Spike TV announces noms for their farce of an awards show
AndrewTS replied to AndrewTS's topic in Video Games
There are also games missing that could have been nominated but aren't out yet, such as the new Prince of Persia. It's gotten better, but the awards will never live down their debut, where the show starts and they go "LOL GOTY--MADDEN!!!!", which was screwed up on so many levels. -
Zombies aren't discriminatory. You're all food. A bunch of white zombies even even elected a black leader way before us! I bet they're still not good at basketball, though.

I'm surprised how few of the articles pick up on, ironically, how long it took to have a zombie-themed game using Africa as a setting, when I'd think it would be one of the first candidates.

Yahoo this week apparently was lazy and decided to throw up a story from over a year ago, then. I remember that crap, too. BTW, when discussing a news story, it helps to link to it. Capcom is just running out of people to zombify and have you chop up. Also, zombies. are. not. humans!!! http://chicagoist.com/2005/12/07/chicago_g..._it_aint_so.php

When you hit that button, run across to the other side, climb up, and get through the gate before it closes, the part right after that? If you mean that grip right after you run up the wall, you can't really fall and die, so I guess it must be some other part. However, I did have a similar false start there. I got the game and really like it. It's pretty much like a 1st person Prince of Persia. Running, jumping, finding a path to get from point a to b using the terrain, running along walls, really BAD combat though. Seriously. Like, I know Faith probably is like 98 pounds, but if I jump kick a guy and hit him square on, he should go down, darn it!! I think that the relative barrenness of the game's landscape could be varied up a bit by some non-opposition people. Just random citizens once in a while, even. I haven't tried it out yet, but this looks amusing: http://www.destructoid.com/faith-goes-2d-i...me-111268.phtml

I love this conservative meme. Is anyone who hasn't sucked down the GOP kool-aid by the gallon actually believe this? Is she going to magically get smarter, less corrupt, more truthful with some Senate experience? He just needs to win enough of them over to be reelected, and we'll be much further towards real social progress. Should that happen, in 8 years, even more of the racist, Fox-watching old people will be dead. More young progressives, of voting age, will have lived under a black president, and perhaps have felt the damage of the Bush presidency in their lifetimes. If nothing else, the conservative monopoly, and the inherent progressive handicaps, on the White House should be effectively over. The Reps need to evolve soon, whether they like it or not. Naked appeals to fear, veiled appeals to racists, and blatant trolling against intellectualism are not going to be reliable things to bank on.

Much like his presidency, lol amirite? What will Cheney do? That's a bit more interesting a question, I think.

Yeah, but it took a lot for us to get here. http://www.theonion.com/content/news/natio...hitty_enough_to You can have W when we're done with him, if you want! That'll inspire ya!

Space Harrier 2 on Genesis sucks too, sadly. Well, the 32X one is basically a straight port of the arcade game. Space Harrier in Shenmue (not sure if it was 1, 2, or both) is one of the best parts of those games, to me. Space Harrier is also one of the few good titles in the Sega Classics Collection, even though some of the others (like the awful Golden Ax remake) sucks.

Game Gear one had no separate shoot/whip button. Freakin' ouch. Peter Puppy's level wasn't so bad if you took the easy route and managed to get him to the first house.

EWJ has that brilliant animation going on, but like Aladdin, Lion King, etc. sometimes it comes at the expense of more clearly-defined collision-detection. It's mostly very, very good, but Buttville in EWJ and the salamander level in EWJ... and the timed sub level in game one... Namco-Bandai appears to be looking into redesigning Klonoa, perhaps for the Wiimake or perhaps for a new game. The new version of Klonoa has...'tude I guess. Go show your support for OG Klonoa! Or be a soulless jerk and vote for new Klonoa! Whatever! http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=2qr8...2f0Yk6kFQ_3d_3d The hardest part is really the "play in one sitting" part, which isn't so bad, cuz there are cheats. However, the second game was weird. It has a "password" system that is really just "infinite continues if you collect crap." When you turn the game off, you lose 'em. It never made much sense to me. I think both games are pretty brilliant otherwise, though.

You try it in safe boot yet? Does windows explorer have the same issue or just IE?

Civil rights aren't a "state issue." Fuck that noise.

Now all you have to do is put up with that annoying hanging Wii Mote. Do you play standing up? No. Either I lay it on the floor, where an animal might end up yanking on the cord, put it on my lap, where it eventually *WILL* fall on the floor, or lay it to the side of me somehow, where it often ends up hanging across my wrist. Yeah, it's the preferable choice for all of the N64 titles I have on VC.

Now all you have to do is put up with that annoying hanging Wii Mote. Or buy one of those holders to keep the Wiimote locked to the pad. Which lasts about 5 minutes then won't hold because the wiimote is so much heavier. Or use a Wavebird and deal with the crappy d-pad. Or go with a 3rd party pad. =/ FWIW, this week last year we got Samural Ghost, Magician Lord, and Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, so there is precedent for it.

http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/...%20of%20shadows Other outlets are criticizing the [lack of] length, though. Also, on the PSP/PS2 game: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/...%20of%20shadows

Rather than porting down to the PS2 they could make a version that works between the PSP and PS2, which wouldn't be hard. While the same game wasn't on two different systems, I believe similar things occurred with the Kim Possible PS2/PSP titles (side scrollers, 2.5D elements). I've heard the side-scroller is actually really good, though (apparently it's a Metroid/Castlevania style title).

"No plans" for DSi-exclusive retail titles (i.e. all downloads): http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=20518 DSi-only titles will be region-locked, but otherwise not: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=20525 LOL at how NOA doesn't know jack.

IGN gave it a 5.7. It's apparently ok but just above average. I'll be renting at least. I couldn't put it down; so awesome.

If anyone was expecting E3 to have a megaton announcement, they were just kidding themselves. However, it should have still been better than that. The fact that the major Nintendo releases for the rest of this year are Wii Music and Animal Crossing is pretty sad. No Reggie, Animal Crossing is a not a major "core" title. 1up's Jeremy Parish--that site's most outspoken and consistent Nintendo apologist, posted a blog entry about this: http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=891969...cUserId=5379721 So...what I get from that is a) he doesn't really like it, and b) buy a 360 if you don't like what Nintendo is offering these days. And this is what I feel the problem is. Wii Music isn't the problem. The lack of major, awesome titles alongside it is.
