    The Darkness

I was about to add that to my post. On MTV News they said that by no means by they're a parody but after watching the video it's extremely hard to tell. If it's a parody they're doing a fucking good job at it.

What were some concert events you attended

October 31st 1999- Weird Al Yankovic. After the Jewel wannabe opening act silenced the crowd (I still don't know why she was on the bill). Weird Al Yankovic came on and blew the roof off the place with one of the best stage shows I've ever seen- the man had more costume changes than frikking Cher. And this whole concert was in a small 1500 seat porno theater turned concert hall. November 7th 2002- SR-71 and the Exies. Not for the actual concert mind you (Which was surprisingly decent) but the whole experience. A 50 something year old hanging out with the teenage girls at the front( And he wasn't security) and later punching out a teenage mosher mosher. SR-71 entering through the crowd and nobody noticing. And me elbowing the bass player for the Matchbox 20 ripoff that started the show. June 28th 2003- Paul Rodgers and Kansas. The show started off with a cover band that's only redeeming quality was a frontman that was a dead ringer for Sam Kinison. Kansas shocked the hell out of me and actually ended up half decent. Paul Rodgers had the crowd on their feet playing hit after hit (The man knows how to play a nostalgia concert) September 3rd 2003- ZZ Top and Ted Nugent. Two top notch live acts on one kick ass bill. Ted Nugent kept the red necks rolling with his extremely conservative mid song banter and kept the rest of us on our feet by rocking the fuck out (Boy I sound like Metal Ed). While ZZ Top played hit after hit, sounding exactly like the album (Which is a good thing in this case).

MTV2 Headbanger Ball Tour Dates Announced

Plus, MTV2 & Roadrunner Records To Release Double-Disc “MTV2 Headbangers Ball” Album October 7th New York, NY (September 23, 2003) – Set to take some of the most earth shattering, deafening, and truly heavy metal music to the streets, MTV2, the 24-hour music network, today announced the first-ever MTV2 Headbangers Ball Tour. Set to kick-off October 28th in Montreal, Canada, the trek will feature live performances by heavy metal heavyweights including Roadrunner Records Recording artist Killswitch Engage, Prosthetic Records Recording artist who have just signed to Epic -Lamb Of God and Century Media’s very own Shadows Fall, who will all rotate and co-headline this year’s tour. Featured opening act for the first leg of the tour will be Eulogy Recordings’ Unearth and for the second leg of the tour, Century Media’s God Forbid. All three headlining acts of the tour are also featured on the first-ever MTV2 Headbangers Ball CD set for release October 7th. Announced earlier this month by MTV2 and Roadrunner Records, the double-disc album will include 40 tracks from the best of metal’s established bands, and its most powerful up-and-comers. Just some of the artists featured on the album include Godsmack, Slayer, Hatebreed, Cold, Marilyn Manson, Mushroomhead, Ill Nino, Spineshank, Chimaira, Staind, Eighteen Visions and more. The album and tour follow the on-air return of the Headbangers Ball earlier this summer with its premiere on MTV2. Highlighting the best classic and new metal videos, interviews with hard rock artists, and showcasing a new breed of metal talent, the new Headbangers Ball series is inspiring the next generation of headbanging fans. Hosted by Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed, MTV2’s Headbangers Ball can be seen every Saturday night at 10 pm EST and 7 pm PCT. “With some of the most loyal and diehard followers in all of music, the return of ‘Headbangers Ball’ once again gives hard rock and metal fans a place that is all their own,” said Joe Armenia, VP of Music Marketing and Promotions for MTV & MTV2. “And with the show’s new home on MTV2, we wanted to take it one step further by bringing some of the best metal bands seen on the show every week such as Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall and Lamb Of God straight to the fans for an unforgettable live concert experience.” Bands and fans alike are crazed anxiously awaiting the launch of the MTV2 Headbangers Ball Tour. "This tour will easily be one of the best tours Killswitch has ever done. And having “Headbangers Ball” involved, a show we all grew up watching is icing on the cake. I know us and Shadows Fall are looking forward to playing a full set - not just 20 minutes - for all the kids we saw at Ozzfest. And it's always fun to watch Lamb of God play. So be prepared!!" -- Howard Jones, Killswitch Engage. The real deal…Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler says: "We're very excited about unleashing the monster that is Lamb of God onto the U.S. and with the help of our friends in Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, God Forbid and Unearth, this will prove to be the metal concert event of the year. Headbangers Ball is finally back and with it comes the first and only real metal tour of 2003. Take note, top to bottom, this is how it's done.” With music so extreme there is always an element of surprise and risk… “I am not sure if my liver or my neck muscles are prepared, but I am definitely willing to risk serious physical damage and potential rehab to be a part of this year’s MTV2 Headbangers Ball Tour. We couldn't be more excited about rejoining our great friends in Lamb Of God and Killswitch Engage. And now, maybe Randy of Lamb Of God and I can finally finish our drinking contest that began about three years ago. Be prepared, there's a steamroller heading your way.” -- Brian Fair, Shadows Fall. Dates for the MTV2 Headbangers Ball Tour include: 10/28/03 Montreal, CAN Spectrum 10/29/03 Toronto, CAN Opera House 10/30/03 Latham, NY Saratoga Winners 10/31/03 Worcester, MA Palladium 11/01/03 Philadelphia, PA Electric Factory 11/02/03 Pittsburgh, PA Club Laga 11/03/03 Columbus, OH Al Rosa Villa 11/04/03 Sauget, IL (St. Louis), Pop’s 11/05/03 Minneapolis, MN The Quest 11/06/03 Chicago, IL Vic Theatre 11/07/03 Detroit, MI Harpo’s 11/08/03 Cleveland, OH Agora 11/09/03 Milwaukee, WI Rave 11/11/03 Denver, CO Ogden Theatre 11/12/03 Salt Lake City, UT Bricks 11/14/03 Vancouver, WA Commodore 11/21/03 Pomona, CA Glass House 11/28/03 Lake Buena Vista, FL House Of Blues 11/29/03 Atlanta, GA Masquerade 11/30/03 Charlotte, NC Tremont 12/01/03 Norfolk, VA Norva 12/03/03 New York City, NY Irving Plaza *More Dates To Come Well MTV2 didn't screw this up and try to put some Nu-Metal crap on this tour. Goodbye Veteran and Qualcomm Stadiums

Today Veteran Stadium, famous for it's notorious fans (They booed Santa for pete's sake) and Qualcomm Stadium, famous....for ummm... nothing both closed. Qualcomm was built in 1969 for Triple A baseball and Veteran Stadium was part of the "new breed" of ball parks in the early 70s built in 1971 (Ironically all those parks are dead or are dying). Veteran Stadium 1971-2003 Qualcomm Stadium 1969-2003 *bong* RIP dilapitated ballparks
  6. I was checking on IMDB and it say there Joe Pesci hasn't made a movie since Gone Fishin (Which was six years ago!). Now I can easily understand why he would go into exile after that dreck but I'm still surprised he hasn't made a movie in such a long time. Now where is Joe Pesci, is he retired? is he in exile after Gone Fishin? Where is the little guy?

    What's so bad about Saliva??

I never called Saliva the worst band in the world. I never even said they were all that bad. As for worst band in the world currently......I'd have to go with Baha Men or one of the third rate nu metal bands (Trapt, Crazy Town, pick or choose any of them).....ick. Actually I know I might get hung by the hairs on my sack, but some death metal could be considered worst music in the world.

    What's your 5 favorite

    5. Clerks: The Animated Series 4. Futurama 3. The Critic 2. Family Guy 1. The Simpsons ( From 1992 to around 1997 about 98% of the episodes ranged from good to genius. Although the last 3 or 4 seasons have been sort of stupid, it's lasted longer than all of my other top 5 combined)

    What's so bad about Saliva??

They're generic, run of the mill and just "there" for me. It's not just because the genre they're in is unhip (Which it is) or they're pop-rock (I like a few pop rock bands). They're just a slightly below average band to me. Nothing distinguishes them from any other band of their genre.

    What's so bad about Saliva??

Egads! I think that's the worst taste in music on this board. Unless DJ Jeff is still lurking around, he preferred the third rate ripoffs of all those bands.

    Goodbye Veteran and Qualcomm Stadiums

I found it especially charming when players blew out their knees on the turf of Veterans Stadium to the screaming delight of the fans in the 700 section. Classy, imitable and most important...elegant.

    MLB MVP Voting

It isn't best baseball player, it's most valuable to their team. Without Dontrelle I don't think the Marlins may have not made it into the playoffs.

    The person above you thread!

^Doesn't know Idi Amin died a month and a half ago. < Isn't really the King of Uganda. But may be TSM's King of Uganda.

What the fuck happened to Joe Pesci?

You're right *slaps himself on the head*. I should have known; after all who would've picked Gone Fishin to be their last movie?

Bah I've never done anything like that. I gotta do one that involves the Dungeon of Doom.

What the fuck happened to Joe Pesci?

I guess it's a good thing he retired considering two of the last movies he made were the aforementioned Gone Fishin and 8 Heads in a Duffel Bag. Quite while your ahead I guess or in this case, quit before you make direct to video movies.

    the 2003-04 NBA Season

I think LeBron will disapoint but that's kind of obvious. Lebron will have a good season for a rookie but don't expect great numbers until his third or fourth season. My prediction for the finals: Lakers over Pistons in 6.

    What's so bad about Saliva??

I guess you could call them pop-rock. But there first album were poppy nu-metal.
