That sounds about right.
-
Well...that makes sense to me. Sting will win the title at BFG and has Christian to deal with first.
-
I say it every week...but LAX is just the best thing in wrestling right now. I can't remember the last time a tag team made me care this much.
-
I'm pretty sure it has more to do with the fact the same few hundred people are there every week. TNA must travel. In some ways the fact that the next ppv is on the road is fitting...since the Orlando crowd was dead at No Surrender. At least until the Angle announcement.
-
I'll give a shout out to the Seinfeld sets. There are more features on those things than you could ever need.
-
Not much in the way of wrestling this week...but they are getting a lot of characters over this show. ... Oh yeah...Russo's back. ... Marine trailer on TNA commercial break. Cool.
-
Hell yes Eric! That was awesome. ... I really like JJ tonight. It's funny how just not seeing the belt on his person makes him so much more likeable.
-
Buff is still in shape at least. ... I mean he's rubbish but he's still in shape.
-
I expect that LAX/AJDaniels match to steal the show once again... But I think Monster's Ball is going to be tremendous. Runt might actually die. If the house show that they had in that building is any indication...Outside of Angle...Rhino's gonna be the most over person in town that night.
-
Awesome Sting video. Sadly having Sting off TV is the best way to build to that match. After 8 months of Sting/JJ interraction...a 2 month break is exactly what they needed.
-
Alright...so here's where we are so far: Officially announced: JJ vs. Sting (title vs. career) Senshi vs. Sabin for the X title Joe vs. Abyss vs. Runt vs. Raven (Monsters Ball III) Christian vs. Rhino (Street Fight) AJ & Daniels vs. LAX for the tag titles (6 sides of steel) That leaves: 3D AMW Naturals James Gang Bentley & Kazarian Papparazzi (there are a lot of tag teams in this company) Monty Brown (if they're booking him) Bobby Roode Ron Killings and the faceless X division C team including the return/redebut of Austin Starr. ... It seems the MO for the show is gimmicks.
-
Yeah...I really liked the opening with Jarrett. Possibly because watching Hoyt get destroyed is great.
-
I love Runt. ... It's like Joe somehow wondered into the land of the misfit toys.
-
They should have split Joe and Abyss off into a singles match. But the idea of Runt and Joe squaring off intrigues me. Raven is just dead weight at this point. If he was removed the match becomes 76% more fun right off the bat.

Spoiler regarding Kurt Angle's involvement at BFG
The Ghost of bps21 replied to tpww7's topic in TNA Wrestling
You people are fucking retarded. Most threads are "PLEASE DON'T SIGN ANGLE...HE's GOING TO DIE!!!!" And now this thread is complete anger of keeping him out of action for at least another month and a half. ... Mark my words. And If I am wrong...someone can dig this up, quote me and throw it in my face for the rest of my posting life: TNA knows that JJ isn't Kurt Angle. All TNA has wanted from the time they formed...was someone like Kurt Angle. By the time Spring hits...Angle and Joe will be the top people in the company. The JJ show ends at BFG. He'll slip into a feud with Eric Young, while Joe wins the title and Angle moves into contention. Bank on it...or...throw it back at me. -

I think he more meant that they didn't make him there top HHHesque guy. PWinsider had been reporting for a while that he was trying to become a politics guy backstage...but he didn't really know how to play that game. I'm pretty sure he just wants to be the "Man" and not anything having to do with WWE style or anything. -

A MESSAGE FROM TNA PRESIDENT DIXIE CARTER TO THE FANS REGARDING THE SIGNING OF KURT ANGLE “First, let me say to our talent and our staff, congratulations on our move to primetime. Each of you have worked so hard for this and deserve all the great things that will come with the move. To our fans, none of us would be here without you. Your belief in our product has made all of this possible, and from all of us, thank you. This is just the beginning. I hope the hype of our announcements last night lived up to or exceeded your expectations. In this industry, it is very hard to keep anything quiet. We are thrilled to have Kurt Angle join our team. Just like with all of our wrestlers, Kurt’s family and health will always come first. I’m sure you will be hearing from him in the coming weeks. I asked Kurt’s agent to provide me with a quote for our announcement release. Most times a publicist, manager or agent will prepare a statement for the talent. But after a long film shoot in Nashville last week that ended at midnight, Kurt sat down and hand wrote his heartfelt comments on a hotel note pad. Instead of just pulling a small part from that to use in the press release, I thought his fans would love to share in his full emotions from that night: “Being with TNA feels like I have finally found my home. I had fun in WWE at certain times, but I was never really happy. Now being a part of TNA, I know I have a purpose. I feel like I am part of history, part of a company that is not only on the rise – not only going to be the number-one watched wrestling show in the world within a short period of time – but TNA gives me an opportunity to spread my wings. This company has no limits to where it can go. The sky is the limit and the main reason is because they brought the “real” back into wrestling and that is a perfect fit for the greatest wrestler in USA Olympic history. I have room to grow here and to help TNA grow. Working for these caring and very giving employers of TNA makes me feel like I have a purpose and that the sky is the limit. I don’t feel trapped or held back like I did the first six years in my tenure with the other company. They held me back. Now, our wonderful audience will see the real Kurt Angle doing what I love to do – real wrestling – and that’s what puts a smile on my face each time I come to work. I even smile when I think about it. TNA will be the most watched television show on cable television. It’s only a matter of time. Now, I get the opportunity and privilege of being a part of it. Thank you TNA for saving my career, my life and my desire to do what I love. I will be here in some capacity for the rest of my life. That’s real…that’s damn real.” – Kurt Angle ... Well that last quote is extra spooky, no? -

It was a different match than I expected them to have. I thought it would be a bloody bloody mess... but instead they took it as 4 guys just thinking of anything they could to KO each other. It's the best match TNA has had since Joe moved to heavyweight. -

I don't think I'm being cold about it...I just think that realistically we have to start from the point that Angle was always going to wrestle again. Debating the pros and cons of that decision just seems like a waste of time to me as the decision has already been made. ... That said...TNA has had their BFG plans for a while now...and Angle doesn't really factor in to that. When a new talent like Angle comes in you get a few milestone moments that people will watch for. The first is his first appearance...which they could do at the first 2 hour Impact in primetime. His first match is something that could be held off and it doesn't make the character go cold. For all intents and purposes...people will be more likely interested in what Angle is going to do in the company...rather than any individual match. I'd have him debut with a promo at that Impact, and have him beat someone easily at the next ppv. Not someone of that much value...maybe someone like Alex Shelley. A good wrestler, but not a star. Then I'd keep Angle involved in high profile feuds like Abyss and Christian... At least until they get Joe built up to the point where Angle/Joe will be seen as the huge match that it is. With minimal effort...actually with no effort other than focusing TNA on him...Samoa Joe, by...say Summer... I think at that point Joe vs. Angle could be as big as any match WWE could do for WrestleMania. That's 100% what I think they should be working towards. And it doesn't hurt to protect Angle along the way...at least in the beginning. I wouldn't put him in a ring until the November ppv...and I wouldn't give him a competitive match until the new year. There are plenty of ways to keep him interesting while he destroys Sharkboy and Johnny Devine. ... He is the biggest name that they have, or ever have had. That's not going to change. -

On the plus side... I don't believe we'll see Angle work a match for a while still. He's not going to be wrestling until at least BFG...and I'd be shocked if he worked that show either. I would bet mid November will be when he even shows up in something other than video packages. If I had to bet his first match will be on either the 2 hour Impact in November OR more likely the ppv in November or December. -

The blame is on Angle. WWE did the right thing (eventually) by releasing him. He chose to go back to work. If it wasn't TNA...it could have been MMA or Japan. Starting from the obvious truth that there was nothing that was going to keep Angle from working... TNA is the best option for him. Big money for little work. He doesn't have to go on the road. -

He had to choose to walk away from the no compete. Everything isn't black and white. Yes, he has problems...but it sure seems like having wrestling taken away wasn't helping them. He just burned a bridge with the biggest wrestling company in the world to work for a company that has never made a penny. Any comment about his health is relevant...but so is his mental state. This radical decision MADE BY ANGLE MIND YOU...shows just how far gone he is mentally. Yes by all means, sitting at home was leading him to a path of right. Who's to say Angle wouldn't have explored MMA had he not gone to TNA? Don't expect me to feel bad for a guy who's making his own choices. Your reply was juvenile, out of place (sarcastically replying to things that I didn't post) How does my enjoyment have ANYTHING to do with his health? HE CHOSE. HE CHOSE. HE CHOSE. That has nothing to do with me. Or my watching. Or anyone else for that matter. -
Super Duper Major Announcement at No Surrender
The Ghost of bps21 replied to a topic in TNA Wrestling
Let's hope that Angle works out better than the previous batch of former WrestleMania main eventers that TNA has brought in: Hulk Hogan: Did a one off angle with Jarrett that they still show all the time. Never worked a match. Roddy Piper: Blamed Russo for Owen's death on live ppv, did a Piper's Pit...reffed a match...I really don't remember what his purpose was in TNA come to think of it. He was on the original Championship Commitee. Never worked a match. Randy Savage: Apperared for a total of like...4 minutes of TNA time. Pinned JJ in a 6 man after very minimal and embarrassing "work" ... Lex Luger and Kevin Nash were in co-Mania Main Event slots...and they were also awful. Luger worked a match and "put over" Styles. Nash actually only won one match (against Sabin) in his entire run. And he got Shelley over while he was around. ... Sadly the current crown goes to Nash. Actually just Angle's announcement trumps anything the other guys have done. -

I don't know. It seems like Angle is crazy...but not just in the "he's crazy for wrestling again" way...but in a "maybe working 3 shots a month aren't the worst thing for him...because if he doesn't have his wrestling release he may do something REALLY REALLY crazy." He walked away from his no compete clause and a bunch of free money to feed his wrestling addiction. It's easy to say that wrestling again is the worst thing for him...but is it really? A man as driven as he is...knowing that he wasn't even willing to sit out his 90 days...what good do you think comes from him NOT working? Dude might hurt himself worse. TNA will have to shoulder a bit of the blame/whatever for what happens to Angle in the future....but most of it is still on Angle. ... And none of it is on me. So if the man wants to put himself in a wheelchair...that's his choice. And if the man wants to work with Joe and Styles on the way to that end...then I'll watch. With a clear conscience.
