Connections between Bush and Swift Vets
Rob E Dangerously replied to jesse_ewiak's topic in Current Events
Wow, you really don't have anything, do you? -=Mike Nope, just 'coincidences'. And Ken Cordier (who was in the second SBV ad) was dismissed by the Bush campaign. I'd imagine calls to donate to 527s are all over Democratic party websites. And they're working with "Rock the Vote" too. You have a pretty broad definition of "smear" I guess it's time for a news flash: The NATIONAL GOP and the Collier County GOP are not quite the same thing, hate to burst your bubble. The national party has no association with them. I hope you limber up a bit before you make these stretches. -=Mike (on further checking, the call to donate was removed) but of course the National GOP and the Collier GOP aren't associated. The Collier GOP must be a rogue GOP, with links to Bush's site and various other GOP sites. Uh huh.. hehe -
Yep. Care to mention any specific quotes mentioning Horton by name? So.. you do have proof that he mentioned Horton, right? And using the Mike Math. Furlough Program = Willie Horton. And for reference, the ad is here http://livingroomcandidate.movingimage.us/index.php and the controversy with some is more in what's implied, not what's said. But then again, with 16 years to really think about it, it's pretty obvious that the furlough program was a pretty bad idea. At least in the case of first degree murderers. I wouldn't exactly say idiot, loud is a good word for Matthews. He's not exactly adored by the left either. I've heard all sorts of things with that. *shrug* I don't care too much either way. There's nothing to suggest a meltdown. But maybe i'm being biased by waiting for more than a few days to declare a 'meltdown'

Just a short bit on the second ad The testimony in the second ad will be in bold, the order in which the statement appeared in the commercial is in {}s Not just out of context, but out of order. Hmm.. captivating. And here's this internet-only (for now) ad: http://www.johnkerry.com/video/082104_old_tricks.html Those five Senators were Cleland, Kerry, Kerrey, Hagel and Lugar. "The man was not speaking for me. If you want to know my opinion about you, John, you served our country admirably and strongly, and I am proud of your record just like you are." - George W. Bush on Ted Sampley, who wasn't speaking for Bush, at a Bush event. "You paid for an event and stood next to a person. And when you were asked if you would repudiate him, you said, "no."" - McCain in response Strangely enough, the Bush defense to that was to counter the claims that he said no.. oh.. wait the defense was "McCain did this" "I'm going to see about what I'm putting on TV. And what I put on TV was looking in that camera and saying, "you can disagree with me on issues, John, but do not question... do not question my trustworthiness, and do not compare me to Bill Clinton."" http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/politics/ja...ebate_2-16.html Note: Sampley's now behind the "Vietnam Veterans against John Kerry" -
Other swift boat commander speaks up

Hmm.. i'm sure it's part of the Kerry master plan. Yes, everybody just tries to smear the Swift Boat Vets, usually by noting that the Official Navy Documents don't favor their stories, and by bringing up various people who were around Kerry. I assume you're endorsing coming right out to report something without checking into the story deeper. (Of course, it was evil smearing when the NY Times and the Washington Post did it) So, because they're 60 people and they signed something, they're more credible than the official military records? Got any backup on that "never served a moment in Vietnam" claim? Kerry did end up leaving the group due to him feeling it was getting too radical. Just for PSA purposes. Those wouldn't be the atrocities that he had heard of (as mentioned in his Senate testimony). hmm.. all 250? via the Washington Post (of the Evil): But.. of course.. you've taken "Swift Boat Veteran" to automatically mean 'Served with Kerry', as opposed to 'Served on a swift boat' Almost everybody who was on the same boat as he was. Oh wait, those people don't know anything. -
And then the entire thing went downhill. *shrug* it happens. http://slate.msn.com/id/1003919/ Hmm.. but.. Al Gore brought up Willie Horton.. right? Then again, the entire thing appeared to unhinge Matthews anyways. yeah, a serious campaign, where a group emerges to start questioning what you did 35 years ago.. that Kerry/Weld campaign was nothing. John Kerry is unfortunately ending up like the Fonz and losing his cool. Ehhhhh.

is EXTREMELY illegal under campaign finance law. They cannot endorse or oppose a specific candidate, if memory serves. Hmm.. I found some more stuff on that America Coming Together is a Political Action Committee Moveon.org is a Political Action Committee The Swift Boat Veterans are just a 527. (the source for all the quoted text and the ACT/Moveon/SBV info is here) -
It could be overheating. Although, I lack the expertise to comment further

The whole thing is sorta futile to get into. Theories and all that will sell a lot of books for people, like the JFK assassination. There's a thin line with all this. http://madcowprod.com/books.html The top book (Welcome to Terrorland) teeters with the claims of CIA links to flight schools. Although the stuff about Mohammad Atta liking pork chops and having a stripper girlfriend is explainable. Read up on the Takfiris http://www.rotten.com/library/history/terr...kfir-wal-hijra/ basically they disregard Islamic law to blend in and execute their missions that accounts for Atta's Beastie Boy fandom, the strip clubs and all that. So yeah, there's a thin line between 'rational' and 'crazy'. Considering the 'poisoning of the well' (intentional and unintentional). (The Rotten.com library isn't too bad.)

I thought Tyler removed the links after being told to. As for Kerry/Nixon.. is it Nixon 60, Nixon 68 or Nixon 72? from playing "President Elect" ( http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=839 ), I'll say that Nixon 72 is pretty much unbeatable. The game sounds interesting though. I have a copy of the Doonesbury game, but I don't think the CD works anymore. In fact, I have no clue where the CD is right now, I think it's in a box somewhere

JTTS, quit smearing the vets by bringing up what some of them said during the war and even during the 1996 Senatorial campaign. -

It's called a joke. Anyways, the desired come back was "Those pictures are out of context" Strange how Malkin "misheard" Keith Olbermann. "made a fool out of".. "idiot".. they sound alike too. Did you read the unnamed book? (I don't have any intention of buying either Malkin's book or "Unfit for Command". And it's not like i'm on a book review thread for either one) {one more note on Unfit, in theory, I could go to a bookstore, read it there, take notes and all that, that might take some time. Also, since there's no known sanction for downloading it for free, like with F9/11, that's not a recommended route} Hmm.. a quick check of the transcript shows us that she mentioned a SBVT claim (the sharpnel). WILLIE BROWN [Former mayor of San Francisco]: He volunteered twice. He volunteered twice in Vietnam. He literally got shot. There's no question about any of those things. So what else is there to discuss? How much he got shot, how deep, how much shrapnel? MALKIN: Well, yes. Why don't people ask him more specific questions about the shrapnel in his leg. They are legitimate questions about whether or not it was a self-inflicted wound. *checks transcript* first person to mention a SBVT claim: Malkin first person to mention the SBVT book: Malkin Damn Chris Matthews Hmm.. yeah.. I hate the cherry picked 1.3MB Kerry file on his awards that doesn't want to load for me ( http://www.johnkerry.com/pdf/jkmilservice/...ryrecords_1.pdf ) and I hate the 49 other cherrypicked documents

#1- I'm trying to get the quotation things to work #2- I didn't take those pics, I did watch the replay though

Edit: to hell with Quotations! Next! I'll let you continue grasping for straws To be fair, the dislike for Chris Matthews is bipartisan. I think they use the best technology to remove the white foam which is coming out of Matthews' mouth Malkin handled it BEAUTIFULLY. [don't worry, I find her cute too] She did not call anybody an idiot (as Keith Olbermann, who is an embarassment as a news reader,id) from MichelleMalkin.com: Update: Keith Olbermann said I had made a "fool of myself," not that I was an "idiot." I stand corrected and apologize for mistakenly characterizing his insult. She WASN'T there to discuss this. She was there to discuss her book --- as Chris mentioned, but didn't come back to. Mentioned once, for a split second, if I recall correctly. Right now, wouldn't it just be her word against whoever else when it comes to the reason why she was on the show? Well, there is: Joining me is San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, and Michelle Malkin. Malkin is that the correct pronunciation? MICHELLE MALKIN, SYNDICATED COLUMNIST: Malkin. MATTHEWS: Malkin, I like it better. She‘s the author of in “Defense of Interment: The Case for Racial Profiling.” We‘ll get to that in a minute, that sounds hot enough. He did mention it before anything else. Obviously, she wasn't there to discuss the Swift Boat Vets or the Bush campaign. And it appears the thing was derailed after the self-inflicted claim was made. *shrug* I'm sure we missed out on Malkin talking about how internment camps weren't so bad, with the former Mayor of San Francisco around. Yeah, him leaving her no time is proof that she was not there to discuss her book. Simple question: WHY WOULD SHE BE THERE? Do you have any idea how many times she commented on this controversy on her website? Any idea? ONCE. One time only. Try and use a little logic here. Well, then again, the self-inflicted thing did eat up some time. I also congratulate her on commenting once on something that happened about 28 hours ago. *claps* She didn't say his injuries were intentional. Just self-inflicted. And then she defended that by asking why Chris Matthews didn't ask that, while not making a distinction between the two. If he READ the book, he'd know the difference. But he didn't read it. He just bitched about it anyway. For a segment which would be about Malkin's book, it seems that Matthews not reading the O'Neill/Corsi book is a point of contention. According to EVERYBODY there, INCLUDING his C.O, there WASN'T enemy fire at all. Kerry was injured when he fired a grenade that hit a rock and piece of shrapnel BARELY hit him. Hmmmm.. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/presid..._on_their_side/ Yeah.. a grenade.. that's the ticket.. it was a grenade. Then why was there no hostile fire report filed? And Schachte was only the PERSON IN COMMAND OF THE MISSION. Yeah, I'm sure HE'S making it up. Strange how he wasn't on the skimmer either. Hell, Runyon didn't even know Kerry was wounded. Grant Hibbard, the CO, disputed the story. He went to Hibbard's office the next day and asked for a recommendation for a Purple Heart. He REFUSED. He doesn't know how Kerry got the Heart at all. Must have been the "Kerry-Hypnosis" which makes the Navy give medals to him, as part of the master plan.

Rock the Vote claims to be non-partisan. Care to guess where their money came from? Hmm.. did I miss the ads where Rock the Vote bashed a specific candidate? I probably did. {removed for now, JTTS covered it} I'm sure it's somewhere By smear the messenger, you mean "cite military records which contradict what is claimed", right? Now, if smearing was the game, there'd be more personal attacks on the specific guys. Instead of citing records and all that. And we can assume that the SBVT are really the guys who have room to complain about smearing. Presumably there's actual evidence instead of assumptions. Umm, ALL of them? Can you name a Hollywood-run 527? hint.. a "get out the vote" effort run by a music network doesn't count as "Hollywood-run". Unless you believe MTV movies runs Rock the Vote or something like that/ Funny --- they have his COMMANDING OFFICER on their side. Yeah, and he was so outraged by John Kerry that he campaigned FOR him. http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/9455159.htm Oh yeah.. citing what the Swift Vets said 8 years ago is smearing them. Elliot didn't have a problem with Kerry's record then. Must have been hypnosis. Damn the smearing. Can't they be fair like the Swift Boat Vets*! *Swift Boat Vets may not have served on the same boat as John Kerry WHOA! Somebody who donated to left wing groups ALSO donated to Kerry? GET THE FUCK OUTTA TOWN! Let me guess -- unlike in THIS case, there was no co-ordination, right? Yeah, Soros really coordinated in that donation of $2,000 dollars. He coordinated the handing over of it on his private Island. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5772722/ Hmm.. you don't seem to grasp the concept of coordination. Maybe it's just me. Well, right now, there's no evidence of Bush having a direct link. We'll see if anything else comes up. Knowing the FEC's swift investigations, we'll know the truth by 2008. Go ahead, tell me how it's illegal. Feel free. Of course, if you want to dig into some things, the funding of Air America radio is quite fascinating, no? Hmm.. Is Air America a 527? As for coordination. We'll have to see if having the SBVT, the county Republican party, the local Bush/Cheney campaign committee and Republican candidates together for a Pro America rally is illegal. This is called a meltdown. When he loses, feel free to point to this idiotic decision as the reason. Hmm.. yeah. Still seems like there's a preoccupation with anger. He simply needs to fill out an SF-180 to have the Navy release EVERYTHING. Without that --- he's likely picking and choosing. I counted 50 different documents. So, anything specifically missing from these documents? -
http://www.oregonlive.com/news/oregonian/i...00303292321.xml Hmm.. a guy who didn't know John Kerry well, relying on the word of his friends since he didn't witness the incident, would like you to know that John Kerry is lying. Convincing. It was unfortunate that Malkin encountered the rabid Chris Matthews. Malkin reacted in a mature way.. by posting Matthews phone number. Mentioned once, for a split second, if I recall correctly. Right now, wouldn't it just be her word against whoever else when it comes to the reason why she was on the show? The segment ended with 10 minutes left in the show. So if they were planning to talk about her book, they didn't have too much time. and then she defended that by asking why Chris Matthews didn't ask that, while not making a distinction between the two. Hmmmm.. http://www.boston.com/news/politics/presid..._on_their_side/ Yeah.. a grenade.. that's the ticket.. it was a grenade.

Yeah, it doesn't mean anything that the Swiftboat Veterans for the Truth, a group which claims to be non-partisan, recieves most of their money from people who also donate to Republicans. Care to bring up a Hollywood-run 527 which is claiming to be non-partisan? And only one of the people who actually served on the same boat as John Kerry is with the Swift Boat Veterans group. http://www.opensecrets.org/indivs/search.a...hou=0&txt2004=Y Hmm.. SideFX came about $19,998,000 short of that Kerry claim. Any comment on the SBVT/Republican Super-party in Gainesville? That seems a bit.. coordinated. Which, last I heard, is illegal. As for the Bush defense, today the defense is "Kerry's becoming angry". Hopefully he doesn't become angry like John McCain supposedly was in 2000. ;) These records? http://www.johnkerry.com/about/john_kerry/...ry_records.html Hmm.. anything else you want? -

Coincidences continue Hmm.. the Alachua Bush/Cheney committee, the Alachua County Republicans, the SBVT I bet the defense for this will be "The Democrats do it toooooooo!" Hmm.. I'm checking though the CFR and here's some more on the IRS 527 code http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/0,,id=103480,00.html
