I'm bustin' back, that's all! Why do you think I'm deadly serious or dwelling on this? Like I said, I just get the occasional lol out of it, that's all. This board needs it. I'd actually appreciate that sort of honestly. i.e. he didn't say that. It's less "I want to make games for families" and more "I want more people than just Nintendo fanboys to kiss my ass." Oh boo-hoo. Poor Shiggy. It's not a bad thing for him to make the type of games that he wants. By all means, more power to him. However, as Miyamoto goes, so goes the whole company. I personally put a bit of blame on Shiggy for designing that dogshit Gamecube controller, and a bit more blame on whoever designed the Gamecube's storage medium. Amen.

Boo hoo, so you didn't find it as amusing as I did. Too bad. Is that the best you can do, Lush? Come up with something a bit wittier. Plus, I didn't say anything about the newest lightgun game spinoff to be dumped on Wii, since there's nothing to say--just that I don't get why anyone would want Survivor 1 to play now. I didn't say anything about the recent Madworld controversy, where parent groups had meltdowns after learning that sometimes, occasionally, the Wii can play real video games! I didn't bust on the recent Miyamoto interview where he smugly declares how he'd rather make the type of games coming out on the Wii rather than more 'traditional' projects. It's other people and companies that are making the jokes. I'm just laughing at them. You should too. The Wii has a Grey's Anatomy video game! Come on! I found the existence of a Dirty Dancing game just as amusing, but even more disappointing. Thank you! North Americans never actually got Survivor 2, but that's good to know.

Because if there's anything that the Wii needs, it's PS1 ports of games nobody liked anyway. Hence I said update, not port. Sounds you meant a "remake." BTW, did anyone see South Park this week? Because if so, I just want to say...today I learned there's a Grey's Anatomy game for the Wii. Yeah. I guess that figures. It's the Wii.

  5. Yeah, Eants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mugen_Senshi_Valis#Valis_X Reverse-Type-Mooned! (Type-Moon made the hentai games Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night, which became non-hentai mangas and animes, and became the basis for fighting games Melty Blood and Fate Unlimited Codes, respectively.)

  7. Wolf Team, creators of Cobra Command, Final Zone, and the Earnest Evans series. Although, the company staff and history is tied up with Telenet Japan (makes of the Valis series) and Renovation. In any case, no, they're 3rd party too.
  8. If I were a betting man, I'd say 2012 at the earliest, with WiiHD likely before then/first.
  9. I'm having trouble thinking of even 10 quality, 1st party, non-licensed-property titles that Sega could use for a Sega CD collection. 1. Sonic CD 2. Shining Force CD 3. Um... I'm out. The Lunar games are Working Designs and were already remade on PS1 anyway. Snatcher is Konami of course. Etc, etc. Plus Sega can't emulate the games anyway (any of the emulated Sega CD or Saturn games to show up later were reverse engineered PC ports, like Sonic CD on Gems Collection and Panzer Dragoon in Orta).

  11. Well, you kind of have the company wrong; it's actually developed by IO Interactive, which is now part of Eidos. However the point itself is fair. IO went from the Hitman games and Freedom Fighters to Kane & Lynch. That may just be a hiccup, though. They're currently working on Mini Ninjas.
  12. The Megadrive one? Oh god. I'll get the collection sometime soon, though.

  14. I don't think we'll see a truly "new" system for a while. Microsoft is sitting pretty right now. They finally got the bugs out of the 360 it appears, and the system is finally profitable. They're sitting on the industry leader (technically) and have really good software sales. I'm sure they're doing the R&D for a new system, but with the current economy it's safe for them to hold off a while. Sony releasing a new system soon would be suicide. They're still not where they want to be user base wise, and they're got a lot of ground to try to make up for. They need to keep supporting it strong for another 4 years I would say. Nintendo will likely roll out multi-colored Wiis if their sales numbers start to slip, possibly Wii HD if we see HDTV penetration increase within the next few years. However, for the immediate future they've got DSi coming out to print money.

Secret Service isn't worth 40 dollars. Not orty, or four, either. On another board I've heard it called the worth FPS someone has ever played; worse than Turning Point and Legendary.
  16. Poor, naive Chris... Japan in general seems to be very iffy about DLC. I can't think of many Japanese companies that do it, and of the ones that do--Namco-Bandai--they're absolutely evil about it.
  17. Oh, I don't have an XBox. Actually, the closest thing I have to a next-gen system is the DS. I don't know if this is what SO4 is, but the Japanese cutesy superhero anime video game style is starting to wear thin. I guess that's why I'm turning to more organic RPGs like 7th Dragon - it's big on customization, has a plot that's interesting enough, and has that old school humor that comes from the NPCs, and checking out stuff around town, like Lunar did. Fair 'nuff. I actually need to finish Etrian 1 sometime soon (I still have 2 sealed). I'm on the 3rd stratum I think. I recently finished Mother 3 after having it put on the backburner for Chrono Trigger DS. The sort of crap I'm talking about with SO4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNEz1P2F7cA Oh, Japan...

No More Heroes exceeded expectations, though! Madworld totally gets 50 theoretical internet dollars from me--I would spend it if I still had a Wii.
  19. I've come to the conclusion that DLC is bullshit, and people who pay money for it are fools. I've found no room for exceptions for this. The only "DLC" I thought was any good was the Crackdown Free For All pack--which was free, so it doesn't really count, and Tomb Raider Anniversary--which used the Legend disc's assets to keep the game size down. (Also, it was released on disc anyway). All too often, companies are charging you for crap on the disc already, or something of no worthwhile value. http://www.destructoid.com/the-most-rubbis...ve-124257.phtml
  20. Legend is really good. Anniversary is good too, but the last chapter can be a real bitch with timed jumps that you'll fall to your death if you miss. On the bright side, the checkpoints are at every jump at that point. Underworld I only played the demo for. The 360 version of Anniversary I hear is really buggy (at least the disc version). I played the PS2 one, but that has it's share of non-game-breaking glitches, too.
  21. SO3: What are your thoughts on Star Ocean 4? I've seen a bunch of the cinemas, and it looks like embarrassing horseshit, no matter how good the gameplay might be.
  22. From what I've heard, it's a traditional platformer, then. I can't speak for the Wii version, but repeated bosses and some filler aside, the PS2 one was fantastic. Best Zelda clone ever.
  23. Jungle Beat has new levels, new checkpoints, and re-arranged enemy placement. It doesn't actually support the original bongo controllers, either. The original Jungle Beat supported the standard Cube controls, too, actually. Pikmin is just GC version with new controls.
  24. Eh, wasn't necessary, but doesn't really do any harm. It does make me wish there was some new content, because I freakin' loved Prime 3.
