  1. No. Right smack dab behind home plate for everyone too see. A huge statue of Robinson towering over a cowering Babe Ruth with the words "Brooklyn ownz yo ass bitches" would be a nice touch has well.
  2. Fine. Put it away from the other numbers, but don't have it overshadow them.
  3. How about this. Rivera's #42 goes with the rest of the Yankee numbers. Robinson's #42. is placed in say CF. In the color Red, away from the other numbers.
  4. Then all the more reasons to consider the source. Why should I forget he's against gay marriage? Why should I not at least be suspicious that his position may paint a picture that's spun or not enitrely accurate? You're the people who run around talking about this huge slant in the media and the need to look for bias in the pages of large, respected journalistic organizations. You should know how this works. Go ahead and consider the source. That doesn't mean it's not an interesting article. Which by the way goes beyond gay marriage is bad. His opinion goes beyond gay marriage is bad. He's showing with numbers mind you, what's happened to the traditional marriage in those countries. If any thing he tends to be more critical of single women having babies, than gay marriage itself. Go ahead and wonder if Kurtz isn't telling the whole story. I doubt a majority in these countries would have any problem or care, the traditional family is on the decline. We talk about the slant in the so called unbiased network news, some cable news networks, and major newspapers. A columnist writing his or her opinion on something is fine. Don't always agree with what people write, in fact I might be doing the same thing you're doing if you posted something from Molly Ivins.
  5. No use in Maddux making the jump to the AL this late in his career. Ok did someone make up the Maddux to the Yankees story? First Brian Cashman said they hadn't had talks with Maddux, and than Steinbrenner said the same thing today.
  6. This story is not an article, like the one's you'll see on front page of the New York Times, and Washington Post. This is a column where the Kurtz is giving his viewpoint on the subject. Forget that he's agaisnt gay marriage, he does give numbers that show traditional marriage has been on the decline since gay marriage was allowed.
  7. So the writer presenting his viewpoint at the beginning of the column make his point invalid?
  8. John Kerry never came out and denied the story. He said it was a non-story. That's quite a bit different, than flat out denying the story.
  9. Ok. Count me in for these leagues has well.
  10. How many times has Kim pitched in Yankee Stadium during the regular season?
  11. What about the source. The article gives the viewpoint of both sides of the argument, and shouldn't be dismissed because it came from the evil Weekly Standard.
  12. Ok. Is the league Tom mentioned the same has the one he mentioned last week, and Al is your league the same has the one over at the SNKT?
  13. Well the Boss did say they hadn't talked with Maddux.
  14. Ha. Webber's gonna miss Thursday's game at Minnesota. All kidding aside, that should be a great game. IMO...the two best teams in the NBA right know. The last 4 meetings have gone into OT. I expect an up tempo, high scoring thriller.
  15. No love for Adrian Dantley?
  16. Drudge's story was the Washington Press was looking into the alleged affair Kerry had. The rumor of an affair was likely started by Clark's campaign manager.
  17. Weren't a team full of superstars? Derek Jeter, Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Alfonso Soriano, Roger Clemens, Mariano Rivera, Wade Boggs, Darryl Strawberry (yeah he's GREAT for team chemistry), Tim Raines, Jimmy Key, Dwight Gooden, John Wetteland, Tino Martinez, David Cone, David Wells, David Justice, Andy Pettitte and Mike Mussina aren't superstars? The Yankees won because they had a great team with little or no weaknesses. Not because of some mythical force that suddenly makes you win ballgames when everyone gets along. Wade Boggs, Doc Gooden, Darryle Strawberry, Tim Raines, and Jimmy Key where no longer superstar players when they played for the Yankees. They where veteran players, who contributed to the Yankees success. On the opposite side Soriano only came into his own in 2001, and Posada shared alot of the catching duties with Joe Giradi up until 1999 or 2000.
  18. East coast bias. The Twins where competive against everyone but the Yankees the last 2 years.
  19. The doctors most of missed the Yankees NOT WINNING the World Series the last 3 seasons.
  20. They didn't mix in 77 or 78. Clubhouse chemestry has always been a load of crap. Tell that to Yankee teams from 1996-2001. They weren't a team full of superstars yet they won 4 titles in 6 years. Team chemistry had nothing to do with that?
  21. A-Rod's playing 3rd and he's gonna like it.
  22. too many people make it less fan friendly.
  23. Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit WWE Champs at the same time. Never believed it could happen, but after WM we could see it.
  24. They filled it last year. It wasn't all that great.
  25. What's kind of interesting is how the character of Frasier changed from Cheers to his show. On Cheers he's hanging out at Bar with guys like Cliff, and Norm. On Frasier he's a full of himself pompous jerk, who wouldn't be caught dead in a place like Cheers.
