It's true, people will vote for Kerry to get Bush out of office, not because they particularly like the guy or know anything about him. Punitive voting will lead to a very unhappy country if he wins and doesn't set the world on fire with his presidency.

Find someone in Iraq who can engineer something like that. Also keep in mind that such a move would bring complete and utter destruction to Iraq if they ever planned and such a thing. Other stuff might be hard to keep track of, but nuclear materials are usually traceable. They'd be complete idiots to attack us with a nuclear device as a complete surprise, and even they recognized that. Post 9/11, I also think they'd have a hard time getting that stuff into the country.

Anyway, no, it doesn't worry me because rogue nations have been trying to go nuclear for years and years since the Western powers made it clear early in the Atomic Age that they were only going to share the information with what were considered responsible nations. Also, the material is useless in an offensive capacity without the technology and know-how to actually covert it for military use. How many nations have had the materials but had to figure it out for themselves? Look at how long it took them to do, and they had much better physicists and engineers in their employ than Iraq had under Hussein I'm sure.

If anything, you'd think they want Turkey involved since they're a Muslim nation and France has a reputation as the most anti-Semitic country in western Europe (it would be all of Europe, but Russia exists) over hundreds and hundreds of years of their history.
