T5: DR is like....SUPER Tekken 5. It's a big upgrade.

The Genesis Tournament Fighters is poop. SNES one is best. Karai is in Genesis one, though (unplayable boss). Worth noting is Hyperstone Heist on Genesis. Which is...good, but could have been great given some REAL effort put into it. In case you haven't played it, think of SNES Turtles in Time, as beat 'em ups go, as being a hearty prime rib steak meal at a local restaurant. Fair price, good service, filling and delicious. It's not SoR2, but it's an acceptable alterative to be sure. Hyperstone Heist is like a doggy bag taken home from that same meal. Sure, there's plenty of good parts there, but there's not enough of them, there's maybe a bit more gristle than you'd like for yourself, and it doesn't taste so good reheated. Although there are folks who swear by HSH having better A.I. And yeah, the deluxe X-Men arcade I placed recently, and beyond the novelty of the huge playing field (a mirror trick anyway, it appears), it wasn't that good. Everybody's special power boiled down to a projectile, and the level design I didn't think has held up well. Simpsons has held up better, IMO. It's just that it gets so chaotic it eats quarters big time if you're out of practice. On a related note, Double Dragon hits Live Arcade next week (source: Kotaku).

http://www.ebay.com Although seriously--Wii Sports is a tech demo. It's a tech demo with a fun bowling game, and a boxing game with a control scheme that has *potential* be used much better in a future boxing game. But it's still a tech demo. And it's free unless you live in Japan, where people are paying about $200 for the Wii but buying Wii Sports in massive numbers anyway. WWM was more against similar titles being sold for full retail. I'm not going to enter that argument, as I don't want to split hairs over Wii Sports' "free" remote or the like. =/

Bonk's Adventure I don't find quite so hot, and in fact mediocre in its own right. However, it appears Revenge is far superior, so I'll probably give it a shot down the line.

no wai! But Art of Fighting is better than Virtua Fighter, anyway.
-
As movie games tend to do, the price for Spiderman 3 will drop sharply soon, plus you'll be able to judge better by WOM than by reviews. So I'd say C&C on that principle.

Yeah. Honestly the only thing that excites me slightly about the Simpsons movie is the possibility of the arcade game hitting XBLA. Konami in the early/mid 90s had a habit of making terrific original games and sequels, but even their licensed games were often classics in their own right. For instance, Batman: TAS for SNES. My fave Batman game ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lUYIOqGZ_8...ted&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wtn7HyyTWVY...ted&search= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ioHS-Jy1NU8 (Not to be confused with the Genesis version by Sega/Clockwork Tortoise, which was a technically AMAZING title for the system...but as a game it was a massively annoying pile of suck. EDIT: Oh, but yeah---Joker is a annoyingly long fight. And....ARGH, I HATE Trouble in Transit!! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMlwjt_2vtw...ted&search= Really annoying Spyhunter-ish stage...which Ubisoft ripped off for Batman Vengeance on GBA.

Gamefaqs: I hadn't played too much of arcade TiT, while I've played through SNES TiT tons of times, so I forgot the diffs. So...SNES TiT FTW. Nintendo should have put THAT on VC.
-
Why? TiT had Baxter Stockman, the Rat King, Metalhead, Bebop and Rocksteady, Leatherhead as bosses plus Krang and (Super) Shredder. EDIT: Plus Toka, Razzor, and Slash. Damn, forgot how many levels/bosses there were in that game. Compared to...B&R, the expected Krang and Shredder...and...um...rock guy? Lame.

Sledge didn't say that. He seemed to be questioning Alex's authority on humor. I'm not going to touch that. However, to compare the deservedly-maligned TMNT to Mega Man seems like he hasn't so much not gotten the joke than he has never heard of the concept of humor itself. Yes, I'm sure he'll be bashing one of the most beloved games in one of the most-enjoyed franchises in history because he picked on that *classic* TMNT. Sounds logical. Mega Man 6, perhaps. Although, I think AVGN seriously needs to send up one of most frustratingly-designed (good) NES games around--Battletoads. Having played the arcade game recently on XBLA arcade, I say "hell no" and "Turtles in Time" in response.

Just so we're clear, we have a few people who get frothingly offended over something that they didn't think was funny, so they make sure to rant about that every time the opportunity presents itself? EDIT: Right, we're on the internet. Of course. Carry on. This statement is flat out stupid, and you should know better LPM.

Except Superman 64.

I disagree. Exploiting freebies from gullible guys is practically all really, really stupid hot chicks know. However, what in the hell would said hypothetical girl be obligated to give "in return" in that situation? I assume you mean actually buying something. Although what girl would be stopping in regularly just for the sake of getting a free demo disc or junk like that? My local stores haven't been as dickish. However, I've seen them frequently answer calls to the store with something like "Thank you for calling Gamestop, where you can buy and trade used games. We're currently sold out of the Wii. Is there anything else I can help you with?" But the display boxes are just asking for it. Still, it's nothing compared to the corporate stupidity that went on during the 360 launch. No, I don't want to place a preorder for the 5th shipment, thanks. Has anyone managed to be in a store when one of the district managers was in? I've been a few times. Most annoying assholes ever. They're so chipper you want to punch them, and they'll spout out every cliche and scripted company line in the book like a damn robot.

Castlevania, Zelda, and Mario are better than Motorstorm. I look forward to not buying VF5 on 360 this July.
-
I went ahead and did that. It'll take a few days before I know, though.
-
My personal answer: no. Japan FF fans were extremely vocal about the change in FFXII's gameplay. Then they bought it anyway. Yes, but this console generation, I think it'll be much harder to make blanket statements that will apply to all the markets. Sony can easily make up lost ground in Japan. For most folks it's going to be Wii or PS3 (or both perhaps at some point). In the other markets--the much larger European and North American markets, competition is a bit stiffer because the 360 is actually a factor. Of course, this is ruling out Lost Odyssey being a runaway hit that sells millions of 360s in Japan.
-
FFXIII could be PS3's big holiday game. Unless MGS4 makes it out sooner than we think.

DC Comics announce three animated movies
AndrewTS replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Television & Film
If there's no cyborg Superman, then I assume Luthor will be filling the villain role. -
Some of those are, but are sometimes broken up into smaller vids and are of poorer quality.

Speaking of AVGN, he has a new video up on the Sega CD, which it up at gametrailers.com. Sega. An Attachment. FMV games. It writes itself. I'll have to finish The List sometime soon... Incidentally, AVGN and the like...I've pretty much seen them all, the best and worst. Check out a few of the better ones: http://www.goldenmediastudios.com/index.ph...tent&pid=28 (highly recommended: Superman 64) http://www.spoonyexperiment.com/games/ (highly recommended: The Thing) http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=UrinatingTree (highly recommended: Moonwalker, T2, Batman Forever)

dbb: that's the point where I'd say, "Sir, I assume you have a computer then. You do? Greeeeeeeeeat. I'd like to open up a browser window...type 'gamefaqs.com' into the address bar....now hit return. See where it says Search? Type Call of Duty 4 in, then click Search. When the results come up, click *right on* the name of the game to the right of where it says X360. NOW, WHAT DOES IT SAY UNDER RELEASE DATE?! REALLY?! *shocked gasp* Then we DON'T HAVE IT and NOBODY ELSE DOES!" *hang up*" If he doesn't have a computer/isn't next to to one, I'd navigate there myself, telling him what I saw. In general, people are morons. Do not try logic on morons, they have a built-in gene resistant to it. Just give them a website like that. If it's on the internet, it must be true. Anyway, if you manage to nab used games cheap and catch some of the better trade in values you can do quite well. I recently traded in Yoshi's Island DS (crap) and Halo 2, which I'd gotten for about 15 and 10 respectively at pawnshops, and got $17 and $12 in credit. Not bad at all. Oh, yesterday I got GTA The Trilogy for Xbox (which is...the 3rd, 4th,and 5th game...) for $17 + tax at Circuit City.
-
That's assuming you want the 3 games in question. Really bad. Enough to buy a PS3.

You people are fickle bastards.
