That they perfected what was already a good song made it worth it. Oh, and TV on the Radio's "Mr. Grieves" > Pixies' "Mr. Grieves"

I like that bit at the end of "Taxman."

Inspired by the Dirtbombs' cover of the Stones' "No Expectations," which I was listening to earlier. They take the lyrics, replace the slide guitar from the original with a fuzzed out bass while the rest of the band runs through a hyper take on "Sympathy for the Devil." It even throws in a little "Hey Jude" at the end. In spite of its gimmickiness, it really, really works. Far better than the Flaming Lips attempt to combine the White Stripes and the Butthole Surfers.

I was just remarking to Spoon that banky's typing skills have taken a dramatic decline in the last three years. He was making whole posts with no typos.

Okay, I said "gheyest" right there at the very top of the second page. That's bad, but it was 2002, so I should be forgiven.

I didn't go beyond the first page of that link, but you said "fo' sheez" and Gene said "Word." I shudder to think what sort of embarrassments I posted.
