  14. PROMO: “What a Terrible Thing to Say” ----------------------------------------------------------------- Not even an hour after the conclusion of Next in Line, SWF Commissioner Landon Maddix sits on a leather love seat, knelt over and with his hands covering his face. “Ugh…guys, seriously, I don’t feel so well.” Standing to his left is his lovely assistant, Megan Skye and across the room, sits SWF General Manager, Toxxic. “Bet you regret drinking that much now, eh?” asks the General Manager. “Uhhhh…” “Here, Landon. Have some tomato juice. It’ll help you feel better,” consoles Skye. Landon takes the glass wearily and sips from it, before putting his head back down. “And what are we going to do about that door?” “I guess we’re going to have to hire one less of those DVS guys and get it repaired.” “One less salary to worry about is one less guy to storm in here at inappropriate times and demand title matches...” “GOD DAMN IT YOU TWO!” Landon Maddix is cut off by the SWF Cruiserweight Champion, ‘Hollywood’ Spike Jenkins. Obviously, in a very bad mood after his crowning ceremony earlier that night was interrupted by a returning Divefire, Jenkins storms into the office. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT…” Jenkins pauses as he looks behind him to the doorway from where he entered from. Just now, he notices that there was in fact, no door. “Va’aiga was here?” Landon, Toxxic and Skye all nod in unison. “Ah…anyway! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT TONIGHT? Who let that crazed kung-fu, Bruce Lee wannabe into the arena?” “I did,” Toxxic says as he rises from his chair and steps around the desk towards Jenkins. “You resigned Divefire without me knowing about it?” asks Landon. “Well, one of us has to do some work around here.” “…Good point.” “Okay, fine! You resigned Divefire, congratulations. But who was responsible for him coming out there and disrupting MY ceremony?” Spike turns to Landon and Skye, who both look at each other and shrug. Toxxic slightly raises his hand in the air. “Again, that would be me.” Jenkins turns his head sharply and glares at the former Straight Edge Sensation. “Excuse me?” “Don’t get your panties in a bunch, sunshine. Divefire asked me about how he should return and I merely mentioned that you were having a segment on this show…” “…You told him to come out there and blindside me?” “Mentioned it.” “You son of a bitch!” Spike nearly jumps forward towards Toxxic, but the General Manager barely moves an inch. “What the bloody hell‘re you gonna do, sunshine? I’m your boss, remember? I can very, very easily take that title from you.” “All because you have a little booking power, you’re going to act like a big shot and make my life miserable? Well, let me tell you something, Mike. No matter who you hire, no matter what you book me in, it still doesn’t change the fact that I am and I always will be better than you!” “You ignorant little snot. You’re lucky I don’t take you out right here, right now…” “GUYS, GUYS!” shouts Landon as he climbs to his feet. Landon cries out in a pain and clutches his skull, a combination of standing up too quickly, shouting and the hang over. “Don’t worry, Landon. I’m not going to do anything stupid like that. But I will book a match. On July 15th, Spike, you will defend the cruiserweight title against Divefire!” “WHAT THE HELL? How can you give him a title match when he hasn’t had a match in the SWF in over five years? This is bullshit!” “Tough luck, sunshine.” “Landon, you can’t let this happen!” shouts the Cruiserweight Champion. “Well, Toxx. He has a point. We just rehired Divefire and he hasn’t had a match in an SWF ring in ages.” Toxxic turns towards Landon, looking at him with exasperation. “What are you saying, Landon?” “What I’m saying is…I’m going to have to overrule you, in this situation.” “HA HA!” laughs Jenkins. “That’s what I thought!” “Oh, don’t get me wrong, Spike. I think Michael is on to something here. So, this is what we’re going to do. At our next show, Our Super Sweet Sixteen, you will have a match and you will go one-on-one against Divefire…in a non-title bout.” “Are you kidding me…?” Spike moans. He turns back to look at his former rival and now the SWF General Manager in the eyes. “Fine! But I wouldn’t get too comfortable with having Divefire on the roster.” Jenkins turns and stomps out of the office. After a few moments, Toxxic turns towards Landon. “What the bloody hell was that about?” “Mike, he has a point. Divefire hasn’t had a match in years. We can’t just give him a title shot in his first match back.” “Jeez.” Toxxic shrugs his shoulders and turns back towards his desk. He sits in his chair and looks up at Landon. “But that’s not the only thing,” says the SWF Commissioner. “What else?” “Say Divefire does defeat Spike…THEN we can give him a title shot. People would be more willing to pay to see that, you know what I mean?” Toxxic leans back in his chair and thinks for a moment. “Landon, has anyone ever told you that you think better when you’ve had a few drinks in you?” “I’ve been told I do a lot of things better when I have a few drinks in me,” Landon says slyly as he turns towards Megan and nods his head at her. “Heh, right?” Megan sighs and turns her head away. “Yeah, that’s what’s up,” says Landon.
  15. Given his gimmick, I can't help but chuckle at the prospect of Punk getting arrested for drug possession. I think it'd be hard to take him seriously after that, considering from what I've heard, the straightedge thing is really his lifestyle, not just a gimmick. Punk once had a really good story in his old livejournal about getting pulled over by a cop and the cop wanted to search the car. "What do my knuckles say? DRUG FREE!"
  16. Arlovski looks pimp in that picture.
  17. Does it leave room open for a third film?
  18. RVD got a title run. Remember how that turned out? Of course, most of that was his fault.
  19. How about CB Dollaway? He just came off a loss to Amir and looked like a bitch for complaining about not tapping when it was clear he did. He was groomed all season on UF and now, two straight losses plus the fact that no one likes him because hes a dick, what will that do for him?
  20. I was at that PPV. After RVD and Jericho lost (I think it was those two) everyone just sat down and didn't say shit besides the fat white trash bitch in front of us goin bonkers for Jaime Knoble the whole time. My best memory of that show was the "She's a crack whore" chant at Nidia. I thought I was back at an ECW show for 30 seconds. I really miss the days of Jamie Noble and Nidia. That was entertaining TV.
  21. HHH bringing out the tape to break up the wedding and then at GAB, Vickie helping Edge win the title, then revealing one of the Edgeheads is on the tape, proving that it was all a scam on HHH? Genius.
  22. I'm interested in the Jay Briscoe stuff. A dude circling his house? Time to Man Up!
  23. How about out wrestling, Josh Koscheck, Matt Hughes, Karo Parisyan... Are they half of GSP's size? Maintain top position and ground + pound, like Jon Fitch did. Diego had problems sweeping Fitch... GSP is a stronger wrestler then Diego. His striking is not as explosive as GSP, nor does he have the one punch KO power like Matt Serra does to knock out GSP... GSP would pick apart Diego on the feet. Like I said, Diego's striking looked good against Luigi... But when has Luigi ever been known as a stand up fighter instead of a wrestler with very basic stand up? I never said GSP would have trouble taking Diego down. I know he'll be able to do it. But I don't believe he'll be able to GNP Diego. I haven't seen the Diego/Fitch fight, but everything else I've seen out of Diego, he's explosive on the ground and has good submission and scramble ability. On the feet, I think its a toss up. Neither fighter has the power to really knock the other one out, but both are very fluid and crisp. I'll give GSP the wrestling and a slight advantage standing, but I think Diego would be able to catch a submission from the bottom (or top). Another question I have is how is GSP's ability on his back? If Diego were to mount him, would St. Pierre be able to defend and/or regain control? I don't know about that one, either.
