  1. If Slapnuts is gonna make more bitter speeches about how he was demodded but YOU CAN'T STOP US, I'M STILL STANDING MOTHERFUCKERS, and so on, maybe Fridge should try again.
  2. We've had this discussion before, where there are no rivalries like there used to be, because of relocation and realignment. It especially did a number on the midwestern region (Norris) teams, moving the Maple Leafs away from their rivals, erasing the North Stars rivalries, not to mention the Blackhawks getting so awful that there was no rivalry left with the Red Wings any longer. Yeah, I went over all this stuff before. Then MrRant tried to come up with new rivalries like Atlanta-Calgary, then I suggested that Dany Heatley had a rivalry with pavement, then CanadianGuitarist went all Jim Ross "DAMN YOU TO HELL I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU" on me.
  3. Stay tuned to Robin Hood for the Big Finish! Will Stat Boy point out an error in THE BIGGEST PTI OF OUR GREAT SPORT?
  4. Fielder isn't quite ready just yet. The Sox would have to have some enticing offers on the table for the Brewers to dump Overbay two months early. These guys aren't out of it, remember. What did I do that was so obnoxious? I would prefer for Oakland to beat the White Sox because I don't much like the White Sox, and it would be a magnificent stab to Joe Morgan & Friends who keep reminding us that Moneyball (written by Billy Beane, natch) doesn't work and you have to manufacture runs and all that rubbish. I'm thinking big picture.
  5. I think I have some sort of "Slimtype Combo"? I'm not entirely sure. I don't know shit about computers, you see.
  6. What if Minnesota decides to rally along with the A's, and you get the A's taking the West, and the Twins taking the wild card. That'd be the best route for the A's, because they come out as division champions, and draw the White Sox, whom they've done well against. (As a Moneyball guy and White Sox hater, this outcome is what I hope for.)
  7. My CD drive won't read CDs. It reads DVDs, but it won't read CDs. It makes little whirring sounds like it's trying to, but gives up. Again DVDs work, CDs don't. What's wrong.
  8. The lyricist of the song must not!
  9. I maintain that they never ever ever should've left Twin Cities/Quebec City/Winnipeg/Hartford. Maybe then we wouldn't have all this trouble.
  10. I think he means Columbus is one of the Hated Expansion Teams That Should Not Exist. Meh, it's not as offensive as Raleigh, Atlanta, or Miami, but it's certainly not a necessary stop on the road trips.
  11. Yeah, but the neutral zone trap doesn't even allow for exciting chances. Nothing happens.
  12. I always think of Owen and Luke Wilson being analogous to Craig and Jack Wilson of the Pittsburgh Pirates, because one is blond and the other has dark brown hair. Also, I like Luke, but not Owen.
  13. I'll tell you what isn't gonna get fans back: that weird-ass silver shield with the letters going the wrong way.
  14. Fat chance.
  15. Hey, I love a good duel in baseball too, provided it is the result of two excellent pitchers shutting down their opponents' lineups, not just shitty hitting. Likewise, a low-scoring game is only exciting to me when it there are scoring opportunities that are denied by excellent goaltenders. All too often, low-scoring games in hockey are not full of heart-stopping saves, it's just 57 minutes of fucking around on the ice and then something happens because the laws of probability demand that something HAS to sooner or later. NO. They want to get the old fans back that left when they couldn't enjoy the game any longer. The neutral zone trap is a cheap way to win the game. As for shootouts in the postseason, I don't think anybody ever wanted that. Sudden death cannot be replaced. Ties can go, however.
  16. Now we're talking! I mean, the offensive line and the defensive line just cancel each other out anyways!
  17. Oakland needs to wear their grey uniforms more, it looks better than the green jersey.
  18. NEIFI PEREZ....live live live live?
  19. CHICAGO BULLPEN DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE
  20. Ostensibly Crunk
  21. I, too, missed the board drama last night. Why, Fridge, why. I thought we were friends.
  22. New way of doing something old. Doesn't count. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, but the songs themselves I can't really think of as having any defining characteristic from a stylistic standpoint other than that they're executed by a computer because they cannot be played by men.
  23. Sorry, Bob, you lose this one, FUCKING EVERYBODY to 1.
  24. As well he should. He's getting to the playoffs almost for sure with the Padres. He's gonna have to really work to get Baltimore in. And besides, with Palmeiro at 1st or DH, Sosa at DH as well, and Mora at 3rd, where does Nevin fit in? Orioles need pitching over hitting.
