And the winner of the Edge sweepstakes is....

I'm with Suplex. Does the average non-WCW-watching WWE fan know or care who Sting is? Besides that, it's just another old guy at the top of the card who won't work house shows (or very little) while making big bucks.

Possible reasoning: pretty much everyone knows Goldy is on his way out. MSG is usually a pretty smarky crowd, so to prevent Brock from getting a huge face reaction (which might gather steam, forcing a face turn when they really don't need him to be a face), they come up with this company-wide work. The dirt sheets report it, which they hope turns the smarks against him ("he's a baby", "he's selling out", "good riddance"). Mainstream press picks up on it, hopefully turning the marks against him. Meanwhile, Brock can lay low, heal up any nagging injuries, and freshen up, plus the WWE can delay using up his potential feuds prematurely. He shows up later this year, while the fanbase (marks & smarks) takes a collective shit. If they plan on doing a live Smackdown sometime this year, then you know something's up. Of course, the above scenario has almost no basis in fact, but it's be pretty cool if they could pull it off.

Show isn't exactly the most nimble guy. Shoot for the knees (already weak), dodge the punches, and take Show off his feet. Shouldn't be too hard for an Angle or a Lesnar.

Dropped pass after pass? Nope. He came up huge in the Fiesta Bowl vs. Ohio State, and made a huge 4th down catch (not an easy catch, either) last year to keep a game winning drive alive against W. Virginia. He had a down year last year, mainly because Brock Berlin was wildly inconsistent, as well as didn't look to Kellen as much as Dorsey did. Kellen greatly improved his blocking, as well. He, along w/ Ben Troupe, are the 2 best TE's in the draft. Had Dorsey been there 1 more year, Kellen would have had a huge year.

You could watch The Sopranos on Sundays instead of the PPVs. That's probably what I'll do this Sunday, unless there's a decent match on at the same time. He means there's no other viable (read: "free") wrestling product for him to watch. And even if he was willing to pay for TNA, if he doesn't like a lot of the WWE product, chances are he won't be ecstatic about TNA.

Smackdown (*Spoilers*) for 03/11/04
Spaceman Spiff replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in The WWE Folder
Certainly sounds better than Raw. I like the idea of Heyman rallying the lockerroom around the idea of "our Smackdown", although having everyone refuse to stand up to Austin shoots it all down. They should really play up the brand loyalty more, besides just having HHH throw out barbs towards SD every few months. -
HOLY CRAP! ORLANDO JORDAN LOSES TO A BUY-OUT GUY FOR THE FIRST TIME! His reign of terror has been ended. All hail, Chuck Palumbo.

Fantastic match, with some cool spots (dropkick by Knoble while London was skinning the cat, Knoble's reveral of the Northern Lights suplex/pin directly into the match-ending submission). The commercial break ruined some of the flow, but otherwise a very good match.

I demand that "Randy O-Tron, evil cyborg wrestler" be involved in this storyline.

Other than the complaints, what political moves has he pulled? Other than being a "star", he really doesn't have much political pull, IMO. And it's not just a program w/ Taker. Taker would come out the winner in the feud, but there's really no reason why they should be feeding Brock to Taker without it being part of some bigger plans for Brock.

Lesnar *is* over. And considering he's been there for 2 years, he's paid his dues. Who, exactly, would you stick into his spot? Keep in mind it has to be a heel, so that rules out RVD.
-
He has been asked to carry SD for the last 2 years, first as the #1 heel, then #1 face, then back to #1 heel. The 2 other "big names" on the show (Angle & Taker) have both had some pretty extended breaks (due to injuries, but still time off).

"Baba O'Riley"

Oh, I don't doubt they're real. I just think "whaaaaaaaat?" when I see the names.
-
Flashbacks? I hope not. About Kotz's possible Hayden picture - he's gotta be bald. "More machine now than man" with a full head of hair would seem odd. Plus, he wears a helmet practically 24-7. If I did that, I'd shave my head bald.

Y'know, whenever I see you post the name of an obscure band, I can't help but think to myself that you're just making the band & song names up.
