Yes. I liked that quirk in Bravesfan's contest. Chicago to start, rest tomorrow or Friday.
-
The Twins might be getting a little greedy here.

We finally have an actual dumbass Boston fan on these boards. Pick on him and leave the rest of us alone.

Where is this news about the Santana deal being official coming from? EDIT: Aha! Guess all that's left is i dotting and t crossing.
-
Apparently the Santana deal is down to two versions: V1: Ellisbury, Masterson and Lowrie for Santana V2: Crisp, Lester, Masterson and Lowrie for Santana I'd do backflips across the lawn if it ends up being the second version.
-
Sooo, the entire AFC North is 6-6 now? Gotta step it up now since it's all up for grabs.
-
Belichick is apparently going to be on in the next half hour or so. That should be fun. Anyone that wants to listen just go to WEEI.com and click on "Listen Live". And ignore the meathead hosts. EDIT: Nevermind, he's on right now.

If Billick or whoever doesn't call The Worst Timeout In Recorded History, the last four minutes would never have happened. The refs *really* need to have some concrete guidelines to call these 5-yard defensive holding penalties though; maybe they should actually say what happened to cause the penalty in the announcement to the crowd (like "Holding, 23, defense, grabbing the receiver's shoulder past five yards").

Another note: Now I know why the MNF crew gets so much grief. Holy shit was that just unlistenable at times. Especially Kornheiser's flip-flop: Ravens take the lead in the first quarter = "You know, maybe this is the night New England loses." New England cuts the lead to 4 in the 4th = "You know, it's almost inevitable that New England wins this." Pittsburgh must be salivating facing this team after a Monday night game. Should be a glorious game.

Only one thing to say: Dumbest motherfucker on the planet.
-
Right, because the key to stopping New England is stopping Laurence Maroney. And NE is two spots behind them with 86.2 YPG. And the Ravens give up 7 yards per pass attempt. Your turn.
-
I see three things that go against the Ravens here: 1) The obvious: Their passing offense sucks. To the tune of a 5.69 YPA (last in the AFC). And for some reason, the coaching staff STILL wants to throw for most of the game; their 416 pass attempts are second to Cleveland in the conference compared to just 274 rushes (last in the conference). That's not balanced playcalling. 2) It doesn't matter who is behind the center because chances are the Ravens o-line won't be able to protect them anyway (27 sacks surrendered). New England is second behind Pittsburgh with 31 sacks. 3) For all the names they have, according to the stats, Baltimore's pass defense is mediocre at best this year. 10th in YPG, 9th in TDs surrendered, 11th in INTs, 10th in sacks. Prediction: 30-3 Pats. EDIT: So Brady is going to finish with 70 TD passes and like 5500 yards? Because that's going to happen if the Jets, Dolphins and Giants take that strategy. The Steelers are the only team that could blitz and still be able to defend passes downfield. The Jets and Miami are 14-15 in YPA (7.67 and 7.84 respectively). It wasn't Philly's defense keeping NE at bay that gave them a shot; it was more AJ Feeley and Westbrook sustaining long drives and keeping the NE offense off the field.

I didn't see it (work) but that Celtics/Cavs game sounded like it was bowling shoe ugly* as Boston won 80-70. They seem to be winning every kind of game lately. *© Jim Ross

And BC's on their way to yet another Who-Gives-A-Fuck Bowl. Why does Jacksonville keep getting big events/championship games?
-
Ok, I'm getting a headache. It's Buchholz. EDIT: Might as well bring something to the discussion. I am flexible in including Buchholz in the deal. I really don't want to, but I will understand if he goes. I will NOT like it if Ellisbury goes as well. After watching him since his call-up, I'm salivating to see what he can do in a full season. Also, any trade with Santana has to include some sort of extension soon after as it is moronic to send off all this potential for one year of service.

If he still reads the board, I think Dames should sit down for this. http://www.usmagazine.com/jennifer_love_hewitt_engaged

"He just got baptized at the 18"? WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?
-
And the Knicks get a half-court three at the buzzer to avoid scoring the fewest points in their history.
-
I know. I'm just being an ass. But you know someone in the NYC papers is going to say something like "Belichick's taught Doc Rivers a few things" tomorrow. EDIT: Those darker green unis are the Celtics' "alternate" home jerseys. Shamrock Green or something like that.
-
It's like Kermit the Frog is calling the game. He just doesn't have an appealing voice for PBP.
-
Why? Afraid he'll infect the rest of the team or something?
-
Boston's doubled the Knicks total after 3 at 82-41. Doc better not run up the score here.

But would they still be Super Bowl contenders, or would they be just another team in "The Blob" (as Czech calls it)? The voting will be close due to the media fixation with both guys (but I forget, do the writers vote for MVP or it is another body?), but if Brady breaks the TD, QB rating, and pass comp % records in the same year for an undefeated or 15-win team, how the hell can he NOT be worthy of the vote?
-
Half the AFC is near .500 and still in the Wild Card hunt.

Gillette had the same problem. It's just that fall weather in the Northeast plays hell on natural grass fields. My old high school had to tear theirs up and put turf down. Eventually every stadium in the NFL will have it because it's a good surface to play on. POINTS!!!
