Gold Glove awards are overrated. Guys can win them based solely on past reputation. That's not to say winners don't deserve them, but after you win a few, you seem to win more based on rep moreso than actual play. Question for Al - do you think Abreu deserved a Gold Glove last year (he did win it, right?). He's got a very good arm, but I wouldn't call him anything other than an average fielder.

Hey, a couple of my buddies make it into 1 of the game clips over at mlb.com. Click here. Then go to "other Phillies games", select the 5/5/06 Phillies/Giants game, then the clip for Vizquel's HR. Check out the row behind the guy who ends up catching the ball. The guy in the red hat w/ the glove who turns to his right with an "aw, man!" reaction is my buddy who has a partial season ticket plan. My other buddy is in the Phillies shirt behind the dude in black. That's where I sit when I go down w/ my buddy. Prime HR territory.

I'm giving very serious consideration to attending that game, seeing how I do not have work or school, and tickets will be much less expensive than usual for those seats. It's a good opportunity really, especially if you have never been to the park. A couple buddies & I went out to see the BlueClaws at their park last year (or possibly the year before, I forget). Unbeknownst to us, it was Jerry Lawler Night at the game. We were eating our food behind the seats along the 1st base side during the 1st inning, and I looked behind me as Lawler (in full King garb) & someone else (prob. a BlueClaws employee) were walking towards the autograph signing area.

We had "wall ball", too, only we called it "BUTT ball" in a fit of creative genius. Although, we didn't use that pussy "after 3 times" rule. Each time a person didn't touch up the wall before the ball got there meant he had to take a free shot (only 1 person took a shot, though, usually the person who threw the ball that beat the touch-up).
