  1. Maybe next week when Teddy long comes out... *sing* Austin will try to kill him with a fooorkliiiift. Assuming these are correct--wow, no HHH or Orton. I'm sooo shocked. Aren't you, AS?
  2. I get what the point of what Mike's saying, and it's a good storyline. The problem is..it's Holly. He's still bland in the ring, only good on the mic as the "Big Shot" comedy character, unmarketable, bitter undeserving bastard ex-Sparky Plugg Bob Holly. He can...uh, dropkick pretty well. Big deal, the OVW guys can do that but I wouldn't push them either. It's not the worst idea in the world for a storyline, because it takes advantage of continuity and makes sense. Unfortunately, you're rewarding a prick who should have been fired for his unprofessional behavior years ago, and you're attempting a push that has a slightly higher chance of success as a Billy Gunn push. Incidentally, it looks like we're in for another Billy Gunn push. Although, Mabel's the least convincing, then? That was a complete joke, though, so it doesn't count. He was never built up and pushed as a credible challenger by the WWF.
  3. But only HHH and Jericho have that anymore, and I don't think anyone thinks HHH is Canadian. Kinda odd, since Val's Canadian too. I'm, like Lance, stumped. It wasn't just that they were into cheering fellow Canadians, but Lance in particular. I'm not sure what Austin usually gets in Canada, but I don't remember him being disliked. I wouldn't think they'd expect something like that, let alone Storm being mega-over in the region.
  4. You hit the mark with why HHH is over in Canada. At least I think you did. And Lance outpopping Austin is funny. As Austin had to have been there. I didn't know Austin appeared for house shows. I'd like to think they would boo his ass, because of the way he ragged on Lance prior to that face push that lasted all of a week, until Henry squashed and injured him.
  5. Did anyone buy King Mabel as a legitimate challenger? Sure, he was big and fat, but that's about it. I recall that feud being the biggest disaster of the already-bad Diesel reign.
  6. That's awesome. *I* I wonder what reaction HHH got. It seems he often gets huge ovations in Canada. I dunno if they just hated Nash and Steiner, or maybe they cheer him on for beating the crap out of HBK. The thought of Lance outpopping Jericho is hilarious, too.
  7. "Bob Holly has been served gold on a silver platter. He's made Big Show tap out. He never gets beat down like face challengers usually do. He's kicked out of MONSTER~! Matt Morgan's finisher. And he's made Brock pee his pants week in and week out, which no one else has been able to do since his debut." ... I haven't been watching Smackdown. Yikes. Does this mean that... *gulp*...his push isn't done for once Rumble comes and goes?

    Suikoden series

Other things about Suikoden 1 that I loved (can't speak for 2): Attack ranges of weapons actually mattered Combined spell attacks a la Trigger The music You get your own castle. BOSS! The army vs. army battles, although just glorified rock/paper/scissors, were still damn cool. Teleportation to previously visited areas and back to the castle. The huge selection of party members. Want a cute elf chick, a dancer, a sinister looking wizard, a master swordsman, and an ax-wielding barbarian in your party? Go right ahead. Want some cooks, blacksmiths, artists, etc? You can do that, too. It's 2-D, and despite people ragging on the graphics, they're great except for the overhead map. I still remember seeing Flik do a toast and the glasses being animated to clink together. There's no need to buy a new weapon all the time. Just find the best blacksmith available and he'll improve your current weapon. That's much better than having to manage the large number of possible weapons in the game. The Rune system is like a combination of Espers and Relics...which is what FFVII's materia turned out to be. Hmmmm. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): One of your party members dies, but you can actually do something about it, and you can event avoid an unnecessary death entirely.
  9. Personally I'm backing Britney for first female president. And being very glad that I'm in another country. We can do ALOT worse than Britney. Never underestimate the stupidity of the 18-30 age group Eminem is a superstar, for christ sakes. And WWE's ratings/buyrates/attendance haven't changed much in the past 2 years.
  10. *Edited for accuracy* Anything Austin says these days. Geez, he either uses the same old material, or comes up with something really stupid. It still gets cheered, though. Rudo, you lose 5 SP for having Torrie seem somewhat intelligent. It's COMPLETELY out of character.
  11. Deon Dark: What was worng with using the Rico name? "Will you stop?/Give it a rest, etc." Oh crap, Lawler's running his big fat mouth and saying something stupid and/or tasteless, but we're live so I can't really do much about it. Isn't that more Schiavone's thing?
  12. The WWE book for the illiterate fan: Unscripted.
  13. Oh great--they're going to shove this movie down the fans throats again. Last Man Standing? This is, like, the first WWE show I've seen in about 2 months.
  14. Good Lord, people are idiots. Jericho's geeky fan impression is priceless, though.
  15. This gear doesn't want to unlock. That's apparently not the way. I've tried it both ways (using Hayabusa as his opponent) and it's not working.
  16. Why is Angle above Eddy?
  17. That reminds me of when the rope broke at No Mercy 02, and Jericho had to improvise, and did a regular moonsault. THAT I can buy as a finisher. I don't know why he doesn't use that instead. Yeah, it's a high flying finisher, but they still pushed Savage.
  18. As in "Kick-Wham-_____?"
  19. Well, it's been built up as a finisher so there's no recent examples you can name. Sting and Rock also don't really use it like a submission--it's more of a move to get a pop and isn't used after damaging the back/legs to get a submission win. I don't even recall Storm using it that way. Although Flair used the Figure 4 also mid-match and would milk it for several minutes, but him and his opponent would usually be flopping around and fighting for the ropes or a reversal. Still, I'm rather amused at the WWE talking about switching to a safer, more ground-based submission style, but they kill most of the submission finishers and don't really try to build up any, relying more on rest holds. Although if you're saying that's what they're trying to do with the body scissors--build it up as a finisher, wouldn't they have let Randy get some wins with it before using it as a mid-match spot? If they had built it up, the fans would be rooting for RVD to bust out of the hold. Instead, the fans were just bored and hoping that the match would pick up already. Although, I think the Sharpshooter actually looks like a finisher, whereas a body scissors...who could actually buy it as one?
  20. The Rock, Benoit, and Lance Storm have all used it as a finisher. The first two sporadically, however. Storm has used it as a primary finisher and gotten many wins with it when he teamed with Regal though. The Sting version is also very similar, although not quite applied or used in the same manner. So, not the strongest examples, but it is still bought as a finisher by the fans.
  21. Strangely, we have Johnny Ace, inventor of the Ace Crusher, and two guys who derived their moves from it in DDP and Austin in WWE (isn't DDP a road agent now?), and he hasn't gotten one of them to help him pull the move off better or to come up with a version all his own?

  23. It's a shame that it seems you play mostly against All Japan guys, because I'm getting a little bored wrestling Vader, Ace, and Hansen every week. Oh, by the way, how can I tell that I have all the moves unlocked? It seems that I'm a little short on moves and all the WM2000 and Revenge moves are supposed to be in, correct? Would the Angle Slam happen to be in?

    Suikoden series

Would you care to elaborate? I really liked Suikoden 1, and I think it's a great game. I haven't played 2, though.
