  1. Who's the next manager to get slashed? I'm putting my money on Frank Robinson. Everytime I see him, he just looks like he's slowly going insane managing the 'Spos. I heard in Sporting News, the players, particularly "Jurassic" Carl Everett are really getting sick of him.
  2. I knew I forgot someone. LF-Trot
  3. As bad as Ortiz's fielding is, I think the fact that he is a a mothafucking RBI machine makes up for it. Here's how I'd have the Red Sox line up, Edit: In no particular order 1B-Mark Bellhorn (He's been learning 1B, might as well give him the nod. What's the other option? Dave McCarty?) 2B-Pokey SS-Nomar (Until traded) 3B- Bill Mueller (Youkillis in the mean time) LF- I really don't know. Kapler? CF-Damon RF-Manny DH-Papi I think the Sox should trade Nomar for Edgar Renteria straight up. It sounds like a trade stupid enough to work.
  4. Coach K is meeting with Lakers front office for the Lakers coaching job according to ESPN News. I really don't know about that move. I think Buss would be smart enough not to hire a college coach.
  5. And Steve Kerr has five more. Steve Kerr is my man!
  6. Too bad Zach works for the Game Show Network now. I assume none of you no that though. I only know it because there was a little blurb in the Sporting News or something like that.
  7. My prediction for tonight's game, Red Sox 6 Yankees 4. Ramirez comes up with some key hits and the bullpen shuts the Yankees down. I predicted last year's NBA finals correctly so now I'm just making predictions on everything. Now if anyone needs help placing bets for tonight's WNBA games....
  8. I'm glad the proposed Chicago-Boston trade was rejected. It was the #3 pick and Tyson Chandler for Pierce. The so-called development time for Chandler has shown that he's nothing more than an slightly above average power forward. It may be the fanboy in me but I still believe a team built around Pierce could make a decent playoff run, if you had one other star or several good veteran role players.
  9. Ever hear of a decade called the 1970s? Cause I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't. You see rock stars got arrested all the time back then.
  10. Should be a good Red Sox-Yanks series, I'm fully prepared for AngleSaults emotional outbursts in case of a Yankees victory or defeat. I'm hoping AngleSault goes on one of his nonsensical rants. The Red Sox offense has been absolutely on fire for this past series (With the exception of Saturday), but I really don't see that happening this series. Hopefully D-Lowe can squeak out a victory tommorow night against Javier Vasquez.
  11. Well I'm sure the Philly Phanatic could manage just as well as Larry Bowa....
  12. Spymob-Sitting Around Keeping Score (Some great power pop. Really strong Todd Rundgren influence. 7.5-10) 20th Century Masters: Best of Tears For Fears, the Millenium Collection. (Haven't listened to it. Really didn't want to go out and buy Tears For Fears albums. Besides it was only $9.91)
  13. I'd give my boys, the Celts a C. Got a few guys that I'd suspect to be future roleplayers. They should have picked Jameer Nelson instead of Al Jefferson, Nelson can make an impact right out of the starting gate. Nothing stands out at me as great, nothing stands out as being horrible. Just an average draft. Hopefully the Celtics will pull something off this off season.
  14. Gett Off- Prince. The Diamonds and Pearls era is really underrated. It's no Purple Rain or Sign 'O' The Times. But it's still pretty damn good, although the rap influences can get annoying.
  15. I only have one official concert planned out this summer. But it's well worth it. Motherfuckin Prince, Musicology Tour, August 18th at the Fleet Center in Boston. Three hours of Prince with no worrying of shitty opening acts (Although I'm a little upset Prince didn't pick the Time to be an opening act). I might also go to a Blue Oyster Cult/UFO double bill in late September at a 2000 seat ball room. The venue itself is terrible(It's like a huge Holiday Inn lounge) but tickets are only $20 and Jason Bonham's glorified Led Zeppelin tribute is opening.
  16. Sidney Ponson is not a #1 starter. I repeat not a #1 starter. And after this kind of start, I'm wondering if he's even worthy of being called a quality #2 starter. Then again the Orioles have absolutely no one could enough or experienced enough to be called a #1 starter.
  17. July 11: North Atlantic Blues Festival, Rockland, Maine. I'm kind of getting dragged to this, but I'm also half interested. July 22: Boston Red Sox Vs Baltimore Orioles, Boston, Massachusetts. Hopefully I'l finally be able to see the Red Sox win in person. If the Orioles beat them, then I might just drown myself in the Charles River. August 13-15: Montreal Expos Vs Houston Astros, Montreal, Quebec. Roger Clemens better be pitching. It'd be amusing to see Carl Everett charge the mound against Clemens. Hopefully the Astros will be in the pennant race so the game will be somewhat interesting. August 18th: Prince, Boston,Massachusetts. Got terrible seats, but it's fucking Prince so it's worth it. I might work a bit and might just lay around the house.
  18. Man, I thought Bay Area fans were easy going. Looks like some of the antics of the NY/Boston/Philly fans have rubbed off on you. Here's a fact or fiction for you, The Expos will average more then 10,000 people in attendance (This is Puerto Rico and Montreal attendance btw)
  19. Well I'm seeing at least one major league team (The Houston Astros) and who are you to say that "Jurassic" Carl Everett isn't a a major league player ?
  20. I'd take that deal. Actually the Orioles have been giving us troubles. I think we went 10-9 against them last year and so far this year I can say the Red Sox are that much above .500 against the Orioles.
  21. Perhaps they were bribed by Dmitri Young?
  22. I gotta go with Cold Pizza. The hosts have no personality, I don't know who exactly they're appealing too. The show has too much sports talk for the Today Show crowd and isn't fast paced enough to draw the Sports Center crowd. The show as a whole is very flat and generic.
  23. What games are you folks planning to attend this summer? I just got tickets for the first part of a double header at "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" Fenway Park (According to the Fenway Park brochure). The game is between the Sox and the ubershitty Baltimore Orioles. Hopefully I get the good game of the double header. I didn't spend $27 plus service charges to see an infield consisting of Diamond Dave McCarty, Ceaser Crespo, Pokey Reese and Kevin Youkilis. I'm also heading down on September 15th to see the Red Sox play the Devil Rays again at Fenway. Man, I didn't think there might be playoff implications to this game when I bought the tickets in March. I also plan to head north to the Spaceship Dome (Or Olympic Stadium or Stade de Olympique as the Frenchies call it) to see a series between the Expos and Houston Astros in August. Roger Clemens damn well better start during this series. Certainly I don't want to see a series between the god awful Montreal Expos and the mediocre Houston Astros. So anybody planning to see any major league ball this summer? A question for alkeiper, do you think this year's Expos could go down as one of the 10 worst MLB teams? They're on pace to lose 108 games. Frank Robinson talked about how Carl Everett and Nick Johnson's returns would spark the offense, but it really hasn't. No one's hitting .300 or anything near it except for Nick Johnson who's only had limited playing time.
  24. I was on a chat room on ESPN.com with some ESPN.com writer (I forget his name) who helped compile the list. Literally they forgot the 2003 Detroit Tigers. He said they'd probably be the number one pick if it weren't for that.
  25. 1999 Great American Bash is a cure for insomnia. Not one memorable match, period. I can't even remember the main event, something like Randy Savage Vs Kevin Nash. I think this is the PPV where Sting gets "mauled" by dogs.
