  1. A few things. People have said ND has never fired anyone in the middle of contract. Well Bob Davie made the Fiesta Bowl in his third year. If Willingham would of made a BCS Bowl is 3rd year he wouldn't of been fired. Also, Davie was fired after the 2001 season. In the middle of his contract. Second. Willingham talked to Washington a few weeks ago. In order for this to happen, Notre Dame has to allow it. So it's not like Willingham at least wasn't interested in listening to other schools.
  2. A good coach should be showing improvement reguardless of whether he doesn't have his players in place.A team doesn't have to be like Oklahoma, or USC and win a National Championship 3 years, but a school should expect improvements.
  3. Why not? If a coach isn't working out, he's not working out. After 3 seasons, a school should expect improvements and it's not happening at ND. A school can't keep a coach because he didn't have his players. Willingham had plenty of his players, and things weren't getting better. Spicy's list was relevent. It shows how bad the program as fallen. This started under Davie, and continued under Willingham.
  4. What the hell happened to Mike? Despite what he said, it seemed like he took things to personal.
  5. I for one wouldn't mind seeing gov't shut down for a few days.
  6. So is that fake Al Bundy guy from the show with Nikki Cox the President this season?
  7. Benson's had to carry a much greater load than Adrian Peterson.
  8. People are making way to much out of this. It wasn't working and getting his players whatever that means wouldn't of made a difference. Spicy's list is a good indicatator, they horrible games and the fact Meyer was available sealed the deal. Willingham's better off. He can sit out a year, or take a coaching job this year. Maybe, Washington a school with a strong football tradition.
  9. Wilbon said he talked people and expected Willingham would be fired, so he was more prepared.
  10. No. It happened with Clinton, Reagan, Nixon. People give up alot both person and finacially when they take positions in the cabinet.
  11. Fucking computer can a mod lock 2 of these threads.
  12. Forgive me sports father for I have sports sinned. I like Stephen A. Smith and Bill Walton. I like productive outs and bunting. I like the BCS, and don't like the idea of a playoff.
  13. Suns and Sonics can make claim for number 1. However the Spurs are the class of the league. This team shows up every night. They can shut you down. One of the few teams to dominate on the road. They also are capable of scoring. Not like the Suns, but more so than previous years.
  14. If it wasn't for NBC i'd say Notre Dame would be wise joining a conference. The mystique doesn't exist, and maybe Meyer or whoever brings it back, but it might bring back some life it they join the Big East (much more in need of ND), or Big 10 which makes or sense geographically. Plus ND has a tradition with a lot of the schools in the conference.
  15. Benson, Leinart, Smith, and White.
  16. What happened to your country? Why did things change so much? Canada used to much more similiar to the U.S. Know it's more like Western Europe. The military which performed bravely in the past, is virtually non-existent. The gov't from an outsiders view looks liberal leaning socialist. No shock, but I for one would love to see Canada become closer allies with the U.S. and UK. We have so much more in common than you do with Germany or France. Oh and please build up your military.
  17. Some sleazy lawyer probably did. I thought a group of lawyers did in the U.S.
  18. Bush is a big gov't conservative. I know it's an oxymoron. It's just how he is. An attempt to cut spending is going to happen. Just don't get your hopes up it will be drastically.
  19. He was the only person in British history to rule the country. In the days when the monarchy wasn't just a figurehead. Another name to toss out. Sir Thomas More. The Cardinal during the reign of Henry the VIII. Executed for Treason in 1535, beatified in 1935. Charles "the Hammer" Martel. Victorious in one of the most important battles in world history. Led the Christians from invading Muslems in Spain in 732. Saving Europe from Islamic rule.
  20. So it comes down to Hawaii/Michigan St. The Island Gangsters better let the Warriors win this game.
  21. Oliver Cromwell at least deserves mention.
  22. More likely than not it's Vince who's buying the panties.
  23. Since they're the local team. Vikings need another DT. Help at LB, help in the secondary a good safety comes to mind. A good young kicker and punter.
  24. Butch's evil twin. He killed Butch and assumed is indentity.
  25. Buying used or supposedly used lingerie is wrong on so many levels. It's a good cause, assuming the money goes to charity, but still. Vince could of written a check.
