  1. Maybe they can sign 3 year deals and Sabin can get a briefcase to nowhere like Homicide did.
  2. You certainly can't blame them. They were barely used over the last couple of years.
  3. Here's a note from the Observer about the game....and why Savage won't be in it: "As mentioned in a prior issue, not only is Randy Savage on the cover of the “Saturday Night’s Main Event” DVD, but they are going to do a Savage DVD for a 6/9 release, so Vince after all these years, said to be due to the economy and the mentality you can’t leave a DVD that you believe will do business off the table this year, has had a change of heart. This change was not early enough to get him in the Legends of Wrestlemania videogame, which McMahon personally ordered Savage and Mick Foley to be removed from. Names in the game are Andre the Giant, Road Warrior Animal, Arn Anderson, Bam Bam Bigelow, Big Bossman, John Studd, Bret Hart, Davey Boy Smith, Brutus Beefcake, Dusty Rhodes, Greg Valentine, Road Warrior Hawk, Honky Tonk Man, Hulk Hogan, HHH, Iron Sheik, Jake Roberts, Jim Duggan, Jim Neidhart, Jimmy Snuka, JYD, Kamala, King Kong Bundy, Koko B. Ware, Michael Hayes (did he ever wrestle at Wrestlemania?), Mr. Perfect, Nikolai Volkoff, Ric Flair, Rick Rude, The Rock, Roddy Piper, Sgt. Slaughter, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Ted DiBiase, Ultimate Warrior, Undertaker, Yokozuna and managers Bobby Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Paul Bearer and Mr. Fuji"
  4. No one knows what TNA does financially. Dixie said they turned a bigger profit last year than the year before...but no one really knows what's going on. Although...with all of their international deals and liscencing deals 2008 should have been a better year than 2007... You have to remember...what this company lacks in basic wrestling knowledge...they're somehow really good at the business part.
  5. Yeah that's right. I'm telling you the weather shouldn't have been able to affect anything here. I've lived in this town for 29 years and this wasn't even a bad day. I listen to the national coverage and they talk about the sleet and snow and I look outside and it looks like spring. That's an overstatement obviously...but it's not even bad out there.
  6. I wonder how many people even get that reference. Damned shift key.
  7. The highlight of this show was the Ultimate X rough cut where AJ said that Ultimate X was "hard to explain" followed immediately by Shelley saying "the ultimate x is a giant x above the 6 sided ring, you climb up and grab what's in the middle". Genius.
  8. It involves Beer, Chicken Wings and lack of employment.
  9. Oh...and if it has anything to do with weather then I don't know how a plane has EVER landed in this town. It's not even remotely bad out there compared to what it can get like.
  10. I'm from Buffalo! ... That's all the news I have to report. I was at work about 10 minutes from the crash site I guess. They pretty much shut down Clarence...so I didn't bother driving over for a look.
  11. Poor Homicide. Even when he wins...no one sees it. Does anyone think TNA remembers he has a briefcase at this point?
  12. I just finished disc 1. I love this set. I've gotten more enjoyment out of that first disc than I do out of most WWE releases...which are all generally very good so that's saying something.
  13. We should rename that the Marvin Invitational.
  14. I'm not anti-Venkman...but your previous title edit was a little too much "Randall Orton" "Alexander Rodriguez" Leena-esque. You're better than that...and plus it looked like I wrote it. And that we can't have.
  15. "The Jets were 1-4 in those games and needed a miracle defensive play to beat the Buffalo Bills" Nothing miraculous about waiting for JP Losman to do something stupid.
  16. If Favre didn't tarnish himself with the several years of "will she or won't she" that he played with the media...double retirement won't do it either. Neither will it when he comes back this time. It should...but people are stupid.
  17. That match happened right when I started watching wrestling. I don't remember if I had seen it when it aired...but if I did it goes a long way to explain why I've always hated Hogan.
  18. I know they're using that legends of Mania term loosely at best... But Michael Hayes??? He was in, what, the gimmick battle royal at Mania 18? And that's it? Without the other Freebirds it makes even less sense. I mean...I know why he's there...but come on.
  19. I know I keep saying this...but just think of how many people in TNA get taken down by their character or the booking. How long until...Booker was just another guy? One match? Look what happened to Abyss! Then you look at Beer Money and them not just staying over...but getting more and more over is damned impressive. James Storm has been defying the odds in this company for 7 years and needs a lifetime achievement TNA title run at some point.
  20. He seems to just do pop up video now. I don't think we'll see him in front of the crowd until he returns to face (apparently) Steiner on the next ppv. Which probably isn't the worst idea they've had lately.
  21. I don't disagree with that. I'd just add that Manny lost all his leverage before today. An guy who turns down all that money when he knows no one else is calling gave away all the leverage he was gonna have. The Dodgers offered him a chance to save face. And he spit in theres.
  22. That's kind of true...but kind of not. TNA has like 1.5 million eyes on them now...and there's only a tiny tiny percentage of that who would have ever seen Young or Petey before TNA hit Spike. Everyone is equally stale to most people. ... Except Beer Money. Beer Money still rules.
  23. Well...Manny WAS offered a ton of money on his one year offer. He just turned it down because... actually I have no idea.
  24. Terry Funk was completely screwed by a slow count in his title match with Hogan. Jesse pointed it out...but Vince...Vince just lied about it.
