Ashlee Simpson at least, at some point in time and with the help of studio sweetening, does sing her material. Hardly any pop star sings live, especially for a tv performance. Anyone that believes otherwise is deluding themselves.

I doubt this is gonna make a huge difference in her career, which would've fizzled out after this album, anyway. The public at large could give a shit about "honesty" or "integrity" these days, at least as far as pop musicians go.
