  1. I think it was the GAB 1996.
  2. Rubbies?
  3. Dr Tom did an A-1 impression of heel Dusty as Reo Rogers. I had downloaded a torrent of the Survivor Series Showdown 1993 so that along w/ the Raws went together like PB & J.
  4. Here's the next poll for October: http://fans.wwe.com/wwe247online/blog/2008...er_october_poll Who do you want to see in Introducing? October 24/7 Online Victoria Jerry "The King" Lawler (WWE Debut) D-Lo Brown Chavo Guerrero I'll probably stuff the ballot box for D-Lo Brown later tonight since Lawler's debut is on a Raw ep already posted. And eh, no thanks on Chavo and Victoria.
  5. *BUMP* In the last six days, I watched all 18 eps including the last 3 in a row just now and what a fantastic series. Story arcs, character development, cringe worthy moments, & out and out entertainment. Not much of an ending, but whatcanyado. Bill and Mr Weir definitely stole the show w/ Mr Rosso coming in a close 2nd . . . or 3rd I guess. I'll probably edit this post in a day or two w/ markout moments but I just wanted to create a reply so I didn't have to go searching for this thread again.
  6. Shit, I was afraid of that. Fuckin cheapskates at TWC. You'd think they could at least add it to their $5/mo HD Tier.
  7. Surprisingly yes. I have a 40" Sony HD and it looks great. Sure, digital cable would probably look a hair or two better but it's still much better quality than finding even a 1st gen bootleg of the same material. IIRC, the cord I bought was between $30-40. Combine that with being able to make a playlist on WMP and my lazy ass doesn't have to leave the couch to load up each match/video. Almost like making your own comps.
  8. About as much as I remember Al Perez's 1989 WWF run.
  9. Hmmm, that's odd. I have DSL through AT&T and it runs at 1.5 doohickeys (supposed to be up to 3 but actually runs a shade over 1.5) and I rarely have a problem. When I do, I disconnect my connection and reconnect and it's good as new. Combine that w/ the wire to connect my laptop to my tv and I'm not even bummed that I can't get the cable version of WWE 24/7. Maybe you need one of those $5/mo upgrades. *shrugs* EDIT - Oh yeah, make sure you don't have any torrents running.
  10. I saw the 10/84 MLG show w/ Davey Boy Smith & Dynamite Kid (not dubbed The British Bulldogs) against Goldie Rogers & Bobby Bass. Awkward as fuck when the heels had the advantage if I remember right. But yeah Lyons/Reynolds are a fun old school commentary duo.
  11. I miss Larry Nelson. 1987 may have been more dull but 1990's AWA just looks desperate. I'll take the has-beens of 1987 and nightly Dangerously promos over The Texas Hangmen, countless John Nord matches, and the ridiculous TCS. Anyone else see Flapjack Scott Norton last night? Yikes.
  12. For as much as I want to add something to this thread, these shows have been so non-descript that I can't think of anything interesting that happened in the last week or so. I think they skipped past April as Larry Z is the champ once again. And I hope to the heavens Ralph Stargis never does ring announcing again.
  13. Not sure if this applies to all Time Warner customers, but yesterday they added USA HD as well as Olympic basketball and soccer channels in HD. Not sure if USA HD is going to get yanked once the Olympics are over or not.
  14. I just checked the SD roster on wwe.com and Crazy is listed there. News to me.
  15. They should have just let them stay The Major Brothers.
  16. Kayfabe rules! God bless Mean Gene!
  17. Kosar trying to squeeze in a random Caddyshack reference just for the hell of it was my highlight. And another gem . . . "Being a finance major, I know that the red on the map has to mean bad weather is on its way"
  18. Now, that SummerSlam show definitely reminds me of a Coliseum Video. Old school host, old school music, and matches from the CV era as well. That said, it's skippable but not must-skip. Here's the latest in regards to the October voting: http://fans.wwe.com/wwe247online/blog/2008...ts_time_to_vote I must say the thought of having an entire MSG show pleases me as long as it's not SurSer02 or something like that. I love the Hulkamania era shows from MSG. The place looked like a dark, damp dump. And I'm a mark for the Exit sign. And I'll probably stuff the ballot box to vote for more Wrestling Challenge eps when that time comes.
  19. I guess he joins Frankie Kazarian as former TNA employees to be cut from WWE while still sporting an undefeated record on WWE TV.
  20. Someone should wrestle in the indies as Rufus McDufus.
  21. Speak of the devil, EZ E just let us know that after the break, it's the return of . . . DJ Peterson to the AWA. At least his theme song is better. "TNT" sure beats "The Locomotive".
  22. Someone needs to upload the two classic SummerSlam themes on You Tube or something (88-89 and 90-94).
  23. I remember seeing the MSG 10/87 show where Heenan promised a big surprise . . . that being Bockwinkle who then filled in for Heenan on commentary. He and Monsoon made a good team since Bockwinkle had a knack for keeping Gorilla on his toes. He also did the 11/87 show as well. He also commentated a couple matches from tv tapings that ended up on the Best of the WWF Volume 14 CV.
  24. That's it, Kofi's new role! "Jamie Noble, you come out here and you talk yourself up every week. It makes the women crazy, makes the fans crazy. Jamie, you're even Jamaican me crazy..... wait a minute... Did I just say... JAMAICAN ME CRAZY!" *Kofi runs in from the crowd and lays Noble out with a sloppy spin kick* I'm sorry, but nothing will ever top Bischoff's invasion of Billy & Chuck's wedding. Umanga dropping Steph was glorious.
