Putting Snuka and Piper seems a little foolish considering they were in the last games. Why not put in somebody like Dynamite Kid, or heck even someone like Honkey Tonk Man? Dynamite Kid in a WWE game is useless without his partner. Wait, that's just the guy who carbon-copied him. Nevermind. I'm not liking the sound of many of the upgrades of this game. Chop battles? Stat limits for CAWs? (Yeah, and I'm sure the top tier guys will have their stats limited. Right.) I don't like the lame ass button mashing submission system added in HCTP, either. Or the totally useless Bra and Panties match. Well, KOCII is coming out, so there could be one good game this year. Wait and see, I guess.
  18. The important thing is..will the CAW look as bad as last year? They looked pathetic compared to some of the newer modeled wrestlers..
  19. My prediction: Orton wins. At least, I hope so, because I said it as far back as WM..
  20. Imagine body armor being involved, and remember that the right sort of Batarang is analagous to Pred's razor discs. BTW, AVP is, to me, officially the worst Alien or Predator movie of all time. "but yea, I actually liked the movie and thought the 'two characters' aligning was pretty...neat." Yeah. Even if I didn't really dig *that* character, it's still neat to see. There were some things in it I liked, just not enough to make me recommend the movie. ..it's even worse than Ressurection?
  21. I -really- don't like that list. Mainly the fact Eva and Wing rate so high.
  22. That's what I was talking about, actually. I knew I should've elaborated.
  23. There are a LOT of good games that need to come Stateside, but none of them ever will.
  24. The only problem with KOC's CAW, is that like Fire Pro..you can only choose heads. Still, I'll get it.
  25. Ugh. No fucking crash TV, please? You can cram a hundred guys into a two hour space, but that won't make people care about them. You've got to give the fans a reason to care about them in the first place. I'll agree with the "make sense" post up there, as that's the most important idea of the lot. Good, coherent storylines need to be grounded in reality, at least somewhat. This isn't a sitcom or a soap opera, where people may believe a "Winner gets to marry Lita" stip. Nobody's going to believe that. (At least, I hope not!) I'd like to see some particular gimmicks just die and go away. Particularly the "monster hoss" bit that everybody over 6'6" seems to do at one time or another. Just because a big guy squashes a little one dosen't get them over. It's not 1980 anymore. Ditto the little guy underdog, which I loathe. (Must..resist..comment..) The belts need to have some importance again. Why should only one (or two, if it's a three way feud) guy want to hold a title? Give the "number one contender" label a real sense of importance: after all, the person holding the belt gets all the respect, money, and everything else, right? Whoever holds a belt shouldn't have it easy, and should have to defend it more than once a month, convinently at the PPV. Perhaps a bracket system, or something? More later.
