At this point, my only real complaint is that yes, it's a little too polished, but no matter when the material is this good. The pair of "Siberian Divide" and "Pendulous Skin" is the most perfect album closer I've heard in the last couple of years.
Spoon, we've seen no recent pictures of you. I only mention this because you've said that you look much different than you did circa all those old pictures of you. Man up, bro.
Did you ever get around to acquiring a fretless? I remember you talking about it.
EDIT: Unrelated, but I think I'm coming around to your way of thinking re: Blood Mountain. How beautifully structured is that album? Goddamn.
Tony Levin can actually work 12 strings, though.
I just don't see what's so ridiculous—well, I do, but work with me here—about a nine string bass, considering there are more extreme (for lack of a better word) alternatives. I can imagine the the bass you posted would be a little more cumbersome than the comparatively sleek stick.
Okay, there's some sufficient rocking going on here, but I've never liked that operatic vocal style—I mean, really, it shouldn't take nigh on 20 seconds just to sing "damned"—but I suppose I can get past that.
Great, I'm just gonna have to rely on allmusic, then. And according to them, I should check out The Number of the Beast, so I will. And if that album doesn't rock me to my very rocking core, then there's no hope.
He once called me while I was doing my show back in my radio days (he found the station's number; he didn't have my cell phone). He had a very pronounced southern drawl.
