Well, I definitely think it's fair to say that you put over the no-shows more than at least some of them ought to be.

Wrestlers with extreme heat and where and why it started?..
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
No, I don't chant at my television. I have no problem admitting that I still mark for Bret Hart, but not that fucking hard. Maybe so, but I think that it's debateable whether something that could clearly be determined to be an isolated and unique incident would be enough to brand somebody as being a sloppy worker or unprofessional; I mean, if I'd been wrestling for 10-15+ years like Owen had, and after having a spotless record, I took liberties with a particular wrestler over a highly publicized personal issue, I don't think that that would earn me the reputation of being a sloppy worker. Or maybe not even unprofessional. -

ITT. I went to Georgia Tech out of high school, but I dropped out after a year and a half. Twelve years later, I'm finally back in school... Go me.

How could you have never heard of The Little Red Hen? Didn't your parents ever read to you when you were a child? To be fair, though, I've seen some variations: the version that I had as a kid had [fox, goose, pig], but I've also seen [duck, dog, cat], and even [dog, cat, rat]. And, of course, Walt Disney's version just had Pig and (Donald) Duck, IIRC.

The OAO Official SWF 2006 Party Birthday Thread
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to Toxxic's topic in Community/General
Huh; Pete shares a birthday with my Pops... interesting. This gets me to thinking, though: am I the only writer whose character is younger than he/she is? -
Ah.

Wrestlers with extreme heat and where and why it started?..
Mr. S£im Citrus replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Well, you do what's right for you, and I'll do what's right for me... if somebody did to my brother what Shawn did to Bret, that person could expect a "misunderstanding" whenever I saw him. If that cost me my job... I'm sure I could find another job doing something. But, you know what? I sincerely doubt that there's another promotion in the world that would have been unwilling to hire Owen if he'd taken liberties with Shawn Michaels. Nor do I believe that most people would have been unwilling to work with him, because I'm sure that most people would have been able to understand where he was coming from, and even sympathise with him. -
Jury finds Amanda Yates not guilty

Somebody didn't read the thread's subtitle. -
Yahoo! News: Jury finds Yates not guilty in drownings I call bullshit; not guilty?

Not I, said the fox.

Well, the first "official" SWF PPV was Battleground '02, which featured six title matches: the Clan (Spider Nekura & Thoth) defending the Tag Team Titles against The Prophet and Savior, Sarah and Pete for the Hardcore Title (so that's where all the beef comes from... ), Jay Dawg vs K-Os and Lady Red in a Triple Threat for the US Title, the two greatest Cruisers of all time, ELM and Fallout, 2/3 falls for the LHW Title, Sacred and Edwin for the ICTV Title, and Thugg vs Xstasy vs Grand Slam for the "Big Gold Belt." So, just judging by the card, I'd say it's a pretty good show, but form your own opinion; I'd read it just for the ELM/Fallout match... did I mention that they're the two greatest Cruisers of all time?

The short version? A gang of people no-showed, most notorious of which was Johnny, who no-showed the main event as the defending World Heavyweight Champion. Not our finest hour.

Well, speaking just for myself, I didn't comment on it because the whole thing went over my head. In fact, having read his most recent promo... it's still over my head.

JBL - I'm really starting to get into him on color; he's arguably the best heel color that the 'E has had since Ventura left, and unquestionably the best heel color since Heenan left. Matt Hardy - I guess I'm the only one, and that's okay; I think that Papacita's the only guy besides me that liked Chyna, so I'm cool with standing alone on this issue. Speaking of which... John Cena - Screw you guys; I like Cena. I generally can't stand the "sports entertainment" aspects of pro wrestling, but Cena's my guilty pleasure. Plus, I think the beat for his ring music is badass. Gregory Helms - I've always liked Helms; if they let him do the Vertebreaker, I could die happy. Okay, that's a little over-the-top, but you get the point. Shelton Benjamin - My favorite performer on RAW, bar none. In fact, ever since I got DVR, I never watch RAW live any more; I just skip ahead to Shelton's matches. Mickie James - I think she's great; she's lost a little something since the height of her feud with Trish, but she still entertains me. Plus, I've always loved women's wrestling, and she's the best one on the roster right now; I just wish that McMahon would take women's wrestling more seriously (or, since that's never going to happen, that Joshi was easier for me to get my hands on). Charlie Haas - I enjoy his work, what can I say? There are some guys that I just think get unfairly buried: Hardy is one, Haas is another. Finlay - I just love watching an old school guy stiffing the shit out of people. Or even just making it look like he is. Pitbulls - These two seem like they're a perfect fit for each other, and I love their style. London and Kendrick - see Pitbulls. Super Crazy - Like with Helms, I've been a Crazy mark since I first heard of him.

We could always go to Vancouver: G3 was damned good, too.

Thugg's wrestling weight was 386. While I'll grant you that's damned close, he was never 400+ as an active character. That period leading to the the G-IV angle with Mark and King, he was 400+ pounds, but as a wheelchair-ridden "retired" character. And, by the way, Bastion's wretling weight... was 385. Now, about that nickel... -
SWF Smarkdown Card 7-24-2006

Intersting; I don't know if we've ever truly had a 400+ pound monster heel since I've been here. -
Maybe. Of course, I've also moved six times since I left high school, and that's not even counting basic or my training commands. Or maybe they just didn't have that big an impression on me; I don't even remember all the people that were in my IT 102 class last quarter, and half of them are in my IT 109 class this quarter! I don't think I could pick four guys from my high school calc class out of a lineup, even if there were only five guys in the lineup.
