  1. I'm listening to Teenage Fanclub now, but everyone is still free to discuss LCD Soundsystem.
  2. I've said it before and I'll say it now: the bonus disc with the early singles blows the proper album out of the water. "Losing My Edge," "Beat Connection" and both versions of "Yeah" are all stellar.
  3. Listening to this for the first time in awhile. I wish the album as a whole were as good as its highs—"Daft Punk is Playing at My House" and "Tribulations"—but it's still decent. As for the copycat tracks, I'm sure James Murphy had fun imitating the Fall and the Beatles and Brian Eno, but what was once amusing has now worn very thin.
  4. OH SNAP. Gene and I are still tops.
  5. Most videos are mediocre/awful. This thread is failing to convince me otherwise.
  6. David Bowie - "Ashes to Ashes" http://www.youtube.com/w/David-Bowie---Ash...h=david%20bowie Some of the effects shots are dated—particularly the one of Bowie standing waist deep in the ocean—but overall, the visuals and compositions are outstanding.
  7. Here are my five favorite books: Infinite Jest, by David Foster Wallace Gravity's Rainbow, by Thomas Pynchon White Teeth, by Zadie Smith The Sot-Weed Factor, by John Barth The Sound and the Fury, by William Faulkner
  8. Asparagus is pretty sweet, I dunno. I decided not too long ago that I would have nothing to do with anyone who doesn't like spinach.
  9. Anyway, both Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart and Key Lime Pie are well worth your time.
  10. Surely you've heard "Take the Skinheads Bowling." If you saw Bowling for Columbine, you have.
  11. Oh, that was awhile ago. I've neither seen nor talked to her since. This thread is about hating women in general. I should've made this a thread at the Super Secret Club for Stupid Jerks, but I happened to have this window opened here.
  12. I got this white girl's number this past weekend, but she's not the subject of this thread.
  13. Which black woman.
  14. The biggest offender in the CVB discography is "She Divines Water," from OBRS. It's a huge, polished, radio friendly ballad that manages to still be a great song. It wasn't a hit, of course; the "Revolution 9"-style sound collage towards the end of the song didn't help, I'm sure. Still, those drums were loud and proud.
  15. Someone should post in this thread who I do not have ignored. OH BURN.
  16. Women are the worst. I hate them because I am also completely, totally and undeniably infatuated with them.
  17. I see wildpegasus viewing this thread, but I do not expect him to add any insight to the question at hand. Like he would know.
  18. Why don't they shut up?
  19. Who cares.
  20. Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart is almost as great as Key Lime Pie, except there aren't as many highs and the production is a little too 80s at times. Mostly in the drums, which are heavy on echo and mixed very loudly. You should check out OBRS, Czech, especially if you got any enjoyment out KLP. Camper Van Beethoven have other good albums, but none as awesome as those two.
  21. I googled that and now I am laughing at you, Barenaked Ladies fan.
  22. This guy just went on my ignore list.
  23. I probably should've put Siren on the list instead of Avalon. Fuck. I stand by Key Lime Pie, though.
  24. 8. Roxy Music - Avalon 9. Camper Van Beethoven - Key Lime Pie Avalon was a decision I came to just now; Key Lime Pie has long been floating around my top 15. Now I have solidified it for the top ten. Or nine. I still need to settle on one more album.
  25. I meant that it was irrelevant to me.
