  1. To be more precise: They are reprinting all seven issues of the mini with all of them having new covers and subtitling them as "Identity Crisis: Final Printing".
  2. Marvel Knights Spiderman is somewhat readable, only because Mark Millar is alleged to have submitted a good portion of the scripts for his twelve issue run to to people running "Spiderfan.org" (one of the largest and most respected Spiderman fansites on the web) to correct any errors they might have seen in his scripts with Millar actually correcting his scritps according to their comments the people from Spiderfan.org made on them....
  3. Given the fuss that Doug Last Name I Can't Spell But Starts With M is making over that baseball, I wouldn't be suprised if hes' the one who is going to be kicked to the curb and Millar kept instead....
  4. The reason why Miracleman is considered to be such a "holy grail" is that it's one of Alan Moore's earliest works and one that in the last decade has gain a reputation as being the prototype for the "widescreen violence" movement that swept comics via Authority. That and Miracleman #15, which is hands down considered to be one of the most violent and disturbing fight stories ever published.
  5. Carnage is still Cleatus Kassady, though he's on his second symbiote as Howard Mackie had Venom eat Cleatus's symbiote/costume, which led to Cleatus (after going around naked and painted red) to go into the Negative Zone with Spidey. where he found a new symbiote/costume that was outright identical to his old symbiote/costume...
  6. Spoilers have leaked out for New Avengers #2; Bendis strikes again and ruins/kills off a perfectly decent character for no good reason: Carnage gets the crap beaten out of him by Luke Cage, who is cornered by Carnage but who basically laughs at Carnage after every attempt by Carnage to hurt Cage fails miserably. And in the end, Carnage gets killed off by Sentry in a scene designed simply to show that Sentry is super-strong......

    REBIRTH

The ending to GLC wasn't so much a send-off as the editors chucking the entire "Let's turn Green Lantern into a team-up book for no other reason than because New Teen Titans/LSH are our top sellers" status quo out the window and return the GL franchise to there only being a couple of Green Lanterns on Earth instead of a huge legion of them..... That being said, the only big problem with said finale was the shitty way they killed off Sinestro, who is the only decent villain in the entire Green Lantern rogue gallary.....

    REBIRTH

On the V, a lot of people have been making comparisions to the whole Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix retcon. In this case, Hal is losing all of the personality growth he developed from being evil in the same way Jean lost any chance to be taken seriously as a powerful icon without having the Phoenix crap added on to make her be taken seriously as a hero. That being said, they should have just gone all out and say Parallex was a fake or even better (if they want to tie into the upcoming "Crisis '05" crossover), say that Hal switched places with a temporal doppleganger from Hypertime that was the alternate universe Hal that went insane and became the Spectre. Totally wrong Sass. Green Lantern Corp got cancelled do to internal politics; IE the powers that be wanted one of the Big Guns heroes to headline Action Comics when it went into the highly controversial weekly format alongside Superman and Hal ended up getting picked to do so. GLC (which still sold well, especially compared to other DC team books at the time, which were doing horrible in terms of sales) got shitcanned so Hal could go to Action Comics. As for the fall from grace of the Kyle Raynor run, it happened much earlier when John Byrne stole Donna Troy from the book and Marz inserted Jade as Kyle's love interest. Jade was a piss-poor substitute and the book never recovered from it.....

    REBIRTH

Geoff has stated that even though DC is going through all of this trouble to bring Hal back as GL and absolve him of murder, that editorial has stated that Hal Jordan is completely off-limits to any and all future JLA writers do to John "I need to be killed off ASAP" Stewart being the Green Lantern in the cartoon.
  10. Orbach was filming episodes inbetween treatments, so they'll probably have several episodes worth of material involving him to air before they have to decide how to handle Orbach's death. And they have a great deal of lead-time to figure out what to do next since NBC has moved the show's debut back do to his illness delaying shooting. That being said, with the new show I would not be suprised if two things happen: Carry Lowell (who was set to do a multi-episode run on the new L&O show) ends up getting brought back full-time for the new show and/or two (and this is a real longshot) Dick Wolfe breaks down and basically brings Chris Noth back since the whole selling point for the new L&O series was Jerry Orbach and God knows Mike Logan is up there in terms of being one if not THE the show's top popular characters, behind Lenny and McCoy. Of course the real question will be how they write Lenny out of the franchise; I would not be suprised if Wolfe decided to cold-bloodly exploit JO's death as a ratings stunt where his character is killed off and used to justify a massive four-show crossover event....
  11. You are thinking of "The Draco" which basically revealed that Nightcrawler's daddy was an External who fancies himself to be the inspiration for the devil in all modern Christian faiths (Mystique being Nightcrawler's mom has been cannon since 1994). Oh and he also gave Nighcrawler about three new siblings including AOA villain/mainstream Marvel Universe weaakling Abyss. It's generally considered to be one of the worst X-Men stories of all time though it does have really good art from Philip Tan/Sean Phillips, mainly because of Austen using the story to bash all religions as stupid and his oft mention daddy issues by making Nightcrawler's dad be "Satan". Not to mention Austen using Havok to tell fans who hate what he's done to Havok and Polaris that he wishes he could urinate on each and every one of us.....

    Bone

I'm torn on this; this is good for someone who's never read the series since they can read the entire series for the price of about three of the individual TPBs but on the other hand, Bone did a MASSIVE and COMPLETE shark-jump around the time of the Dragonslayer storyline; so much so that the quality of the series went straight into the shitter and never recovered, especially in light of how Smith totally and utterly failed to pay-off the story's main mystery plots regarding the various metaplots of the series..... I'd stick to just owning the first three TPBs....
  13. Killing the Giffen JLA was impossible do to the fact that they were still popular at the time and the Big Guns were still all tied up and unaccessible do to editorial problems at the time. If anything, having Doomsday hospitalize the Giffen JLA was a godsend since it kept Jurgens (who work on JLA in the early 90s can be compared to any team book Chuck Austen has written in the last couple of years) from further devaluing the Giffen JLA in the same way Austen FUBARed the Avengers and the X-Men for the remainder of his run....
  14. 1) Has Northstar been removed from the team or killed? Yes and no. He got pulled from the active roster when they did X-Men Reloaded but is still at the school as a teacher. He showed up in the final Chuck Austen arc where he was shown kicking Sabretooth's ass. 2) Is Angel blue again? No. 3) Is Nightcrawler back to being religious again? No, Marvel's realized how shitty Kurt is when he's all religious and now they have him going back and forth between hitting on Rachal Summers and Storm. 4) Is Mystique not in a "portal of Abyss"... Nope. She's currently working for the X-Men as a reluctant secret agent. 5) Has Stacy X been given a new name OR a nice costume since 400? Stacy left the team in Uncanny X-Men #421, having realized how everyone hates her. She recorded a goodbye/fuck you video letter for Angel where she was buck naked and jumping rope just to show Angel what he would be missing when she left. 6) Did Polaris go away? Still around, but no longer batshit crazy. 7) Did Havok go away? Did "Nurse Annie" finally leave? Havok is still team leader, Nurse Annie left with her hellspawn in the final Chuck Austen issue with it heavily hinted that Cassandra Nova went with them to ensure they die horribly 9) Did they take the awful blue/gold colors off of Juggernaut? They got rid of the yellow but when he was still wearing the blue when Austen unceromoniously sent Juggernaut into Xorn II's black-hole head... 10) Did Chuck Austen finally admit his work sucked and "The Draco" and his other worthless storylines were shit? Not really, as he never owned up to his fuck-ups and basically was screaming "Editorial Interference" (mainly to avoid being hated with a passion by the crazed Gambit fangirls when he decided to blind Gambit) when he was removed from the book. According to rumor floating around the Comicboards.com X-Men boards, what ultimately broke the camel's back was Austen demanding he be allowed to use Magneto in adjectiveless X-Men in a storyline where it would be revealed that Magneto was once Nurse Annie's lover and that Carter the hellspawn was Magneto's kid; with the added context of Magneto revealing that he's the father of half of all of the evil mutants in the Marvel Universe as part of yet another one of Austen's imfamous "daddy issues being taken out on the readers in story format" stories....
  15. I'd be more charitable and go to the first six instead of the first three. Seasons four, five, and six were pretty realistic even though one could see the hand of stunt manipulation in five and six. That being said, I'd easily argue season four to be the most "real" real world since you had a bunch of regular people who didn't follow the standard reality show cliches and who acted in a really real manner. Which, as it was elegantly stated by one of the cast members when E! did their E! True Hollywood Story special on the Real World, was why they went towards stunt casting and crazy gimmicks with all future seasons. And seasons five and six have their bright spots that redeemed them. Season five was a classic train wreck with regards to early reality tv that shows how stupid a shitload of people can be and season six had the cast working a normal job (IE with kids in an after school program and not some glamor job) and featured a cast that was a good social experiment regarding casting introverts and wild partiers.
  16. I've yet to be sold on Will Forte (who I will admit is the lesser of two sucky SNL cast members when grouped with Meyers). His George W Bush impression is horrific and his characters are just so vanilla in terms of forgettableness. The only skit he's done that I can look back on and remember positively is the Rainbow Connection sketch with Justin Timberlake.
  17. Regarding GTA sequels: There is the online GTA game that keeps getting tossed around as well as the possibility of Rock Star Games doing a UK-themed GTA game (which makes sense even though they did this already as a PS1 expansion pack). That being said New York City, the UK, Tokyo, Russia, and Washington DC are the most obvious locals for future GTA games....
  18. Amy's the one who needs to be kicked to the curb more then Tina. Riggle wouldn't work- his sidekick Rob Huebel would be much better. I don't see Walsh working on Update either. A lot of people for whatever reason just don't find him to be that funny. I don't know if the UCB style would work in a news format. I disagree. Tina has proven this season so far that Jimmy Fallon's suckiness covered up her suckiness. At this point, they should cut their loses with Tina altogether and focus on Amy and finding someone tailor-made to work good with her. And I don't mean Seth Meyers or Will Forte, who are both so generically whitebread that I'm shocked they are still employeed. As for Walsh, he's pretty good when he plays it straight.
  19. Regarding Weekend Update, the best way to revive it would be to kick Tina off the segment and replace her with either Rob Riggle or break down and bring Matt Walsh or one of the other guys from Upright Citizen's Brigade on to work with Amy.
  20. OK: Season Two ------------ Arab Terrorist threaten to nuke Los Angelos but as Jack stops them, he discovers that the Arab Terrorists were being helped by factions in the US Government and the heads of various oil companies, who want to start a war in the Middle East so they can occupy three countries (the names are never mentioned but I would assume they include Iran and Iraq). Meanwhile Palmer gets caught in a coup de'tate when he discovers that the conspiracy involves key members of his cabinet staff. Meanwhile Jack meets up Sherry Palmer, who acted as gobetween between the big oil groups and the terrorists and who was responsible for getting the bomb in the terrorist's hands. The bomb BTW is found (with help from Nina, who gets roped into helping Jack in exchange for a pardon, before escaping) in the desert but George Mason (head of CTU) ends up being the one who flies it into the desert so it can go off without killing anyone save for George. Sherry is doing all of this mainly so she can get revenge on her ex-husband for divorcing her after the events of season one and gets forced at gunpoint to help Jack lure the main oil company executive who came up with the whole plot, into the open so Jack can catch him and arrest him. Palmer gets restored as President and stops the US military from starting a war. However we learn that the oil company executive wasn't the real brains behind the plot; it was the dude who played "Operations" on Le Femme Nikita who along with the Drazens (AKA The Injustice League of Eurotrash) were behind the whole thing. The season ends with Jack being taken to the hospital by his new GF that he meets in the season (Kate Warner, who's sister was in on the plot to detonate the bomb and who sought to use her Arab husband and father as the patsy for her treason), Tony chilling at CTU with his new girlfriend/coworker Michelle, and the evil lesbian assassin and Injustice League of Eurotrash member from season one poisoning Palmer.... Season Three ---------------- Several years pass since season two. Palmer is all better, Jack has returned to the states after spending a year undercover busting a narcoterrorist ring, and Kim is working at CTU/fucking Jack's protege Chase. The evil narco-terrorist boss and Jack come up with a convoluted scheme to blackmail the US Government into letting him escape by threatening to let loose the Ebola-lite Virus on Los Angelos. Jack goes AWOL helping narco terrorist escape, Tony gets shot in the neck, Kim gets held captive by a spy at CTU, and Chase follows them to Mexico and gets captured/tortured. BUT all is not what it seems, as Jack is faking being evil and the mole holding Kim hostage is part of a three man plot to nail the Injustice Gang of Eurotrash once and for all, who are out to buy the Ebola-lite virus. But again, it's all a smokescreen for ANOTHER nonsensical plot twist as a new big bad shows up in the form of Saunders, a British secret agent who was with Jack when they killed the family of the head of the Injustice Gang of Eurotrash. Left for dead, he was tortured for years before escaping and deciding to make America pay for what happened to him He kills the Injustice Gang of Eurotrash's representatives, gets Nina arrested AGAIN and ultimately shot dead by Jack, and detonates the virus in a hotel that kills everyone there (including Jack's double agent/daughter capturing-keeping safe dude), and capturing Michelle. He then uses Michelle and the virus to force Tony to turn traitor and help him evade Jack, who Saunders makes kill annoying boss-dude Ryan Chappelle when Chappelle does what no one else can do and exposes Saunder's organization so Jack can bust them down. This leads to the worse moment (Jack-wise) when Jack bitches Tony out for trying to save his wife instead of committing treason and let a mass murderer walk free, which is what a REAL MAN would do in the eyes of Jack.... Meanwhile Palmer's presidency and love life is ruined by his idiot brother, who ends up getting Sherry Palmer murdered as part of a convoluted and retardation causing plot where Palmer's idiot brother's fucking of the wife of a high ranking corporate doner to David's campaign results in Sherry nagging said dude to death and him lying to the police to protect Sherry, who ends up getting shot by the wife (who commits suicide) while the idiot brother watches and does nothing to stop because he's an idiot. In the end Palmer basically decides to give it up and calls his campaign for a second term off, meaning that the dad from Unhappily Ever After will be the new President. Saunders is ultimately caught but not before ordering an agent of his to detonate the virus at a school. Saudners then dies a bitch's death at the hands of Jack's double agent/daughter capturing-keeping safe dude's wife. Saunder's remaining agent attaches the virus bomb onto Chase's hand and Chase has Jack chop off his hand to stop the bomb (the hand is later said to be reattached BTW). And at the end of the season Jack lets Tony be sent to jail for treason and doesn't lift a single damned finger to save him or to get David Palmer to intervene and save Tony from a minimum of 20 years in jail. And the season ends with Jack in his car crying like a bitch before drying his eyes and going back to CTU to interrogate several members of Saunder's organization.
  21. Not true. Mighty Ducks did extremely well at the box office and spawned TWO sequels.
  22. TB has indeed lost his baslls/been cowed into submission by the Bendis/JQ connection as I've found out first hand with my recent yelling of "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?" at Breevort over at his message board over at ComiX-Fan... http://www.comixfan.com/xfan/forums/showth...7&page=10&pp=15
  23. RE IDC; it could have been worse, IE they fall back on fucking Lex Luthor to be the killer instead of him being a huge red herring. That being said, the main reason the ending is being dumped upon is the anti-continuity brigade is pissy that they had to know about the Atom's backstory in order to get the killer's motivation. And Meltzer is slightly to blame too, for the way that he wrote the book assuming that people would see Jean and automatically recognize her as the evil cunt from hell who fucked another guy while married to Atom and then tormented Atom so badly in the divorce trial that Atom ended up spending years in a subatomic state just to escape the cunt.... As for Crossing; the story was actually pretty good UP UNTIL they introduced teen Tony. It defied logic especially since given everything going on at the time that rather than fucking up the time stream to get a teenage version of Tony Stark that they SHOULD HAVE use the machine to go back in time and rescue fucking Reed Richards and Doctor Fucking Doom from exploding!!!!! This fucked up the story, though the final issue was somewhat redeemable with Kang and Mantis kicking everyone's asses and the sureal image of the Avengers trying to save Mantis's soul through TENTACLE RAPE!!!!!
  24. Bad news for fans of Chappelle Show: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2589 Chappelle's Show - Season 2 delayed Posted by Gord Lacey 12/17/2004 The premiere of Chappelle's Show season 3 has been pushed back on Comedy Central, and the release of season 2 on DVD has been delayed because of it. A new date hasn't been set, but we should hear something when the premiere date for season 3 is locked. Companies often look for ways to get more press for their titles, and releasing the previous season of a series just before the new season provides them with more opportunities to market the DVD release. We often see delays of season sets due to delays of the new season, with 24 Season 3 and Sopranos Season 5 being two recent examples, though the delays of both shows were planned by the networks. Chappelle's Show Season 1 remains the top selling TV-DVD for 2004, and holds the top spot ever according to distributor Paramount Home Entertainment, beating out The Simpsons a few months ago. We'll post news when a new release date is known.
  25. ID Crisis's problem is mainly that it requires you to be a big fan of the JLA circa the 1970s/early 1980s/REALLY HATE Batman to truly GET the series, especially with regards to the big reveal which involves a major but utterly forgettable plot point regarding the Atom in order to work. Spoiler Space for IDC #7: . . .. . .. . .. .. . .. . . .. . . .. . . .. . . . .. .. . . .. .. . . The entire climax is totally and utterly dependant on the reader knowing about the Atom's personal life and the early 80s Sword of Atom series, which had Atom's ex turn evil and dump him for another man.
