Speaking of the success of the Americas X Cup, I hear there's already talk of another international tournament taking place in TNA in the near future. We might even get some news as early as this Wednesday night! Rumor even has it that a THIRD country could be involved in this even bigger event! -from Bill Bank's column It will probably end up Canada, but there is hope.
-
Yep, kind of makes the new DOA kind of pointless in a way.
-
They should have done a tournament with EMLL. They seem to have the best Mexican talent.
-
It might be just me, but I find Smackdown boring as fuck. I wouldn't necessarily call Raw good, but I find it more entertaining than Smackdown.

I've confirmed with several sources that Ernest Miller was informed he was being released at last night's Smackdown taping in Tacoma, Washington. Miller had handled commentary duties on Velocity prior to being moved into the Smackdown roster as a full-time worker. His lone PPV match for the company was at the Royal Rumble last month in Philadelphia. Miller joins Zach Gowen and Chris Kanyon as talent released from WWE within the last week. It is believed one of the reasons so many talents are being released is that several workers from OVW will be brought up to the main roster shortly. pwinsider.com

CBS sent out a press release mentioning TNA also: (CBS) "Survivor: All-Stars" continues Thursday night, with an episode that promises to be full of surprises. In an effort to handicap the hunt for the ultimate "Survivor" champ, The Early Show sought the opinions of some of the game's other greats. Jon Dalton, from "Survivor: Pearl Islands," and Gervase Peterson, from "Survivor: Borneo," offered their takes on the current "Survivor" season Thursday morning. The man America loved to hate on "Survivor: Pearl Islands" appeared wearing a cervical collar, pointing out that is one reason he is not in “All-Stars.” “I have a one-year wrestling contract I need to take advantage of.” says Dalton, who has taken his "Jonny Fairplay " persona to pay-per-view wrestling for TNA (Total Nonstop Action). Co-anchor Harry Smith says he never thought he would say it, but he misses seeing Dalton on the show. “Everybody misses me,” Dalton agrees. Of the "All-Stars" cast, Dalton says those easily recognized as the villains are "editing themselves because they are scared of making the same mistake twice. But the island won't let you do that for long, so we'll get the real people, I think, this week." Peterson agrees, "You can't fake it for too long," he says. He notes the “All-Stars” game has been a bit boring for him. Richard Hatch for one, he says, is as annoying in Panama as he was in Borneo. "But it’s different this time because everybody knows what you’re about, from watching you play on the show before. So it’s, like, why would you play it that way again?” The person who is keeping both Dalton and Peterson enthralled is Amber, whose posted odds of winning on the Internet have been as high as 100-1. Peterson says, “Amber has a great shot, just because of the fact she’s Amber. You don’t know she’s there half the time. She’s under the radar; doesn’t offend anybody; nor gets on anybody’s nerves. She’s very quiet. Hanging out with [boston] Rob can only help you.” Dalton agrees, but notes, “Haven’t these players learned from the past. Like, OK if you make yourself kind of quiet, everyone likes you, you’re a threat because, you know…” Peterson interjects, “People don’t realize that until later on, when it’s too late. The crazy thing about this show is every second affects every minute of every day out there, every action of the game. Everything can be going great, I can say something to Jonny, Richard can overhear it and it blows the plan out the water. The whole game plan changed.“ Rupert, with his home-field advantage, is another player who Dalton says is playing the game well. Though Dalton admits he doesn’t like the man himself. “Not a fan. Not a fan,” he says. Peterson adds, “Nobody knows anything about Rupert. He’s the X-factor. Rupert can do anything he wants. He did a great deal with sticking with Rudy, not breaking his word. Jenna and everybody knows that he’s a trustworthy guy and can now stab them in the back.” Another player they both like is Jenna Lewis. “I hated her the first time she was around. Got on my nerves, too happy all the time, a pain in my BUTT,” Peterson says, adding that now it is different, “I just appreciate her idea of getting rid of the winners. If you’ve won already, you’re gone. That guarantees you being there three more times.” The obvious targets are the winners. Dalton says, “If you’re smart, you get rid of them, definitely the hardest thing is picking somebody to vote for. You don’t want to do that. That’s the easy vote. Think about it, it’s an easy excuse: You won already.” But not all previous winners have a hard time. While Ethan struggles, Richard has been lounging. Dalton notes, “He’s there for a free vacation on CBS’s dime.” Peterson sees former Borneo-mates Rich and Sue as contestants just waiting to be voted off. Next for Dalton is wrestling again next week, even though he's still suffering from his last gig - “concussion and back spasms for three weeks,” he says. Peterson has returned to his hometown of Willingboro, N.J., and has acted in a couple of independent films. He has also been endorsing headblade.com. ©MMIV, CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Dave Meltzer said it was one of TNA's best shows ever and he said all of the matches were much better than he was led to believe. He seemed to really like it. I wish I had the internet or tv so I could watch it, but I'm stuck using library computers for now.
-
It went over pretty well. Only thing he could have done better was plug the website.
-
Any feuds with him would be awesome pretty much. AJ vs Kanyon, Raven vs Kanyon, Jarrett vs Kanyon.
-
Noone from Raw has been released yet. I'm guessing they'll get notified at Raw. 4 guys have been cut from Smackdown, so something similar should happen on the Raw side. I'd guess Rico as one.
-
Wow 4-6 more. That WWE faction in TNA could become a reality. Be pretty wild if like 8 WWE guys showed up at TNA at once. 4 have already been released in like the last 2 weeks.
-
There are like 5 people on Kanyon's messageboard that said they would start ordering if Kanyon shows up and I imagine there are more around the internet that would as well. Kanyon has a pretty big fanbase. Besides he would improve the quality of the shows by being on.

02.10.04 | EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH JEFF JARRETT TNA'S EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT TALKS ABOUT HOGAN, PIPER, NASH, HALL AND MORE! This past Monday night, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett stepped out of the wrestling spotlight and into his daily role as TNA Executive Vice President to speak with "Wrestling News Live" about a number of TNA topics and rumors currently making rounds on the internet. The hosts spoke to the TNA leader on topics such as Hulk Hogan, Sting, Randy Savage, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and other current and future opportunities for the company. Jarrett addressed each issue openly and candidly, and gave fans a true insight into TNA. Each week, NWATNA.com receives hundreds of emails concerning many of these rumors, and the Executive Vice President answered them with some surprising comments. NWATNA.com would like to thank the crew at wrestlingnewslive.com for supporting TNA, as well as Adam Martin at wrestleview.com for transcribing the interview. JEFF JARRETT ON: THE RUMORS OF HULK HOGAN APPEARING AT BOUND FOR GLORY Jarrett said it's TBD...to be determined. He mentioned how the events involving Hogan coming to TNA got really hot and heavy during the months of October and November, but unfortunately the relationship never fully blossomed as they would have hoped. He said never say never when it comes to Hogan coming to TNA. STING'S STATUS WITH TNA Jarrett said there is an ongoing relationship between Sting and TNA about possible appearances with the company in the future. He said that Sting has his priorities on several different things at the moment, but noted how he is definitely back on the wrestling scene in terms of making appearances for TNA. A TYPICAL DAY AT THE TNA OFFICE Jarrett said it all depends on what day he is speaking of. He said if it's on Wednesday, it starts around 8 a.m. and doesn't get done until about 11 p.m. because a lot of careful planning takes place on the day of the show. He said the thing he enjoys the most about the business is the in-ring performance and is always on top of that part on a weekly basis. Jarrett mentions how Monday and Tuesday are mostly the creative and production days for the company. Jarrett said Thursday and Friday are mostly the business days that have to do with advertising, internet and other important things to the company. He mentioned how last Friday he ended up doing two business meetings and ended up wrestling in Mississippi the same night. Jarrett said that day started at four in the morning on Friday and ended sometime on Saturday morning. THE RUMORS OF RANDY SAVAGE AND TNA Jarrett said Savage has always marched to the beat of his own drummer and knows how focused he is at this time on his music career. He mentioned how the icon word has been thrown around loosely as of late with other wrestlers, but feels Savage deserves that title just as much as anybody else that has been around as long as he has. Jarrett said he would love to retire Savage just like how he retired Hulk Hogan and said he would leave it at that. TNA GETTING A TELEVISION DEAL Jarrett said that the only way a TV deal would go down for TNA is if it was right for both parties involved. He said a new player has just stepped up in the last two weeks that has shown interest in the TNA product. Jarrett said nothing has been finalized as of yet, but did say negotiations have started back up in a big way in the last two to three months. He mentioned how a lot of things go into finalizing a TV deal and said how they are still in the organizing stages of that at the moment if a TV deal does end up taking place. JONNY FAIRPLAY IN TNA Jarrett said people either love the Fairplay character or just plain hate him. He said Jonny has some background in the wrestling industry and feels that his longevity with the company will soon be proved in the coming months. Jarrett mentions how Fairplay has great charisma and relates his character to the legendary type managers such as Jimmy Hart, Jim Cornette and Freddie Blassie. He said he can't wait for the debut of Fairplay's new show, titled Playing Fair with Jonny, that will debut on TNA on February 18th. WHEN WILL WE SEE PIPER NEXT? Jarrett brought up how Piper made a statement the last time he was at TNA, saying how he fought a lot of battles for himself to get the name of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and mentioned how he has one big fight left in him still. He mentioned how Piper wants to pay a tribute to the guy that got him started in the business, the NWA. Jarrett said Piper would no doubt be back with the company very soon. ON RUMORS OF KEN SHAMROCK, KEVIN NASH AND SCOTT HALL APPEARING AT BOUND FOR GLORY Jarrett said TNA will be releasing a statement regarding the event very soon with a full rundown of the talent roster expected to be at the event. He mentioned how there have been others rumored to be at the show besides Shamrock and The Outsiders and is hoping to clear everything up very soon once the statement is released. ON RAVEN GETTING ANOTHER TITLE SHOT Jarrett said Raven would definitely be getting a shot in the near future, but mentioned how he defended the title against him last year and was able to still walk away the champion. nwatna.com Sounds good:)

Yep. When WWE releases a good wrestler TNA should pick them up. It is stupid to say otherwise.
-
"Jonny Fairplay, formerly of Survivor and now a regular on the weekly Wednesday night NWA-TNA PPVs, will be writing a weekly column for The Star tabloid covering Survivor. He may get a chance to also plug his TNA work within those columns. " credit: pwtorch.com I know alot of rednecks buy the tabloid, so some of them should be interested in TNA.
-
Kanyon...TNA...2/18...YES! Fuck I wish I had tv or the internet at my house so I could watch TNA.
-
He should bring NWA:TNA shirts for the hosts as well as mention Chyna coming in on 2/18 and the Urlacher appearance. This will be the biggest mention TNA will get if it happens.
-
Since WWE won't resign him most likely after WM, it would be great timing for him to debut for TNA like the week after, shocking the shit out of everyone who doesn't know he is leaving.
-
TNA could bring in jobbers for Goldberg to squash for free and they would be delighted to do it just to get on tv.
-
Told you http://forums.thesmartmarks.com/index.php?...topic=43331&hl=

-There were some rumors that TNA was looking to put a group of former WWE wrestlers together for some sort of faction. With Brian "Spanky" Kendrick and Zach Gowen now free agents, they might be part of such a group that would debut before the April three-hour PPV (which still hasn't been officially announced publicly yet). Gowen wrestled in NWA-TNA before signing with WWE. pwtorch.com
-
The observer says that Chyna debuts on 2/18 in an interview segment with Johnny Fairplay.
-
Yeah right like it will be Eric Bischoff. TNA teased a surprise as him before. They wish they got Bischoff, but it ain't happening.
-
He hasn't really had any other characters besides his redneck self and Goldust. As Se7en he never really got a chance to do anything from what I've read, since it was scrapped after one night.
