Same here. I saw him three times while he was on support of I Get Wet. I need some more live AWK.

I'm confused now...are we rating who has the coolest team or who has the team that would work out the best before having a New Defenders level meltdown?

Captain America Cap is the quintessential hero, starting from being a near cripple undergoing a potentially fatal experiment that puts him at the peak of human perfection. He's also a master of most forms of hand-to-hand combat, even creating his own disciplines. He's more than just a jingoistic avatar of America; he symbolizes what the American dream is on a philosophical level. Many of a time he abandoned the government because he knew what they were doing was wrong, most recently during the whole Civil War debacle. But most of all, Cap is respected from villains to heroes and everyone in between. Everyone in the Marvel pantheon is down with him from Spidey to Wolverine. He's helped train most of the Marvel heroes. Even the freaking Punisher respected him; refusing to fight back when Captain America kicked the shit out of him.

I forget...are nonwrestlers (valets, managers, commentators) part of the draft as well? -

I'd be down for that. -
I know I've been lazy and haven't sent mine it yet. What are you looking for in regards to the write up?
-
I haven't read it, but I remember reading a few favorable reviews for it.
-
We could do it Marvel vs. Capcom style, where everyone is on a fairly even standing.

Sounds cool. Count me in.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

With my pick-- Kamala the Ugandan Giant Stevie Richards and Vampiro will be feuding for control off the Ugandan Monster in an angle that is designed to be as goofy as possible and over the top. Such mystical props will involve a mind control necklace. And his mask will give him special powers; mostly him speaking like an educated Englishman and singing R&B/soul music. -
Sounds interesting. Hopefully they won't blow it by having Holly go over them at some point.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

With my pick, I'm going to pick someone who's a draw over in Mexico and can work well both as a heel or a face. He's a decent worker, fits in with my other guys, but his style is different enough for him to stand out. He'll be predominately heeling it up against Muta, Delirious and the bWo.... I bring you Vampiro -
How many peeps per squad are you thinking?

I was just trying to suggest a little more highbrow than our usual fanboy stuff.

Yeah, but you're a grown ass man. My dad has good taste in music, or at least he used to, but he doesn't listen to music anymore, because of his religious beliefs. (not that they forbid him from music, just the kind of music he likes, ie. Sabbath et all) My dad is the same way. He used to listen to a lot of Sabbath, Zep, and other more rocking things. In the last 5 years or so he's started listening to really shitty country music and indie folk.

Who is your wrestling hero and have you ever met him?
Steviekick replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
I met Mick Foley at a book signing last year. And I did meet Hero too. Nice enough dude. -
Let's Talk About...The New Blood/Millionaires Club angle
Steviekick replied to King Kamala's topic in General Wrestling
That's exactly how I felt about it. I have that Nitro on tape somewhere and it was very exciting. Unfortunately, they never capitalized on it. The angle really got awful towards the end, when they were driving around in a school bus. However, it did give us that fun Funk/Candido match where they almost got killed by a horse. -
I should have mine for later tonight/early tomorrow morning.

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft

I think that even happened in this draft, when I was away and fucked up my picks that lead to the Kings and Briscoes. -
Issue Three synopsis... The SHIELD Helicarrier crashes into the Bermuda Triangle and Jarvis asks Maria Hill to immediately surrender. Captain Marvel destroys Thunderbolts mountain and the team. Norman Osbourn asks him to calm down so they can talk. Spider Woman/Skrull Queen takes out Echo and finds Iron Man. She reveals to him that he's a Skrull and hasn't even known it. The Initiative and New Avengers get their asses kicked by the Super Skrulls in NYC. Vision gets blown up and one of the Initiative members is dead. Nick Fury appears on the last page with a new gang of Howling Commandos.

I've heard Douchenforce is good live, and I've seen Mastodon, and they're not bad. Of course, when I saw them they were hindered by a Slayer crowd (if it's a REAL heavy metal concert, and Slayer is headlining, then practically none of the openers, despite their quality/popularity, will get a reaction...unless they're Unearth, surprisingly), but they were pretty fucking tight. Seeing Municipal Waste/Darkest Hour/At The Gates on July 11th, and I think Toxic Holocaust is opening for the three, which is fucking schweet because they play a good black/thrash blend. Most of the concerts this summer are just my band gigging, including, I think, one gig opening for a one-night-only Burn In Silence reunion (Massachusetts metalcore band who broke up shortly after getting signed to Metal Blade). Maybe I'll see some other shows, but I doubt it. Gas prices are gay, and I'm already doing a little over a tank a week thanks to regular errands and band practice three times a week (which is about 25-30 miles away). I've wound up seeing Dragonforce live twice, and they were fun to watch. I'm heading out to see Iron Maiden on Saturday night. Other than that, nothing is concrete except for going to see Keith Caputo from Life of Agony in August.
