  1. I hate going to the secret board and seeing there are no new posts. Makes me read threads like this.
  2. I'm drinking Boddingtons right now.
  3. The Pixies' "Head On" > The Jesus and Mary Chain's "Head On" The Pixies covering a song that was only two years old AND by equally big college rock staples JAMC was something of a big deal in '91. That they perfected what was already a good song made it worth it. Oh, and TV on the Radio's "Mr. Grieves" > Pixies' "Mr. Grieves"
  4. I like that bit at the end of "Taxman."
  5. The screen hitting was the best part.
  6. Paying for mp3s is so crushingly stupid, anyway.
  7. I couldn't get the board's file attachment to work, so here's ysi: Rolling Stones - Sympathy for the Devil Rolling Stones - No Expectations The Dirtbombs - No Expectations c + p each link into your address bar and change the xx's in hxxp to tt's. Also, each track is in m4a format, so you anti-iTunes people are out of luck.
  8. I don't think their TH cover is that bad; I just hate those steel drums.
  9. It doesn't matter, though. subby quit the internet, which was for the best. I loved the guy, but he was stretching himself thin by the end.
  10. Banders was great. BPP was a good idea in theory, but, considering the person responsible for it, it was unnecessary.
  11. WRONG WRONG WRONG Seriously. The Corrs? Bono? Ryan Adams is very hit-and-miss, but that's one of his best songs.
  12. You're an idiot.
  13. Later, I should post some songs here. It'll be fun for all.
  14. Yes, but here we should talk about good songs. No sense mucking up that other thread with unbridled positivity.
  15. Also, TTIG was never funny or clever or amusing or any of those words you'd find in the thesaurus for "funny."
  16. subliminal animal
  17. Who started that "TTIG" gimmick.
  18. Get new ears. And your number five is Metal Circus. Some fan!
  19. Inspired by the Dirtbombs' cover of the Stones' "No Expectations," which I was listening to earlier. They take the lyrics, replace the slide guitar from the original with a fuzzed out bass while the rest of the band runs through a hyper take on "Sympathy for the Devil." It even throws in a little "Hey Jude" at the end. In spite of its gimmickiness, it really, really works. Far better than the Flaming Lips attempt to combine the White Stripes and the Butthole Surfers.
  20. Milky shined in this thread.
  21. Not really "postmodern."
  22. I was just remarking to Spoon that banky's typing skills have taken a dramatic decline in the last three years. He was making whole posts with no typos.
  23. Okay, I said "gheyest" right there at the very top of the second page. That's bad, but it was 2002, so I should be forgiven.
  24. I didn't go beyond the first page of that link, but you said "fo' sheez" and Gene said "Word." I shudder to think what sort of embarrassments I posted.
