  1. From WWF Magazine: Mankind: (Quote after beating Lawler in KOTR97 Semis) I believe it was the cute, cuddly Simba who once said, I just can't wait to be King.
  2. Fuse a Fatal Four Way and a Tag Team match, and there you go. Isn't it a tag gauntlet match? They'll probably change the rules. Harry Doyle: Nobody's watchin' anyways.
  3. DAMN IT! I missed the Richards beatdown, PLEASE rerun that on Raw tomorrow.
  4. Side Question: How come they never show the fat kids in those commercials?
  5. The only thing I didn't agree with was their treatment of Bret Hart. If they wanted him back at WMXX so bad, you'd think that they'd at least portray the guy in a positive light. But that's WWE's stupidity for ya. Everything else was fair enough.
  6. Ahem . . . Razor Ramon was in the 1997 Royal Rumble Match, dontchaknow. Sorry bout that.
  7. Well, what do you expect? Gene: Welcome to Confidential. Tonight, we look at 1996. Bah, what a shitty year for WWE. Nitro was taking off and the nWo was all the craze. However, there were some decent matches in 1996 . . . The Best There Is, The Best There Was, and The Best There Ever Will Be, Bret The Hitman Hart had excellent feuds with the likes of the blonde haired guy from the Rockers and Stunning Steve Austin. But when you add guys like Freddie Joe Floyd, The Goon, Salvatore Sincere, Who, and others, it was no wonder WWE couldn't get it on track. WCW was a juggernaut. Despite what you hear in this broadcast about Sunny and Sable, rest assured that Kimberly Page, Woman, and Elizabeth were far superior in terms of beauty and grace. You'll see video packages on Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Hey, remember when he jobbed to Alex Wright at Starrcade 1994? Confidential does and you'll see that match here. Plus, in this hour, we'll examine the rivalry between the Undertaker and Mankind. You may know Mankind as best selling author Mick Foley. But one can't forget that at the time of these matches, Hulk Hogan had just formed the nWo and Nitro was hotter than ever so you've probably never seen these early Mankind matches before. You'll see them here. Here we go . . .
  8. Boy, if you didn't know any better, you'd think Mankind won via submission.
  9. Hart showed up at NBR 2000 in August and I don't think Savage ever came back.
  10. Last week, the teaser said it would be entirely dedicated to 1996. But that means very little really.
  11. I have read all the specs, but to be honest, I thought it sounded too good to be true. After reading these couple of replies, I'll get it. You won't regret it.
  12. Really appreciate it . . . I'd love to hear more eps. Thanks.
  13. At the time . . . Hulk Hogan vs. Butcher I know it's rubbish, but I still find the ending of Halloween Havok 1994 funny as well as the ensuing Clash where the ARMSTRONG BROTHERS attempt to save. Plus, I marked for Butcher's theme music. Simple, but effective. The Starrrcade match is garbage, but the feud was fun.
  14. From Survivor Series 1989: Gorilla: (Referring to Zeus) What's that Z on his head? Jesse: That's a Z for Zeus. Gorilla: Well, I know that. Jesse: Zeus starts with Z.
  15. I do like the house show style sound effects the mat makes during Heat.
  16. Darn, I was hoping this would be the 1st Heat thread with only one post. Maybe next week.
  17. Mark down a vote for Mr. Perfect at Royal Rumble 2002. I REALLY marked out when he made it to the final 3.
  18. A lot funnier than HHH talking smack...to the turnbuckle. OK That was funny too, but Martel's was better. Did the Santana/Martel feud EVER end? It seemed likeevery now and then they fought each other on T.V or beat each other up in the Rumble match. That feud and the HBK/Jannetty feud are timeless. For WMXX, they should have The Rockers vs. Strike Force and let Tito and Marty walk out on their partners for once.
  19. And to think, I thought it would be HHH and Brock Lesnar there playing Smackdown: HCTP against each other. Right after the F5, HHH would pull Brock's controller plug and win with a Pedigree.
  20. I think you're thinking of Jim Neidhart. He wasn't responsible for the fall of WCW, but he sure didn't help. People just seemed to tune out when he was on . . . probably due to the ill advised goatee. Bah da . . . dummmmm
  21. Yeah, by 1997 the fans were sick and tired of the nWo. But they accepted it because they knew Sting vs. Hogan was a perfect fit for a MegaEvent like Starrcade. And they knew Sting would DESTROY Hogan and the nWo would fall apart at the seams as a result of it. Unfortunately, it never happened that way and the rest is history.
  22. Thanks . . . I'm surprised no one has tried to make an edit using his Souled Out 1999 entrance. I have the home video version of it and you can barely hear the announcers over any of the themes. Probably a production botchup, I know, hard to believe for WCW in 1999.
  23. Yeah, it kinda sounded a bit Oriental. I used to get pissed when he'd make his entrance on Nitro, then they'd always cut off his theme when he was only halfway to the ring. Juvy's was catchy as well.
  24. Next week . . . we enter 1996. Of all the years to choose, WHY 1996? Oh well, the Stone Cold stuff oughta be good. Hey, didn't Bret take a lengthy hiatus in 1996? I think I just answered my own question. EDIT --- Did anyone else think we were going to see a Curt Hennig tribute next week? They show a clip of Perfect with HHH and the narrator says, "Next week we will dedicate the entire hour to . . ."
  25. The only theme I'm specifically looking for is Psychosis's WCW theme. But I figure no one has that C&C. But I take whatever I can get my hands on.
