Can someone explain this one a little more? I'm not very knowledgeable on NBA history. The conspiracy theory was that the NBA wanted a big time star player (Ewing) on the Knicks (big market team, playing in NY, ton of publicity for the league), so the league rigged the draft (either by creasing the card, or freezing the card, so that the guy picking would know which card to pull out) so that the Knicks would get the 1st pick.

Boring promo? The response Kennedy got last week and tonight and the fact that he was able to cut that promo and have EVERYONE in the arena just hate him was amazing. He had the crowd in the palm of his hand the entire time and for the first time ever, Ken Kennedy showed me "IT". He was successful in turning the crowd, but that was probably the worst Kennedy promo ever. And even the crowd turn was lame. "I hate you guys, too"? Wow, that was some great heel work right there.

Wow, that was a pretty boring promo.

Remember when they started 3-10 and and there were about a half dozen posters on the board who said they were done already? That was fun. I stand by my assessment. Sure, they're doing good now, but that's been the Phillies MO over the last few seasons - start off slow, make a push, fall back again, then make a push at the end that comes up short. Bullpen is still shaky, they could be down a starter in Garcia, and the bats will invariably go through a stretch where nobody can hit. I'd love for them to make the playoffs, but I'm not running out & making any bets based off their performance over the last 1.5 weeks.

I don't think it was a backtrack. I think it was just Vince & the stuntman changing places, with the stuntman's foot coming down to "show" that Vince was really in there.
