Current rumor is that the Heat picks up Rose to back up Gary Payton at PG. I think the rest of the Eastern Conference would like to give Isaiah a collective stomp in the nuts now for letting the Heat pick up yet another veteran at a cut-rate price.

My feelings on Cornette tend to be well-known around here, but I'd say that they should have made the order when he ordered it and that I'd have been almost as upset if I'd made the order, waited 20 minutes in line, and then be told that they hadn't even started on it yet. Cornette was certainly excessive in what he said, but he's never been known for having a filter between his brain and his mouth. If he feels it, he pretty much says it and screw the consequences. I'm actually shocked that it was fairly mild considering the reputation this clip has had over the years. I figured, from its infamous nature, that the string of curses and epiteths alone would have been 2 minutes and been racist in nature. BTW, Dragon, the order WAS late at night from what I've heard. The story behind it is that they got there close to closing time and that's why they didn't take it seriously. As a sidenote, there were actually other SMW witnesses to this besides the ones in the van. I'm pretty sure that Sunny, Chris Candido, and others (probably including Balls Mahoney) were in the DQ at the time of the incident and at least saw Cornette stick his face in the window to cuss out the employee.

Zeke seems to be missing the point of a lot of the bitching... People hadn't paid much attention to Balkman because he was expected to drop into the 2nd round at the least, if not go undrafted. It's a pretty safe bet he'd have still been on the board 9 picks later, when the Knicks picked up Mardy Collins instead. If they'd picked up Marcus Williams at 20 and then Balkman at 29, there would have been a lot less criticism because Williams was considered a steal for the Nets at 22.

Wow. The one "money" player for the Cardinals, Rackers, blows the game winner. Chicago got SO lucky here.

Looks like Tennessee may knock off Washington to pick up their first win of the year, up 25-22 late in the 4th. Looks like only Oak-town is in the Race For 0-16 after today.

The Saints are putting up a good show so far, up 10-0 by stopping the Eagles' offense and executing well on the offensive side of the ball. If not for a Drew Brees INT near the end zone, this would could easily be 17-0.

This was a good weekend for Southern Miss to have Homecoming against Houston... It meant that I could skip out on LSU-Kentucky in order to go. (LSU season tickets are expensive enough that I'd be pissed if I skipped a possible big game like LSU-Fresno State or LSU-Bama after paying so much.)
