  1. Even if the ball hit the ground, the ump still called the out and AJ took a step back to the dugout before he took off. Granted, the catcher should have tagged him just to be sure, but that was an absolutely horrid job of umpiring since the other umps had their thumbs up their asses. They reversed bad calls in the ALCS last year, so they can do it again.
  2. I'm in shock that not only hasn't it been cancelled yet, Ghost Whisperer is STILL the top show on Fridays. Though NBC is mulling moving Criminal Intent to Fridays, so that might change very soon. And I can't be any more happier that reality TV seems to be finally dying the death I've been waiting for.
  3. If the final three end up being the Paolos, the Weavers and the Pink Ladies, I'm going to shoot my fucking brains out. I was rooting for the Aiello's because they're from Mass, but now I have no clue. Hell, the little kids are showing more maturity than some of these people.

    NFL Week Six

Considering the Patriots' offseason losses and injuries this season, going 4-2 with the schedule they had to start with is a big accomplishment if they win in Denver. Honestly, even if they lose this week, I still think they can go 8-2 the rest of the way and get a wildcard home game since they only really have two tough games from Week 8 (they have a bye Wk. 7) on: Indy at home and at KC. The other games are divsional (and none of the East teams look very good so far) and home games against weak opposition (New Orleans and Tampa Bay, who are a vastly weaker team without Cadillac AND never win when it is cold).
  5. Now it's time for "PK Rips off the Weekly 'He Said, He Said' from Spike's Website", brought to you by Right Guard Extreme.
  6. You all know my story by now. I saw Steph lead off RAW last night and just shook my head. I don't even watch SD anymore because I'm usually doing something else on Fridays, which is a shame because they actually seem to have the better workers and are introducing some new guys nowadays. Impact and UFC Unleashed satiates my thirst for action more than RAW has in months (maybe years).
  7. I still think that when Ultimate Fighter II wraps up next month, Spike will strongly consider giving Impact a trial-run at two hours for a month or so. Thing is, I don't know how TNA will handle the taping schedule since they certainly won't tape 8 hours of TV in one night.
  8. I don't mean to sound like a smartass or anything, but do you actually think they CARE about looking back at past angles for continuity? Basically, Steph is "Daddy's little girl" again.
  9. No kidding. While I was watching that piece I thought "Wow, this guy actually moves pretty damn good" and then they showed him doing a damn tope and I was blown away.
  10. Oh man, that was a GREAT kick Cummo delivered at the end of that fight. He just shoved his foot right into his face.
  11. All right, who the FUCK thought starting the show with a Stephanie promo (and why the hell are so many attractive brunettes going blonde these days? First Jessica Alba, now her) and then ending the show with LINDA FUCKING MCMAHON turning heel was a good idea? And Stephanie must be a heavy smoker or something, because I watched the '01 RR last night and her voice sounded so much better back then. Thank god for UFC Unleashed and the baseball game.

Man, if Ben is out, the AFC is WIDE open now. And no, I'm still not completely buying the Colts yet.

Oh surprises of surprises, Mariano Vinatieri comes through again. They can't do this every week, though; this defense needs to shape up. Still, considering their schedule, even if they lose to Denver next week going 3-3 isn't bad.

This Patriots secondary can't do ANYTHING without Harrison, it seems.

    NFL Week 5

I think the rule is that if the referees call a guy out of bounds and blow the whistle, the play is dead and unchallengeable. That's only a challenge if the coach believes the runner steps out but the referees don't call it. Can the Patriots stop ANYONE on 3rd down?

    NFL Week 5

Because of how pathetic the Texans line is, Carr never has time to do anything. 52-3 Green Bay. Might want to save some of those points, guys.
  17. Well, no one watched last year's so....

    NFL Week 5

Holy fuck, Brady put some air under that pass. he's 15/17, 295 and 3 TDs.
  19. As long as we get a quality match like the three-way every week, I'm watching. I agree a bit with CC that Abyss looks like a bigger Mankind, with a little Kane mixed in, though he moves well in the ring and the fans are definitely behind him. The main event scene, on the other hand, sucks. I think TNA should use this first month of shows just as an exhibition to newer fans, showing them what they're all about. After BFG, then they can slow down and start building angles since they will have built a regular audience by then. I know TNA isn't topping WWE anytime soon, but they are definitely the breath of fresh air I needed. EDIT: Question -- What were the fans singing during the Team Canada match? It sounded like the Canadian anthem a bit, but in a mocking fashion.
  20. Joe, stop trying to sound like you know what you're talking about.
  21. Well that was a pretty lazy play by A-Rod which forced Cano to take his foot off the bag right before he got the ball. He's gotta make a decision there.
  22. They were all solo shots. That's pretty much the reason. This was just a continuation of the absolutely pathetic September guys like Varitek, Mueller, Rentaria et al had. Top that with there being absolutely nobody to count on in the bullpen outside of Papelbon, and you have a team ripe to be swept. That part is on Theo Epstein for signing a bunch of "reclamation projects" and having each and every one of them blow up in his face. You are going to see a vastly different Red Sox team in 2006. No Damon (You'd be a moron to sign him for 5 years), no Millar (and good riddance), a completely revamped bullpen and probably a few new starters. It's funny, they won last year on pitching and defense, which is what you need, but this year's team was like all the other teams that couldn't get it done: built on mashing the ball to cover up a weak bullpen and shaky rotation. I gladly would have taken Cabrera over Rentaria if THIS is what I have to look forward to the next three years.
  23. Papelbon is doing his job, but now it's up to the bottom of the order, which has done nothing for most of September and this series. I want Papelbon in the rotation next year, but he'll probably have to stay in the bullpen if they can't improve it by other means.
  24. Explain to me again why Rentaria is still in the two spot? I mean, the guy completely shuts it down in the late innings and rarely sets the table for Ortiz and Manny. Duque had his Metamucil and Centrum Silver this morning, it seems.
  25. Unbelievable. Not a damned run. Good pitching always beats good hitting in the playoffs.
