I got to say I don't see the problem with that. It's like organic foods are marked in stores, this would be the opposite.

From what I gather, he thinks himself to be a profit of Satan... Anyway, I remember hearing so much hype about Daniels a few years back and when him and Mike Mondo (I think) as the 2 top Indy vets were going to be given a tryout match on Nitro I remember the net was buzzing, and then I saw the match (Daniels with hair looking a little like Chavo Guerrero Jr.) and they blew some spots (I still have a vision of Daniels slipping off the ropes and nearly falling on his head on something or other) and it was thourougly underwhelming. I felt so bad because I knew they were better that was their chance to earn jobs in WCW. Then they were signed for real by WCW when they went through all the awesome cruiser and indy talent for the undercard and of course the company shuts down a couple months later dumping them all back on the indys...

Interesting video posted on WWE.com of Tyson Tomko recieving stitches. You get to watch the whole procedure. What makes it more fun, though is that about half way through you can hear Batista and Snitsky loudly start going through the spots of their match. ("Shit, 'Tist, it'll look like your hitting me in the face, and I'm bumping!", God bless Snitsky.) http://www.wwe.com/shows/raw/raw/ Lower right hand corner under "WWE.com Exclusive".

Now, if only there were a "New York" division in real life.

Ok, so the last few years I've been a regular treadmiller which has been my exercize of choice to keep in decent active shape. But I decided, having access to a full range of equipment at school, that starting strength training would be a good idea too for a number of reasons, even though I had never done it before (probably a little late on the curve). Attempting to go in to the gym myself wasn't so sucessful, mostly because I didn't know the proper way to do anything and the potential for embarassment just made me feel anxious about it. So after talking with some people, a personal trainer to get me started was suggested, I thought it was a good idea since the school provided the service (for a fee). So I put my money down (you had to up front) and signed up and prepared to be contacted within a week. Nothing. So I call the office and leave a message. 2nd week goes by, I go down to the center personally and am told to contact the coach in charge of assigning the trainers. Call him up, he apologizes and says the guy he has me assigned to is a good guy, he doesn't know why he hasn't gotten back to me but he'll let him know to. Ok, great. Well after almost 3 weeks I'm getting suitably annoyed and am prepared to ask for a refund if I don't hear back by the end of the week. Sure enough I recieve a message this afternoon, a girl from the fitness center, ok thank god. As I await some information on who to contact I hear this little female voice say I'll be your trainer and to contact her to work out hours. This is not what I expected. I just thought the way it works is you get assigned someone of the same sex, legistically that would seem to make sense. Not that she probably isn't well qualified, but just from a comfort level I didn't feel good about it. Someone who is already self conscious about looking stupid in front of people is going to learn weight training from a girl? I want to learn how to, home much, how often, that type of thing. Now talking it over with some friends (never mind that they offered to work out with me and help me, which if I would have known, I would have just skipped this stupid process and gone with them, but like I said money is down) they actually thought I shouldn't worry about it, and that the techniques are the same regardless of guy or girl and no one will care. I've waited this long to hear back from someone anyway. So I present to you, the jury of cynical all knowing smart marks (god help me), what would you do? I'm debating whether I should call the coach up and explain my akward feeling (what happened to that guy he was assigning me?) and see if I can get a male trainer , or do you think I should call this girl back and give her a chance? My pride is in your hands.

damn you, Al. I should have known you were too slick to forget him even if he's injured. He was going to be my secret final pick to keep for next year...

The White Sox are like the perpetual treadmill team of baseball. In the ultimate weak division, the AL central, they always seem to expect to have a winning season and usually do but never actually go all the way in their division. And their shuffling out of old stars at the same time as they add new ones just adds to the team's running in place. The lineup does depend on Frank Thomas's health and on Korerko's production I think, it's a decent lineup with some balance and a lot fo speed. The pitching staff is really hit or miss. If everyone pitches to their capabilities it could be really good, if not, it will be bad. Kind of like Estaban Loaiza who they replaced...see it's just a perpetual shuffling in and out of similar pieces! 2nd place finish. PROJECTED LINEUP 1. Scott Podsednik LF 2. Aaron Rowand CF 3. Paul Konerko 1B 4. Jermaine Dye RF 5. Carl Everett DH 6. Juan Uribe SS 7. A.J. Pierznynski C 8. Joe Crede 3B 9. Tadahito Iguchi 2B Rotation 1. M. Buehrle 2. F. An. Garcia 3. J. Contreras 4. O. Hernandez 5. J. Garland

Goodness, I was being sarcastic. Right under that I provided a link to where I get that information it has all 30 teams, exactly what you want, click it and click on Depth Chart after selecting a team.

No, I haven't opened it. I guess if Sony repairs it, that's good but I don't want to lose it for 6 to 8 weeks or whatever. I'll inquire, like I said I have a gift card with nothing to do with too (like I said Ive totally lost interest in games) so if the price sounds good over the phone, I'll go with it and upgrade, if not, I'll call Sony...

Well, my PS2 bought several years ago has stopped playing most DVDs, "disc read error". The thing is, I mostly use it now as a DVD player in my dorm and have basically stopped playing video games at least on a regular basis. Compounding this, I recieved a $25 gift card to GameStop from a relative who I guess didn't realise this. So, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to trade in the old PS2 at Gamestop, hopefully get a good return on it, combined with the gift card and buy a new slim PS2 (that should play DVDs again!) for not much more. Anyone who has recently traded in their old addition PS2 to Gamestop or similar places mind informing how much I can expect to get? Because I really don't want to have to cover too much to get the upgrade. Do they give you like, at least 50 for the thing?

Saw this on the Iron Maiden board. Had me cracking up, especially the end part. "Burning Bush".

Well, you can just check out every thread Al starts to discuss the 30 teams where I post the projected lineups and rotations from CBS sportsline...or you could just go to the site and browse them all your self. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/teams and click on "Depth Chart".

You're thinking of Piece of Mind (one of the greatest album titles ever), Up The Irons! Pretty much anything from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, Jerry Cantrell, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Megadeth and Anthrax...
-
Let's put it this way, if Anthrax is indeed announced along with Sabbath and Maiden I might not go...because I'll still be in a euphoria induced coma from thinking about the greatest concert lineup I could possibly imagine. Just add on Zombie who's a guilty pleasure of mine, Shadow's Fall who are getting a good deal of hype and my friend who will be going with me loves BLS, so this would be worth whatever amount Sharon Osbourne wishes to gorge from me!

Why not? You should be...

Think I'm ok. I don't really have a "strategy" per se, besides "fill in the best player avaliable by need". C-Mickey Cochrane (best avaliable, never heard of him but stats are nice and he's a HOF so you can't go wrong) 1B-Rafael Palmeiro (personal favorite, future hall of famer) 2b-still looking SS-Ernie Banks (besides Cal Ripken the best possible pick I think) 3B-Eddie Mathews (I really wanted Brooks Robinson, but there was no denying Mathews has far superior offensive numbers, so I put my homerism aside in favor of jacking up my power) LF-Hank Aaron (pretty good cleanup guy I think!) OF-Al Kaline (was simply the best player avaliable, also a left fielder but with his bat I'll play him in center and left) Of-still looking Pitchers: Cy Young (the man the award pitching excellence was named after, hard to find a better staff ace) and Hoyt Wilhelm (the best knuckleballer of all time, can work as a starter or a closer, underrated hall of famer). Obviously need more pitching. Looks good so far, but then again everyone is going to have a mix of legends and all stars so it's all relative. The later the round go the harder this is going to get.

anyone been watching the Congressional hearings?
Styles replied to The Czech Republic's topic in Sports
McGwire looked bad in his response, but really what else should he say? He's not going to admit if he used them and if he says he didn't no one would believe him anyway. It was stupid to call him in there because like he said, he's a retired player. This is to evaluate the current drug policy, not analyse past hearsay...at least in theory... -
I don't know Al, I just think the Marlins are a very well balanced team. Their lineup fills out nicely from top to bottom with good speed on the top with Pierre and Castillo, serious power in the middle with Cabrera/Delgado and Lowell and a good back end with Lo Duca and Encanacion/Conine. They have some great young pitching too, like you said if they can stay healthy, plus they added solid veteran Al Leiter to the staff. Not to mention rising bullpen star G. Mota (I dont feel like looking up how to spell his first name!) I have learned however that "never bet against the Braves in the NL East" is about a universal a fact as "never bet against the Yankees in the AL East." So, I choose Florida as the NL wildcard team, 2nd place in the division. And they sure made the most of that last 2 times they placed there... PROJECTED LINEUP 1. Juan Pierre CF 2. Luis Castillo 2B 3. Miguel Cabrera RF 4. Carlos Delgado 1B 5. Mike Lowell 3B 5. Jeff Conine LF 7. Paul LoDuca C 8. Alex Gonzalez SS Rotation 1. J. Beckett 2. A. Burnett 3. D. Willis 4. A. Leiter 5. I. Valdez

Ive been watching. This has been a circus. From listening to Canseco I wouldn't trust him if he told me the sky was blue. Mcguire is not helping his image with his "I'm retired, Im not talking about the past" deal. Sosa and Palmeiro are doing good. Saying very little but agreeing to help with the problem... -

Yeah, I'm really bracing myself for the pricing on this. I've never been to a Pavillion show before, but looking at the seating chart for Nissan Pavillion it looks like it's set up with the lawn (don't really want that), then 3 tiers of seating (might be good) and then "orchestra section" right in the front, and it says it's seating. Anyone know if that area in front of the stage is really seating or is it like a general admission area?
-
No, they're not. They were rumored for a long time but apparently they didn't like the money or something, because they are not mentioned at all in the official press release. Shame, too, since Anthrax added to Sabbath and Maiden would just really put this over the top for me...
