To answer Brian's question from a while back: Yes the same thing could happen to Smallville...but the difference is Superman is a trademarked property of Warner Bros....and the WB is a Warner Bros. Station. Unlike Buffy/Angel...WB is running a show from their own company. Plus...it does great ratings. They didn't cancel 7th Heaven when it was their #1 ratings grabber...and it was surprising to say the least that they did off Buffy since it was their most marketable show and really...the flagship. Don't look for Smallville to end until WB wants it to.

How can you blame the Yankees for this? 1. Texas signed him to this ridiculous contract...and the Players Association won't let the deal change that much. 2. Boston was trying to do the same thing. I didn't hear anyone bitching when Boston tried to get him. As long as there is no cap in baseball...the Yankees are just playing by the rules someone else set up. Besides...I like anything that pisses of Boston fans.

Don't get your hopes up too high. They've been running promos for the top three matches for ppvs for a while now...and when you look at the rest of the matches on the card (Nidia/Noble, TWGTT/APA, Bashams/Rikishi&scotty, andmaybe Holly/Rhyno) there was nothing else to choose from.

I know everyone is upset...so I'll post something that will either make you smile or weep depending on how you take it: Angel only has 9 episodes left EVER to wrap up what they want to and conclude what they want to.... ...and in the next episode Angel turns into a puppet.

We've been over this before. What we want is to see them push someone that fans react too before the huge push. First of all...who says Cena sucks? He's exactly who should be getting pushed right now. Orton sucks...and isn't over. Cena's super over. Push Cena. Stop pushing Orton. This isn't that hard.

That could happen. There's an interesting story of rebuilding the watcher's council with all the slayers out there... WB could even air the show. As I said over 4 months ago in this thread: "I wouldn't bet on WB picking it up again. After five years they have to increase the budget...something that they wouldn't do for Buffy, which along with 7th heaven, was their FLAGSHIP show. Angel isn't. " So they can run a new Whedon show for 5 years and then get all cheap for the third time in a row! Anyway...this won't be the last Buffyverse TV show.

I was being generous with distant third. Firefly and Buffy are my two favorite shows of all time (in that order). While Angel often feels like a chore to watch. It lacks the kind of interesting characters that I need. Only Wesley is all that interesting...and that's too few and far between.

At least there's a somewhat intriguing storyline to that fight. Not that the casual boxing fan could give two shits about Corrie Sanders.

Oh well. Angel has never been that interesting to me. I watch it because Buffy is gone and Firefly is gone...but IMHO Angel was a distant third in the Whedonverse. It lacks that special thing that the other two had. Now Joss can spend all of his time trying to get the Firefly movie made. I'll trade one Firefly movie for another year of Angel in a heartbeat.

But the trick is that time moves differently there. A thousand years in hell can be like a year in our world (or whatever) so he would have only aged a year...it would have just taken a thousand years to do so...

I agree with that. If I had any faith in their ability to improve the storylines and start putting the good workers in positions to just kick ass every week...I'd agree with tpww7...but I don't have that faith in them... so gimmick me up!

I'll take the opposite reaction to that and say they should do stuff like this much more often. If they're supposed to be an alternative to the WWE...things like this are things that you won't see in the WWE.

Well...look at SummerSlam with Brock/Rock. Brock didn't do any switching despite clearly being the crowd favorite...but Rock started heeling it up a bit. Don't just lay it on Goldberg's feet if it goes awry...Brock hasn't proven to be able to do it either.

I have never seen Farscape. But it would have to be the greatest thing ever devised by man to top Firefly on my list. Firefly took down Buffy...and that is something that I thought impossible. I'm sure Farscape is great...but Firefly has that thing that speaks to me. That thing that only Buffy had before it.

I have to figure they're out of squash matches by now. But I guess they don't take long to set up...so maybe they have a couple more. I'm still trying to figure out how to fit a third country into the next X Cup.

No. IWA is the slowest paced wrestling I've ever seen. It's like every match is meant to be in a big stadium with no TV coverage.
