But if he was to play first base full time, he would've done marginally more fielding as a first baseman than a designated hitter, since it's just not a demanding position to field, compared to catcher, center field, or shortshop. I'm not saying that this means no first baseman should go to the Hall, that's ludicrous. I'm saying that with DHs that would in all likelihood be first basemen in the National League, you can't really get on them for a lack of fielding, since it's such a secondary part of the job.

It looks like Rich Hill is going to get the nod as the #5 starter, which I'm still iffy about. I'd really prefer that Glendon Rusch was moved back to the rotation, since that's where he really seemed to excel. He's been all over the place since Dusty demoted him.
