I mention the M38 as it would be cool to have a true almost WWII Soviet rifle. Currently I'm in the process of purchasing a Baikal (Russian version) Makarov 9x18 (basically 9mm) semi auto handgun. They are very reliable and and can eat dirty ammo without jamming much like a Glock. Other guns... not so much. The range on them is poor past about 15 yards but they make for good self defense or carry weapons and are fun as hell to shoot as a buddy of mine has a Bulgarian Makarov. Edit: This is what the Bulgarian looks like... Russian is a bit different. Usually nickel or chrome plated. Edit again... sorry nickel or chrome is the Miltex Bulgarians.

Hey... if they sent one basket of rice for a family that's house burned to the ground as a show of empathy then maybe I would care a bit more. How do you know we can afford it? Wouldn't we better off building housing for our own instead?
