    Cure Tour

Time to get out the hairspray and black eyeliner again. Less than a week after headlining the Coachella festival in the Southern California desert, goth pioneers the Cure have unveiled plans for a full U.S. tour this summer. The Curiosa Festival 2004 will feature the Cure headlining a bill that also includes three bands plainly influenced by Robert Smith and company: Interpol, the Rapture and Mogwai. A second stage will also be part of the traveling road show, with Muse, Thursday, Cursive, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Cooper Temple Clause and Head Automatica rotating as performers. The Cure formed in 1976, and only iconoclastic singer/songwriter Smith remains from the group's initial lineup. Simon Gallup, who joined the group in 1979, is the only other longstanding member in the current lineup. The group plans to release a new eponymous album on June 29, the band's first LP since 2000's Bloodflowers. The first single from the album bears the cheery title "The End of the World." The tour kicks off July 24 in the unlikely tropical setting of West Palm Beach, Florida, and ends August 27 in Los Angeles. Venues have yet to be confirmed, and additional dates are still being added. Dates for the Curiosa Festival 2004, according to a band spokesperson: 7/24 - West Palm Beach, FL 7/25 - Tampa, FL 7/28 - Nashville, TN 7/29 - Atlanta, GA 7/31 - New York, NY 8/1 - Camden, NJ 8/3 - Cincinnati, OH 8/4 - Cleveland, OH 8/7 - Boston, MA 8/11 - Detroit, MI 8/12 - Chicago, IL 8/14 - Dallas, TX 8/15 - Houston, TX 8/17 - Denver, CO 8/18 - Salt Lake City, UT 8/27 - Los Angeles, CA

  4. from the Orlando Sentinel Based on a bet by the other members of his threesome, Everett Sanchez tried to wash his own "balls" in a ball washer at the local golf course. Proving once again that beer and testosterone are a bad mix, Sanchez managed to straddle the ball washer and dangle his scrotum in the machine. Much to his dismay, one of his buddies upped the ante by spinning the crank on the machine with Sanchez's scrotum in place, thus wedging them solidly in the mechanism. Sanchez, who immediately passed his threshold of pain, collapsed and tumbled from his perch. Unfortunately for Sanchez, the ball washer was more than a foot higher than his testicles are in a normal stance, and the scrotum was the weakest link. Sanchez's scrotum was ripped open during the fall : one testicle was plucked from him forever and remained in the ball washer, while the other testicle was compressed and flattened as it was pulled between the housing of the washer, and the rotating machinery inside. To add insult to injury, Sanchez broke a new $300 driver that he had just purchased from the pro shop, and was using to balance himself. Sanchez was rushed to the hospital for surgery, and the remaining two members of the threesome were asked to leave the course.
  5. when i saw the pics in wizard or marvel previews or wherever it was i wanted to puke i didnt like his style back in the day and really cant stand it now no more six arm villians/heros, people in the headgear with the big hair/weird hairlines, cat people etc
  6. Starbrand, Psi-Force ,and DP7 were must buys back in my heavy buying youth the new DC focus line reminds me of new universe
  7. next they will have Daredevil be the replacement for umpires at games
  8. "Judging a movie based on box office success is completely assine anyways, so who cares. " yes i agree it's asinine...wanted to make sure it was clear again that im not judging the movie, just judging its potential box office draw.. a movie itself and it's money drawn are not always a reflection of each other even though the good or bad in both can sometimes go hand in hand
  9. i think this movie will take a place alongside Battlefield Earth and Ishtar as far as huge bombs thats not a knock on the quality of the flick if theres anyone out there who is waiting for it/thinks they would like it i just dont see the sell to mass audiences diesel's star has burned out it looks way too "matrix-y" in some previews/commercials (which is a doble edged sword as matrix fans may not like the rip-off-ness and people are probably a little matrix burned out at this point) theres no great selling point of the plot and theyve already decided against going with the less is more previews so you leave people not knowing what it is about (a la Matrix1) not that many people saw Pitch Black and for those who did this looks like the other side of the world in comparison and one thing that may seem small but it CAN hurt a film: the title
  10. Hello Lion's Gate (or another studio of the same ilk to pick it up) I am a big fan of Moore's work BUT not most of his ideas/ideals i disagree strongly with most of his sentiments but can enjoy the films/shows/books highly on an entertainment/interest level
  11. bonds can leave or stay or shit ten bricks for all i care but i would be surprised if he really did leave and didnt play a few years as a DH and just keep plugging away with the home runs
  12. lol on spider man comparisons like how raw would always have to work in crappy usa tv show plugs whats infuriating about this is spider-man 2 would do gonzo business without this so its really not worth it more people will see spider man than these games id almost like it more if it was for a movie that needed help to ensure some money making..like riddick..that thing is screaming "BOMB!"
  13. Everlast has some good stuff like "whitey's revenge"
