  1. When my middle school cafeteria briefly served breakfast, their "big ticket" item was The Egg McLincoln, which was an Egg McMuffin. Egg McLincoln doesn't even make sense, it's just the school name! I remember hoping that the school would get sued out of their wits by McDonalds but alas it never happened.
  2. I thought it was pretty good but then again I am an unabashed and unashamed fan of Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaborations. It paled in comparison to the original though.
  3. I got a sweet ass History Channel documentary about The Dark Ages (entitled appropriately enough The Dark Ages) from Netflix this weekend. Pretty great stuff, plenty of beheadings and religious persecution and all that jazz.
  4. Yeah, a good portion of the audience when I saw Knocked Up was middle aged couples. I don't think Superbad will get that demographic. Still I think it'll make plenty of money in theaters and it'll make an absolute killing on DVD. Off topic, but the most out of place movie patron I've ever seen was when I saw Hustle and Flow, there was an elderly white woman behind me and the weird thing is she really enjoyed the movie. Go figure. Either that or this middle aged guy that sat next to me and my friends when we saw Reign of Fire and yelled at us for making wisecracks amongst ourselves throughout the movie. And the odd thing was we were the only ones in theater. Why he sat next to us I'm not sure.
  5. I saw The Balls of Fury trailer before Hot Fuzz and there was not a single laugh to be had. And this was a raucous opening night audience where a lot of the audience was probably stoned out of their gourd and willing to laugh at almost anything. This looks like one of those comedies that has Walken in it for the sake of Walken in it and for no other reason. Sort of OT but what was the last non-comedy movie Walken was in? The guy has made a good career out of spoofing himself for the last 15 years or so. I'm not sure if he could go back to dramas now.
  6. I'll say Superbad opens with $15 million at #3 or #4 for the weekend. It's got a lot of buzz amongst my friends but I don't think it'll really appeal to outside of the 18 to 24 demographic that 40 Year Old Virgin or Knocked Up did. I'm really looking forward to seeing it though. Probably the movie I've been most looking forward to all summer.
  7. SummerSlam '89 is one of those fun shows, sure there's a lot of crap and filler but there's enough good stuff to carry the show. As for Warrior/Rude, I'd say it's a bit better than Warrior/Hogan but worse than his series with Savage.
  8. I'm surprised Ebert gave it ***. I got to say the crticial reaction for it has been way better than I thought it would be but that's not saying much since I thought it'd get a total drubbing. Most of the reviews I've read have been "Well it was alright but it would have been better with someone that wasn't Andy Samberg as the lead." I think I'll definitely give a rental.
  9. "I don't care how many stewardesses you've banged, you're still a lousy pilot!"
  10. I like the podcast mostly because of the good guests but yeah, he's one awkward as hell host. Case in point, the last one with Tony Stewart. It was a half hour of Tony Stewart no-selling Simmons' jokes and Simmons half assedly trying to pretend he's vaguely interested in NASCAR. The shows where his guests are semi famous buddies of his are pretty good but the other ones are generally awkward. That's why he'd be a terrible replacement for Patrick. With a weekly 30 minute to hour long podcast, it's easy to pick your buddies as guests but for a daily, three hour show? Not so much. I'm a big Simmons fan but I'd have a hard time listening to the guy for more than an hour a week.
  11. Scheduled line up -TNA champion Kurt Angle vs. Christian Cage -Abyss vs. Tomko -Team 3D vs. LAX -Chris Harris and Gail Kim vs. Jackie Moore and James Storm -Jay Lethal vs. Petey Williams -Robert Roode w/ Traci Brooks vs. Eric Young
  12. Who would vote for that (or Insurrextion '03) over One Night Only. Has the full length One Night Only ever been released on VHS here in the states?
  13. Which In Your House is Great White North? Is that the one with Camp Cornette Vs HBK, Ahmed Johnson, and Sid in the main event?
  14. Yeah, he wasn't as bad as the other guys. He wasn't good but I'd take him any day over Craig DeGeorge (his predecessor as pretty boy announcer) and Todd Pettingill (his successor). Pettingill was the absolute pits as an announcer. All he ever did was tell lame jokes and you could tell when he was doing it that he really didn't care for wrestling. At least, DeGeorge and Mooney pretended they cared. Thankfully, Pettingill didn't commentate that much but on the rare occassion I do come across him annoucing on an old tape, I mute it. I don't do that for any other announcer! Not even Lee Marshall.
  15. What was I on? That's all wrong. I've gone really sour on Reinhold Messner since last year. 1. Whatever and Ever Amen 2. Ben Folds Five 3. Rockin' the Suburbs 4. The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner 5. Supersunnyspeedgraphic 6. Naked Baby Photos 7. Songs for Silverman Almost exactly the same as mine I'd rank it 1. Ben Folds Five 2. Whatever and Ever Amen 3 Rockin' The Suburbs 4. The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner 5. Supersunnyspeedgraphic 6. Naked Baby Photos (If yout take off the annoying joke filler, this would be #5 easy) 7. Songs for Silverman 8. Fear of Pop Vol. 1 (Didn't really get this one at all but I only listened to it once a couple years back. Folds attempt at an experimental album. "In Love", his first collaboration with Shatner is actually one of the better Folds-Shatner tracks though) Guster 1. Lost and Gone Forever 2. Keep It Together 3. Ganging Up On The Sun 4. Goldfly 5. Parachute Fountains of Wayne 1. Self titled 2. Welcome Interstate Mangers 3. Utopia Parkway 4. Traffic and Weather 5. Out of State Plates
  16. He was apparently a great heel while he was a wrestler but I highly highly doubt anybody on this board has actually seen his old work. I agree with him being a terrible commentator, I think even Sean Mooney was a little bit better than him. At least he seemed to show some genuine interest in what was going on. Although I will say the short lived heel Lord Alfred Hayes commentating run towards the end of his WWF stint was a guilty pleasure of mine.
  17. I think Predator 3 would be my choice of sequel that I want that would probably end up sucking. A remake of Robocop would be another.
  18. It's former World Tag Champion, Test I think. I was going to guess his former co-partner, Albert. Bah! TNA lets me down again! I was hoping it would be Otto Wanz!
  19. I hope it's The Spring Break Nitro where Team Package fights Sting and Vampiro in a falls count anywhere match and Sting hits Luger with a bowl of bean dip. I believe that's also the same show with Hulk Hogan Vs The Wall (IT'S THE WALL BROTHER!) in the main event.
  20. Yeah, I must have overlooked some of those. The 101 Dalmatians remake isn't a bad kid movie. Not a great one but decent enough. Glenn Close does a decent job of hamming it up. Now 102 Dalmatians, that's pretty shitty. One of those movies that I can't even remember why I saw it in the first place. I think I saw it in high school and it was one of those days before vacation where the teacher didn't do anything so they showed that figuring it wouldn't offend anybody. Think it was the same class where the teacher showed Cool Runnings every other week.
  21. It was The Quebecers... They weren't The Mounties! Nor were they The Rougeaus for that matter. Oh yeah! They were the same guys though, weren't they? Almost...The Rougeau Brothers was Jacques and Raymond Rougeau. Then Raymond retired in 1990, Jacques went on to be the Mountie and in 1993, he teamed up with Pierre Carl-Oullet to become The Quebecers...who for the record, were NOT The Mounties.
  22. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...199907190.shtml The terrible Florida Marlins beat the Sox in a slugfest. Don't remember much about this except for a rain delay and some drunk guy in front of us getting ejected. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...199907210.shtml Another crappy game. All I remember is my eleven year old self getting mad because a bunch of people in our section were rooting for The Orioles. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200308200.shtml Another Red Sox loss, this time to The Oakland As. All I remember from this one was everybody razzing Byung Hyun Kim and Oakland fan in our section getting ejected by the ushers for squabbling with Sox fans. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200407080.shtml Probably the best game I saw live and the first Sox win I've seen. Went at the last minute since my brothers went to a concert in Boston and my dad and I decided to tag along and see if we could get some scalped tickets to the Sox game that night since Schilling was pitching. The Sox storm out to a 7-1 lead but the As slowly catch up before the Sox squeak out a win on a walk off Bill Mueller double in the 10th. An awesome game. Ended up trading up our crappy grandstand seats we had for the first six innings for some great box seats for the last three. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200407221.shtml Pretty crummy game. All I remember is it was hot as hell (first half of a double header) and David Ortiz hit two triple (!) http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/MO...200408130.shtml My first and unfortunately last game at Olympic Stadium. Picked a good one, saw Roger Clemens pitch. Saw the tallest player ever to hit a home run hit a home run (7 foot Expos pitcher Jon Rauch off Clemens no less). Was a pretty damn good game too as well as The Expos won in 12. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200409150.shtml Don't remember much about this one except my dad's co-worker being completely plastered and showing photos of his hot girlfriend on his cell phone to a the 12 year old kids seated next to us. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BA...200504190.shtml Don't remember too much about this one except for being taken aback by Camden Yards. Hell of a ballpark that place is. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BA...200504200.shtml It was about 75% Sox fans that night. Absolutely crazy. Probably one of the most fun times I've had at a game. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BA...200504210.shtml It was 50/50 this night in terms of the ratio of Orioles fans to Sox fans. The most intense atmosphere I'll ever see at an April game. Then again, I was seated in a section filled with some hardcore Os fans. Great pitching duel between Matt Clement and Rodreigo Lopez. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200508020.shtml Don't remember much about this one except being in the centerfield and everybody being in love with Johnny Damon. How quickly feelings change... Oh this was also in the weird period where Curt Schilling was the closer. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200607190.shtml Good pitching duel, another hot as hell day game. Troy Brown was in attendance for this game. My dad's former co-workers who we randomly saw after the game gave us really bad directions home. Those jerks! http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/NY...200705250.shtml Shitty park, great atmosphere. Was sitting in the upper deck with a bunch of drunken, hostile Yankees fans. Hilarious. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BO...200707160.shtml Surprisingly good pitching performance by Kason Gabbard. Third year in a row, where the only tickets I could get for Fenway was against the Royals, weird.
  23. It was The Quebecers... They weren't The Mounties! Nor were they The Rougeaus for that matter.
  24. That was even worse than I thought it would be!
  25. I think the 1976 version is the horrible one The sequel to the 1976 movie is the real terrible one. I know there have been good remakes but has there ever been a good sequel to a remake?
