  1. I don't see this mentioned anywhere else but TNA is doing two shows in Massachusetts at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in Hyannis on June 21st and The South Shore Music Circus on June 22nd. The WWE usually runs house shows at these venues in the summer. IIRC, they each hold about 3,000. Good to see TNA doing more shows in the Northeast. Hopefully they can do a show in Maine (Yeah...wishful thinking on my part)
  2. My mom doesn't like wings but she's the only person I know that doesn't (Outside of the several vegetarians and vegans I know) It's been way too long since I've had wings.
  3. I was reading a recent interview with him and he said he's lost 30-40 pounds since he left WWE.
  4. Aw man, one of my favorite old school novelty songs! RIP Bobby Boris
  5. Yeah, it was a pretty solid mini series. I agree with Ripper though, the shows were kind of thin at times. I think it would have worked better as a 3 or 4 part mini series rather than a six part one. And no, it's not in continuity with The Wire but a few actors from The Wire show up. Most notably (and oddly), Lester Freamon as one of the main crackheads.
  6. Frank Stallone- "Far From Over" It's been too long since I've listened to the great music of Frank Stallone.
  7. I'm pretty sure it was the dress. And Jeff Beck? No offense, great guitar player but was Clapton and Carlos Santana busy?
  8. Aw man! White Stripes are coming to Portland on July 22nd! I'm there! Especially since it's a rare thing when somebody good comes to Maine.
  9. OK just heard another contender- Jennifer Love Hewitt did a cover of "Me and Bobby McGee" and the track was acapella except for the use of bongos. It was as bad as you would think it would be.
  10. Yeah, really, a terrible song and an even worse cover. While we're on the topic of "Under Pressure", Gerard Way and Bert McCracken's (the singers for My Chemical Romance and The Used respectively) cover of that song is up there on the list of the worst.
  11. Did anybody have David Halberstam? I'm assuming nobody did.
  12. Another quirky show I rented, SCTV Network 90 Vol. 1. I'm downright shocked I haven't seen this show until now. It's like the missing link between Monty Python and SNL (Yes, I know it came after both). Some of the pop culture references are a bit too obscure even for me but I'm really digging most of it so far. I love Taxi Driver starring Gregory Peck.
  13. That was a pretty bad show. I taped it (I was at a concert on Saturday) and I couldn't even get through the whole thing. Doesn't seem like I missed much.
  14. YES! RIP Boris, you were one of my favorite presidents of any country ever. Whenever I saw that stock footage of you dancing, I laughed my ass off.
  15. Neil Sedaka with Elton John- Bad Blood Not saying much but this is perhaps the most badass Neil Sedaka song ever. He says "bitch". Though I could really do without the flute solo.
  16. It was on CSNY's last album IIRC.
  17. Hate to double post. But saw Guster last night at The Boston Opera House...damn good show. The best part was a special appearance by Bob Saget. And I'm not joking, Danny fuckin Tanner showed up during the encore.
  18. I just rented The Adventures of Pete and Pete: Season One from NetFlix and man, I'm surprised a show that bizarre was on Nickelodeon at one point. Damn good show though and I like the fact that they used actual teenagers to play teenagers. And the guest stars were all great, the best was Steve Buscemi having a prank war with the Petes dad.
  19. Another decent but forgettable show outside of The SNL Digital Short which was hilarious. SNL has had a string of these OK shows since they came back from Christmas break. I guess it's better than a streak of crappy shows like 04-05 though.
  20. (1) Dallas Vs (8) Golden State : Dallas wins 4 games to 2. (4) Houston Vs (5) Utah Houston in 6 (2) Phoenix Vs (7) L.A. : Suns in 5 (3) San Antonio Vs (6) Denver: San Antonio in 7 (1) Detroit Vs (8) Orlando: Detroit wins 4 games to 1 (4) Miami Vs (5) Chicago : Heat in 7 (2) Cleveland Vs (7) Washington : Cavs win in a sweep. (3) Toronto Vs (6) New Jersey: Raptors in 7
  21. Damn, Sanjaya got eliminated earlier than I expected. I was certain that he'd outlast Phil and Chris and possibly Lakisha.
  22. Lolz. It's an act. 1) Simon is the reason Sanjaya is on the show, in the first place. 2) If Simon really threatened to leave, the show would be over. Thus, the results would be fixed. I should have been more clear. That was really a hypothetical question, I don't think the producers will let Simon leave any time in the near future. I bet Sanjaya lasts another 2 or 3 weeks, a month tops before he gets dumped. They might let him get a bit further than Scott whatshisface did.
  23. Let's say Sanjaya wins and Simon does quit like he says he would. Who would replace him? Do they go with another British guy (Like the jerk judge from So You Think You Can Dance?) or a completely different route? If Simon leaves, I think the show is toast within a year or two. Which I guess is why so many people want Sanjaya to win.
  24. Oh yeah, another thing my brother told me about the Todd Rundgren concert was that Todd "rapped" and that it was incredibly embarrassing. Couldn't have been worse than the time I heard Stephen Stills rap though.
  25. Man, I'm surprised Phil Stacey and Chris are in the top three more than anything.
