Oh yeah... I thought I liked David Cross for a long time, but I realized he's only average. I needed to get a feel for his Mr. Show castmates on their own to see he really wasn't doing anything there except drawing attention to himself. He did put out one great comedy album... but then his next was a total rehash. Not to mention his politics are terrible which is forgivable except he talks about it way too much. We'll see if he improves, but as of now... yeah, average. Odenkirk, however, I've only liked more and more the more I see him.

That stems from people who repeat what they've heard without being able to understand whether it's true or not. A sense of humor is much rarer than you'd think. That's why people laugh a lot more in groups.

Your second argument only works if you accept your first argument. For one, you talk as if our ability to create technology is unnatural. If we have managed to place ourselves atop of the biological totem pole, why shouldn't we be arrogant? Either we were ordained to be there, or we fought and earned it through inherant superiority (which our ability to create technology demonstrates). Whichever way you look at it, we're number one.

I mentioned some time ago that I thought 311's blue album wasn't too bad, which was true although I hadn't listened to it in many years. I'm listening to it now and it's actually better than I thought it was. Utterly unoriginal, but quite well done and polished. Good music for when you want background noise. The actual disc is like Mars or something. Looks pretty cool, I forgot that.
