The arm wrestling match was a joke, but after seeing Cena last night I can safely say he's at 100%, or if he isn't he's doing a damned good job of hiding it. -
Quick blurbs before I head home for the day

Damn you got hosed. Being married netted me a cool $1,300 or so in extra refund. -
Some of their World Series choices are odd, and while I can understand while I may never see 95, although it might get a release someday, there's no damned excuse for not releasing the 91 series.

1/28: Getting The Most Mileage Out Of An Old Sing-A-Long

Wow what a rip. I see non-profits that give better rates than that. Did they ever actually pay people that rate, or was it like the marketing guy who had a travel budget he couldn't actually use? -

The federal rate for 2008 is 50.5. It was 48.5 in 2007 and I think 44.5 in 2006. It was closer to 40.5 in 2005 other than a surge at the end of the year, so I'll guess 37.5 just for fun. -
I'm pretty sure it was fixed in the Genesis version, as that was the one I used to play all the time.

Review: WWE Cyber Sunday 2007, from Washington D.C., 11/28/2007.

The event won't matter to the fans unless a major title changes hands in a match where the contender was voted by the fans. (I'm not too familier with the history of the show, has this happened before?) Personally I stopped caring about the concept after fans got to vote on who Foley would be and they didn't pick Dude Love. -
1/26: #3, You Thought I Was Kidding About Mal Voyage? (Part I)

Believe me you are NOT alone in not understanding and hating people that try to bring piano sized luggage on flights. I see it all the time, and it pisses me off. It makes me have to board as soon as possible so I can get SOME overhead bin space. What's really great is when it's obvious the luggage won't fit no matter what you do, but the idiot stands there, blocking the people behind him from boarding of course, and tries to cram it in there. And then gets mad when the fly attendent says they'll have to check it. Another thing I've started seeing lately is people trying to bring more than the allowed number of carry ons (1 bag plus 1 personal item) on board. I sure love fighting for overhead space for my one medium sized bag! The best was a few weeks ago on a flight to bethel. It was on a full sized 737, and just me and ONE other person were sharing this overhead bin. TWO people you would think could fit all their shit no problem since usually one bin is for about 6 people worth of seats. And ALL I put up there was my laptop case. I get there first, put it in, and sit down. Then this old hen comes in and starts putting bag after bag after bag of shit up there, then has the fucking nerve to tell me to move my bag so she can get her bag of EGGS (see why I called her a hen? ME SO FUNNY) in there upright. So I say fine whatever fuck you I'll be the better man and put my laptop bag under the seat in front of me so she can have the ENTIRE FUCKING BIN. I sit down and think I'm done dealing with this shit, as she's sitting at the window and I'm in the aisle so I have a gap, but no then she pulls out her fucking dog and puts him on the middle seat. I have nothing against people who take small pets on planes, just put them in the overhead bin in their travel bag like everyone else does, I see cats travel fine like that all the time. But no this dog has to sit right next to me. Thankfully the flight attendents saw all this and had pity for me and asked "would you like to move to a better sit?" OH YES THANK CHRIST THANK YOU. So I got to sit in the back row reserved for the flight attendents and away from crazy egg dog lady. Wow that was quite the rant, fuck air travelers who don't follow the rules and have no respect for other travelers. As for delayed flights I feel your pain on that one too. But look on the bright side: it could be MUCH worse than being stuck at LaGuardia. If I get delayed in the Anchorage airport I'm fine, but if I'm delayed in say, Bethel, then I'm fucked. The Bethel airport has exactly 0 stores, and actually consists of one giant room. You walk through the front door and there's the ticket counter, baggage claim, security, and gate all right there. So if you get stuck there there is nothing at all to do, other than brave the freezing cold (in the winter) and walk to this pizza place a few blocks away that has a TV. And Bethel's airport is bigger than any other airport I've been to in this state besides Anchorage, if you can believe that. What airline were you flying anyway? -
You didn't mention that epic pose down at the 89 Rumble! I think the 92 Rumble was also where the fans first started to turn on Hogan a little bit as well. Our lord and savior hero Hogan gets pissy about being eliminated and if I remember correctly the crowd seemed to be on Sids side.

And squashing wrestlers you like all the time as a heel is any better? I'm 99.9% sure he wins the rumble, but 100% sure that he either wins or retains the title at WM. Most likely wins. God forbid HHH not be the showcase of WM once again. -

I wish I had USA HD, because I'm curious how the product looks in HD. Although I had no interest in watching HHH go over THREE guys in HD, so maybe it'd better to be stuck with SD. We all knew HHH was going to make it back into the match, and personally I know he's winning the whole thing, which seriously curbs my interest in the show this Sunday. The fact that it is also a forgone conclusion that Orton is retaining is depressing as well. I'll still order the show, but my expectations have been lowered. And really, hasn't HHH gone over Regal clean about 1,000 times in the last 3 months? Whose coffee did he piss in to get this treatment? -
I intend to avoid the game like the plague unless my boss throws another superbowl party this year. I can watch the commercials that don't suck online pretty much immediantly after the game. And Tom Petty as the half-time show doesn't pull me in either. I'd rather go to the office and get work done then watch this game.

Will you be able to access TSM from your new place of employment?

I'm excited for the Rumble, but the fact that HHH is going to win really kills the excitement for me. That and the fact that even if he loses, he'll still get into the WM main event somehow. Still, I'm trying to look on the bright side and enjoy Hardy and Orton beating the piss out of each other. Although I'm pretty certain that Orton retains, even if the smart move is putting the belt on Hardy and striking while the iron is hot.

Go Raiders and 49ers.

I'm ok with naming after an athlete you admire. What I think is retarded is all the people who named their son ESPN or ESPeN. And for the record, even though I will not be having kids for a LONG time, Smuesette has suggested if we ever have a boy naming him Maddux after Greg Maddux. Yes, Smuesette made the suggestion, not me.

Review: WCW Bash at the Beach 1994, from Orlando, Florida, 7/17/1994.

The main event of Starcade was Hogan vs. whatever the fuck Ed Leslie was calling himself at that point (zodiac? booty man? man with no face?) That should tell you plenty about the direction of the company right there. And that's before the Dungeon of Doom bullshit. And of course we can't forget Ric Flair losing the title here, losing a career match in a ppv or two, and then returning in a dress! Oh and Hogan beating Vader in a match by pinning Ric Flair. Yeah. (Or maybe it was a strap match and he threw Ric Flair into the turnbuckle, I don't remember but it was awful either way) -

Oh god the beginning of the 94-96 Hogan era. Everyone knew we were fucked when Hogan's first match (or maybe it was just first PPV match, I can't remember) in the company was jobbing out Ric Flair. After a terrible 1993 the company had managed to turn it around and put out a decent product, and then Hogan comes in and brings all his friends with him and downhill it goes. And of course made sure to get clean victories over Ric Flair all the time, can't forget to mention that. Oh, and you mentioned the 'foreign object' but wasn't 1994 back when they were "international objects?" WCW was so amazing, in all the wrong ways. -

I recall hearing that too. Something to do with Watts not wanting them to upstage whitey. Damn I wish I could see those drop kicks. Someone needs to put them on Youtube. Which Bash at the Beach are you reviewing? -

Haven't seen the show, but having HHH beat Orton first for the title than losing it back in the same show seems pretty stupid to me. Starcade 92...I'm drawing a blank on the main event (Vader vs someone? Maybe Ron Simmons?) but I've always heard that Eric Watts hits the absolute worst drop kick of all time during that show. I'll have to read your report and see if you thought it was as bad as legend says. Edit: Oh ok it was the battle bowl show. And with a Sting/Vader match, so it must be good. And I guess Ron Simmons hadn't lost the belt to Vader yet, as apparantly it's Ron Simmons vs. Steve Williams? That's got to suck.
