I seem to recall that they used to show full NFL games because I distinctly remember going to a friend's house for a fantasy draft in 2004 and watching a bit of a Patriots/Colts game from the 90s on NFL Network. It seems like they're really going to ramp up the content this season with the prime-time late season games and airing 2-hour versions of the top 4 games of the week. As for the Super Bowls, maybe the networks are asking for too much to give them the rights to air them (I'm not sure how that all works).

The First Admendment doesn't guarantee anything except that Congress cannot pass any law that fringes on a person's right to express their views, restricts anyone from worshipping God, Buddah or the Everlasting Gobstopper, to gather and basically tell the government that they are fucking things up or to publish a book titled "Why the Government Is Fucking Things Up."

I think that the creation of THREE 24 hour news networks has been the absolute worst thing to happen to media and political debate in a long time. It's just WAYYYY too much information to be able to digest at once and instead of having reasonable debate, a lot of these shows denigrate into shouting matches and broadly paint nearly every issue into Right vs. Left or Liberals vs. Conservatives. Fox News is probably the worst at doing this, but I've seen it on CNN as well (I, like most of America, hasn't watched enough MSNBC to form an opinion other than Olbermann should never have left SportsCenter). That and these networks more often than not spend much too much time on stories that don't really deserve all the airtime they get(Kidnapped/Murdered Young Woman of the Month, for example).

The Drew Carey Show started to tank for me when Drew and Kate got together. Then it completely went in the crapper when they didn't get married and Kate became a very unlikeable character (I'm assuming Christa Miller herself wasn't exactly liked there anymore since she left soon after). It may just be me but How I Met Your Mother steadily declined as the season went on, starting off as something good but ending with a thud with Ted and Robin becoming Ross and Rachel.

Shamrock looks like he's going to puke in that photo. He may be a draw to casual fans, but that's gonna diminish rapidly as guys like Ortiz, Liddell et al get more exposure.

If MLB doesn't want to go back to alternating it or giving it to the team with the best record, having the Interleague Play decide home-field is probably the most fair way to decide it right now.

A game that lasted just 2:33 took an hour more to televise. That says it all. I know I bitched about too much pre-game stuff, but having a 20 minute ceremony IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME is ten times worse.

I know. You'd think they'll be enthralled as these two teams of super athletes give 110% on the field, fighting for every run for the honor of their league and the fact that three or four of them will earn home field advantage for the World Series with a win. I'm guessing Rescue Me will be on by the time the 4th rolls around. Heh, FOX blew off the Canadian anthem, I'm assuming?

26 out of 50, so pretty good in baseball terms. The ones I got wrong pretty much everyone got wrong according to the results.

I didn't like the dynamic between Eddie and the Bots at all and I especially hated that whole 10 minute stretch where Eddie "goes for a smoke" and the riffs just slow to a trickle.

He's been just awful at the plate this year. If he wasn't "The Captain" and revered by the fans for calling a great game for the pitchers, he'd be getting a TON of flak for a guy making $10M/yr.

You know your standing in the bullpen isn't good when you're the last guy in the bullpen but the guy before you goes FOUR innings before the manager says "Well, I guess we have to get THIS guy in now." Farewell Rudy Seanez. I'll bet Hawk had an orgasm.

Time Chasers could have been a pretty good episode (the nerdy "hero", "Pink Boy", J.K. Robertson), but the whole Eddie thing just kills the middle part of it.

So Italy plays like crap for half the game....but they win the Cup on a penalty kicking contest? Yeah, four years is plenty of time between these things.

Why did they get rid of the Golden Goal, anyway? I also think deciding the World Cup title on PKs is incredibly retarded.

Honestly, I watch Colbert pretty much for the Word and even that is hit and miss most of the time. Conan seems to make his guests the most comfortable during interviews and he has that kind of Letterman-ian wit (which has a bit of Carson mixed in) that I prefer far over Leno's style.
