The music was great but the lyrics/singing were awful (not just because of the christianity)

1965 is damn good but everyone should own Afghan Whigs' "Gentlemen" for the music and the message it brings -

spike tv was the frontrunner at one point and would have paid for the rights but that perception problem of the nhl being on that type of network would accelerate its slow death in america

Charles Barkley to Monday Night Football? ABC wants to add some basketball to its "Monday Night Football." Executives at the Walt Disney Co. network have "informally" inquired whether former NBA star Charles Barkley would be interested in joining the network's flagship sports program, ABC and his agent said. "We've been approached about doing something," agent Marc Perman said in a telephone interview, declining to discuss specifics. Barkley is an analyst on TNT's "Inside the NBA." The addition of Barkley, who once responded to complaints from an animal rights group by eating a hamburger on the air, would be another attempt by ABC to bolster ratings with a high- profile announcer without a football background. Barkley would follow comedian Dennis Miller, who was fired after the 2001 season when his highbrow wisecracks failed to draw viewers. "Monday Night Football has always been that mix of sports and entertainment, so this makes sense," said Jay Rosenstein, a former vice president at CBS Sports. "He's got the wit and a sense of fun -- everything you look for in a broadcaster." Mike Pearl, senior vice president of ABC Sports, said he and the 41-year-old Barkley have had "casual chatter" about a "Monday Night Football" post, most recently at the NBA All-Star game in February

and holley pretty much is a co-host hes there for almost all the segments at least in the one i saw...and the boston papers talked about it around when he quit that he would be the "rumored mystery co-host"

anyone been watching? i finally got to catch an episode last friday pretty hard to watch IMO im not a fan of kellerman but like Around the Horn and figured i would give this a shot especially after i heard holley quit the boston globe (again) to be the right hand man along with disembodied voice here's my problems with it everyones way too frantic even judging against the similar shows of the type..especially holley..it seems like someone is always ticking him in unmentionable areas the pause button V.me or whatever it is is arguably the worst gimmick ive ever scene on shows of this ilk..for some reason theres a huge difference between someone getting cut off with a mute on ATH and getting frozen and distorted here that "tap tap tap" for 10 seconds remaining is grating the rhyming of imax on the commercial outs (a la horn's outros) seems forced max's ego and/or the egocentric nature of the show is on steroids now..max vs the world?? yipes just yipes anybody else tried it? liked it at all?

FIVE O'CLOCK SHADOW OF THE DEAD LAST CALL OF THE DEAD DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME OF THE DEAD LEAP YEAR OF THE DEAD

"Thus, nl5 is going to the Cure show in Boston (although it's probably really in Worcester or Mansfield) " pretty sure Great Woods (refuse to say the other name) in Mansfield. last few times in this area they hit great woods twice (once on Wild Mood Swings once on Bloodflowers) the orpheum (the bad-ass BCN xmas show with tanya donnelly where they dug into a lot of older stuff) centrum (wild mood swings)

"I was led to understand that Clemmens didn't ask for this provision. It was offered to him" maybe the rangers were talking about giving him this type of deal to coax him out because roger said he wanted to be close to home as much as possible the astros then offered it probably based on that but i thought i read that he did ask that it was in the wording of his deal? still the same deal though as far as im sure if the money was all even im sure one team over another another would give some concessions i still dont get how he doesnt see that this is easier for a pitcher to be given this set up as opposed to a positional player imagine if someone says "oh bonds makes that pouty face when he strikes out cause he's black and a white man would never do that"??? that person would be seen as such an idiot..he makes that over-reacting face because he is a good hitter and gets frustrated with being shown up by a pitcher here and there (and coincidentally the one who has shown him up the most so far this year:clemmens)

Coughlin is a uber-hard ass but the giants are going to need to toughen up to have any remote shot of not finishing last in the division Eli is my favorite college player in long time so im hoping they improve and think these methods will help the only thing that coughlin does that i DONT agree with is his view/stance on injuries: that they are more mental than anything if he could just temper his views on that id like the guy a whole lot better

When asked about the travel arrangements roger clemmens had into his contract (he does not have to travel on the road games that he is not starting) Bonds said something to the effect of "a man of color would never get thatkind of deal only a white man" (i heard it on the radio and cant find exact quote but if anyone has it please post) i dont see how this has anythign to do with race clemmens got the deal because 1) he insisted on it to come out of "retirement" 2) its only really do-able with a pitcher im sure if bonds asked for a similar deal to stay witht the giants they might consider it or an older minority pitcher with some stature (im sure a pedro martinez could get this down the road)
