  1. Maybe so, but he's only the (current) director, while the producers likely want Venom.

Yeah, haven't played much though cuz I have a bum thumb right now, but so far I'm enjoying it. I have .3% on Castlevania before I get the last achievement, too.

I wasn't even aware there were worthwhile hacks for 360, though.

I've updated. I'm not using any firmware hacks, though. I like that the system now will tell me what game I have in the drive, and the marketplace has its own pane.
  5. $2.85/$2.89 in Western PA / Pittsburgh region.
  6. I'm surprised they haven't done it...but yeah, I'd buy it. However, Zelda 2 needs the remake more. If Nintendo fixed up its gameplay issues, pared the difficulty down, redid the graphics and remixed the soundtrack they'd have a vastly more appealing product. It has new bosses, the ability to play as the bosses, "Challenge Mode," a level editor, etc. I bought the game though I don't have a PSP (yet). I suspect we'll get a PSP FFVII release first before a full blown remake.
  7. Square's already remade and ported Final Fantasy I and II more times than anyone cares to keep count of anymore, and put into motion GBA ports of the fine-and-dandy SNES FFs. Final Fantasy 3 (the Japanese game) was the first to get a complete, ground up revamp into a 3D engine. Until now: http://www.dsfanboy.com/2007/05/08/the-ff3...ake-on-the-way/ Oh, and PSP is getting something called "Final Fantasy Dissidia" and the Final Fantasy XII RevWings director wants to make a RevWings sequel. Prepare to be Final Fantasyed UP THE ASS for the foreseeable future, Square fans.
  8. Well, it's an RPG. Which basically lives by its plot and characters, while a solid, engaging combat system really, really helps. And at least to me, the plot and characters sound incredibly uninteresting. Plus the gameplay is going to be old hat, too (turn based, but with QTEs!). Unless you find Crazy Old Bloody Man to be the most scintillating character design you've seen in years, I don't see anything at all to be excited over, either. But..
  9. http://kotaku.com/gaming/no-slimes/square+...nant-258449.php http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=154207 My initial impressions can be summed up as follows: "You suck, Square." Your results may vary.
  10. *has had this quote in his sig for a while...* Ever since Cage stopped doing the tiny no-name independent films he's been whoring himself out for nearly everything, but not quite as he has been the last few years. Wickerman sucked, Ghost Rider was pretty crappy IMO, NEXT was a bomb, and the hits just keep on comin'. If they did make a real film out of that Grindhouse trailer ("...and Nicholas Cage as...Fu Manchu!") it would be practically a step up.
  11. The Tick wasn't very good either, so don't sweat it. Tiny Toons had really good games on Genesis (Buster's Hidden Treasure), NES (Just called Tiny Toon Adventures IIRC), and SNES (Buster Busts Loose). Thanks to Konami, unsurprisingly. The Rocko game was an interesting title to be sure. It was a puzzle game where you had to keep that idiot dog Spunky from getting killed. As for Roadrunner/Wile E., I didn't think Death Valley Rally was any good at all. Desert Demolition was pretty damn good, though.

    Wii

I *probably* have seen one in person, like in a case somewhere, but if not for the logo I probably wouldn't be able to pick one out of a lineup. And 8 bucks for lame, Guy-less, watered-down Final Fight is unacceptable.
  13. There are plenty of initials people pronounce out rather than spell out. Everyone pronounces out GLAAD. OTOH, nobody I've ever heard says "Um-wha" for UMWA.

    Wii

Nintendo is now showing quick gameplay clips of VC titles on their site: http://wii.nintendo.com/virtualconsole.jsp Good thing for some of the more obscure titles (like Shockman), although for most others you could 'tube 'em.
  15. Queen is a tremendous band with a variety of very different but still amazing songs. You should really check them out if you haven't. Yuna: And they're gay.
  16. Hey, I'm not the one saying it. I guess it's to make them pronounced slightly different enough so that you wouldn't have to repeat yourself. "Sness" I've never heard of. Plus it seems too close to "sneeze". "Snezz" I've heard from Brits (as the ones who posted seem to concur), but it bugs me a lot more than "Ness." It sounds like a lame college football nick ("Danny 'The Snezz' Snezzerton" at the 30! At the 20!...") or a sexual ephemism ("They snuck a snuke in the sniz *and* the snezz?!").

Yeah, sometimes it was like a PS1 game, with people going into a store for no reason and being "stuck" there, running into the wall when they should go back out the way they came. If you can't do the ally AI right, I wish developers would just forget about it, because I hate digital babysitting. Gears is much, much better at it but still problematic (although co-op helps clear it up a bit). Of course, it's a larger aspect of the game there. And you don't have to practically spoon-feed and burp your teammates like in DR. Leah was the easiest to deal with, because I just carried her on my back.
  18. They also seem to be the ones most likely to say "Ninty" and "Shiggy."

I gave one of the Japanese tourists a gun and he IMMEDIATELY shot at me. There weren't even any zombies close behind me. But it's ok because when all my potential cases were canceled, I left him behind and he shot himself in the head before he got munched. And you *cannot* just go ahead of Greg, or he will just stop wherever he is and let zombies attack him all they want. I scratch my head at how the "Frank the Pimp" achievement is even possible, unless you somehow can teach all the ladies kung fu.
  20. No, this cannot be. Aaaaaauuuuuuugh! But when I hear "nes" I can only think of this guy:
  21. For the Wii? Haven't heard that one myself. But it doesn't need abbreviating, anyway (I don't know how you could).
  22. I say "regular nintendo" sometimes too. Forgot about that one. "Nintendo" I'd say would be probably more common among NES kids. I'm actually more of a 16-bit child myself (only getting to play Nintendo over at my cousins until early 90s when I got the 16-bit consoles), so I don't have the same attachment to just saying "Nintendo."
  23. I've heard brits and this guy use "ness": He talks about Devil's Crush up until like 2:30 when he starts bitching about "ness" and how much he hates it.
  24. Besides Anya, does anyone else hear "Ness" and "Snez" from other people?
